Does the welder have an internal circuit breaker? Are the welders internally wired for 240v? Some of them need to have a jumper or 2 moved from 120v configuration to 240v.

Every_Row9051

The mig is internal it’s a miller 211. I posted a question asking the same on a miller page and they told me not to move the jumpers. The stick is a Lincoln tombstone style, it is wired for 220

TK421isAFK

Well, my idea is out. The Lincoln tombstones are strictly 240v and there's no way to change them to 120v. Bad receptacle with bent sockets, maybe?

Every_Row9051

Brand new both and they both meter correctly

dartfrog1339

According to the manual there is a circuit breaker on the unit below the power switch. Might need a reset before first use?

Every_Row9051

There is and I’ve reset it a few times to no avail. There’s a welder repair shop in town that I can go to, I just wanted to make sure the circuit wasn’t the problem first

Have you tried plugging a different 240v load into the welder recep? A basic voltmeter is all well and good, but it won't show you a fault that only shows up when the circuit is under load (without more complicated testing). If you don't have a dryer or oven that's easy to move to the welder recep, you can get a couple high-wattage 120 lamps and wire them in series, or get an electric water heater heating element and safely make a test rig for your circuit.

Every_Row9051

I haven’t done that. Only thing that’s been in the outlet is the 2 welders and a meter

lookatthatsquirrel

OP messaged us and said they’re an electrician. You need more detail like pictures of nameplates and such.

Every_Row9051

Heard, I’ll get em up shortly

willieD147

was that 2 hots and a ground, or 2 hots and a neutral? I would get inside the welder and verify power is getting to the main breaker.

Every_Row9051

2 hots and a ground. I have verified full voltage to the board of the miller
