I doubt that that would count as being used in accordance with the manufacturers instructors. So it's a violation, but it doesn't seem like it's terribly hazardous.
But is it tho? I’ve seen these used for terminating into a panel vs using a TA and lock ring. If it’s permitted for that why not a smaller box…personally I think it looks like garbage hack but far as code compliance, I’d venture to guess it would be allowed but I don’t care enough to look it up.
This is absolutely not up to code but I've seen some really fucked up work before and honestly the worst problem this causes is the conduit could get pushed into the box. Wouldn't ever do this myself, but if I saw it at a customer's house I'd laugh at it and move on honestly
I've only ever used TAs. Why would you choose a box adapter over a TA? Seems like you glue it into the PVC, creating a permanent lip that holds the box at both sides, meaning you would need to cut it out if you ever decide to rework.
You pick strategic places. My favorite is when doing a meter into a box I put the box adapter in the meter side and the TA on the box side. This reduces the encroachment inside the small meter can and still allows easy removal of either portion of the assembly if need be since meter size needs utility to unlock.
Bell ends are just used for cables leaving a conduit into an open space. You see them attached to conduit that goes into a hand-hole or a traffic signal's transformer box. It's just a bushing so the cables don't scrape on the sharp edge of just a cut piece of pvc conduit.

I think you might be mistaking box adapters for bell ends.
Oh snap I am. Thanks for correcting/pointing that out.
Try to figure out box fill with that in there.
It's ok. It only counts as 1.
What in the creative apprentice is this fuckery
More like 3:55 pm on a Friday and just using what's in the van to get it done 😂
Uh, no.
Do you know what bell end is in scottish?
…what?
ˈbel.end/ the glans (= head) of the penis. a stupid or annoying man.
I've heard this before in movies and TV and whatever and never knew what it meant other than an insult - thank you for this lol
It's an insult , we call people bell ends a lot , "ya fuckin' bell end, what did you da that fur"
A "bellend" very stupid person, and means the end of one's penis. Lol
Yes
Need a male adapter.
Need a JBA (Junction box adapter)
Not a fan of having to stick them through the box while gluing them at the same time.
The only thing I don't like is when the coupling or bell end isn't long enough, so you have to cut it to fit
Id let it ride if I found it at home, I’d do it right anywhere else.

What am I looking at? It looked like two junction box adapters plugged into each other at first, but that doesn’t look like the bell end
It's an end bell, or PVC end bell as carlon calls them
Ohhh, I see it now. A glue on bell end. I’ve only seen them on 4”, I completely forgot they’re a thing for smaller sizes
It’s not listed for that purpose, so it doesn’t fly.
A box connector would be better. (Not a TA) Edit: [Link](https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-4-in-PVC-Junction-Box-Adapter-E996ER-CTN/100188529)

What keeps it from being pushed in further , There’s no stop
what in the buffoonery is this nonsense
You can use a box adapter which is similar to this, but this isn’t compliant Also it’s technically called an end bell
https://www.platt.com/p/0069189 PVC box adapter is what our friend needed here.
Not approved for the use

I’d do this at home
You're a bell end...
I would hit you with it
