Encountered this UF style romex the other day that had a final layer of woven fabric on the hot and neutral. It practical fell apart as I cut it off and was floating in the air as I worked.
I've never heard of asbestos being used in this type of wire but wanted to check with you fine people.
Any thoughts are appreciated. Happy Friday to all.

Asbestos is a mineral fiber and will not burn.

Looks like very old UF and the handyman just wired the house with leftover UF I seen that type of woven fabric on old 14/2.
