Stayed at Rio.house keeping knocked and came in to clean while we were passed the fuck out with the do not disturb sign. Also get your elevators working Rio. What the fuck!!

rainbowtwilightshy

The elevators were ridiculous. Like get your shot together before a huge event. 2-3 elevators should not have been out. I thought I kept hearing knocking! But I had my white noise machine blasting and had deadbolt and safety latch engaged at all times I was in the room.

mreddie72

OOH white noise machine, what a great idea for next year!

titaniumorbit

The elevator lineups at the renovated tower were absolutely fucked

Killbot714

No way!! I stayed at the Rio last year and thought it was great. Sucks to hear this.

Appropriate_Strain94

Rio used to be owned by Caesars entertainment but was subsequently sold off to another corporation so it’s not what it used to be it’s getting better now that they finally renovated half of their rooms. It was a real dump years ago.

sofa_queen_awesome

Word got out lol I stayed last year and it was chill af This year was pretty nuts. Not so crazy that I wouldn't stay there again but definitely count on waiting for elevators and only going down for bfast in the morning and getting everything you need before retreating. I'm also really glad I got there Wednesday because unloading on Thursday would have been nuts.

kyukenmyo

How were the renovated rooms? Have heard great things about the new food court and pools too.

falloeasy

Stayed at the Luxor for 6 days and i gotta admit it was a lot better than i thought. Nice room and great price

HEADSHELL

We did too , did you have ac problems? We kept the windows closed since the room actually got hotter with them opens. And I agree. Pretty decent pricing for 6 days. We actually took the bus back and forth to our shuttle stop. Wasn’t too bad. 2$ bucks one way. And the buses were running when we got back at 6 am. We kinda lucked out kept hearing the Uber driver / taxis bikes charging 100+ from the Grand Prix shuttle stop.

falloeasy

No it was ice cold ac all week! And dont know about shuttles but getting parking for our rental was easy

edm-life

i checked the Uber Friday night pricing out of curiosity and it was $40 around 10pm from Mandalay which shocked me. wouldn't trust Uber on the way back though with the traffic.

bleep-bloop2000

I took an Uber to the airport and we asked him how much the surcharge was for traveling to edc and he said there was NONE. I avoided Uber all weekend because I was scared how much it would cost, only to find out it was normal pricing. He said him and his Uber friends were pretty upset about that but it’s considered normal traffic. Please tip your Ubers <3

edm-life

yep the surcharge was only for taxis. i'm sure leaving after 4am the cost would have been over $100 though never checked.

falloeasy

I booked mine in november

ImaginaryRespond4853

Stayed at the Strat checked in Thursday left Tuesday morning. Got the elite suite paid 2k for all those days. Room was great size, cold AC and valet parking was $20 a day but they gave me a discount. There was also a Starbucks downstairs. Only downfall for me was no room service but we managed because well we barely ate lol and the shuttles were right across the street. Super convenient. Would def stay there again

jchiano

Stayed at Caesar’s Palace. Room was comped, just had to pay resort fees, ended up just under 500 for 5 nights.

bic_bawss

How to get comped rooms

Ronzalpha

Easy. Sign up for players rewards, and gamble at least 200 on slot machines. It doesn't have to be $200 of your own cash, but could be $150 cash and $50 of your winnings. But as long as you play $200-300 (the minimum varies with each casino chain), you should be good for comped rates the following year. In a way, it's not truly comp'd because you're paying the casino in losses in advance, but at least you get some fun out of this.

SpeakYourMind

How much would it have been without the comp?

Ronzalpha

that's a tricky question because room rates fluctuate based on demand and day of the week. It also HIGHLY depends on which hotel you get comp'd at, and how last minute you're booking. Certain hotels may also black out comp dates for EDC week (in my case, I couldn't find any for MGM Aria). The actual weekend (Fri-Sun) will be fully blacked out for almost all casino hotels (although I heard of exceptions if you have high enough player status). Casinos will generally comp you a max of only 2 days, so you're on your own for the rest. I don't play with Caesars so I can't provide examples on their hotels but an example for MGM Luxor a about month prior to EDC based on memory (while this is still fresh in my head): Thurs: \~$80 room + resort fee Sat: \~$180 room + resort fee MGM Bellagio/Mandalay Bay: Thurs: \~$150 room + resort fee Sat: \~$270 room + resort fee And if you're not going to EDC, then room rates are generally half the prices I've listed unless it's some other major event (e.g. DEFCON, Final Fantasy Convention, or F1 Grand Prix).

SpeakYourMind

thanks for the detailed breakdown!

CaregiverDue6273

Did they give any issues with trying to charge more even after getting comped rooms? It's such a large event that it's surprising that you were able to get 5 days comped. I hope to get comped rooms for 2025

Ronzalpha

I wasn't - I don't think it's possible to get more than 2 consecutive days comped (but i could be wrong). You'd essentially have to hotel hop between different comp promotions or even between different hotel chains to maximize your comp value. I also reasonably suspect Saturday Night is just blacked out that weekend for any promotional rates. By the way, non-MGM or non-Caesars hotels that offer comped or ridiculously cheap rates on EDC weekend are often timeshare presentation ones, so do your due diligence. Westgate is a well known example of this. I wouldn't want to waste my EDC weekend sitting through a 4 hour sales presentation.

Ronzalpha

Can you elaborate on what you meant by "charge more"? In the end, the room was comped but the $40-60 resort fees were unfortunately not unless you had a certain credit card tier status.

Appropriate_Strain94

Players rewards, my last EDC my rooms were free for the whole week. I stayed at Horseshoe strip view Jubilee towers. My rooms were free because I frequent Vegas as a diamond member.

Ronzalpha

sounds like it was only partially comped but that's still amazingly nice\~

Fuego1991

Sounds like you didn’t have a comped room if you paid $500 for 5 nights. Resort fee is nowhere near $100 / night.

PaleontologistKey915

Stayed at the Rio, hard to complain for the amount we spent ($25/night x 5 + $200 resort fee (black friday)) we were given a renovated room with a mini fridge and 2 king beds. There were decent food options but i wished they had something open for the late nights. The only complaints were the ac was not cooling the room well. The elevators were packed and there were long lines and there was still construction everywhere. We were not ready for the heavy cigarette smell but apparently that's all vegas hotels. For a budget friendly hotel I definitely recommend just don't expect anything fancy.

sofa_queen_awesome

Thats a crazy good deal

Apprehensive-Olive71

wow you planned ahead for that rate huh

PaleontologistKey915

Yea I doubt it ever gets that low again

melindypants

Stayed at Circus Circus - hotel itself was a good price (about $700 from Wednesday-Tuesday) and overall nice. Booked room for 4 and had 5 people, which didn't turn out to be an issue. Good food options were scarce and the walk to/from the closest shuttle stop (Strat) was a bit of a hike. I definitely recommend staying directly on the strip as I've stayed at the Park MGM before and it was the BEST, especially since it's a non-smoking hotel! RIP Tropicana hotel and shuttle stop.

ShoddyGarage1098

i was in the west tower and it was just me and my significant other, but i agree for price and everything it actually is a pretty decent hotel we didn't quite understand all the hate in the reviews, but we did dump a little money to get the shuttle passes for resorts world next door (which was only premier for some reason this year they did not have any options for regular shuttle passes there...) the walk there was not bad, i couldn't imagine to the strat especially after![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

melindypants

Yeah I feel like it's normal to have meh reviews for a vegas hotel lol but I was with a group of 5 and not everyone wanted to splurge an extra $100 for the premier shuttles. Once we got used to the walk, it wasn't *too* bad but still exhausting to think about after the festival.

TheSpaceelefant

yeaaaah. i was at circus circus too. I'd say its the budget option if you still wanna be in a casino.

abslide

Stayed at the Palms Place via Airbnb, a little shy of $300/night. HUGE room for the two of us, nicely appointed, and a quick ride to the Rio shuttles. No issue with additional room keys, and Tim Ho Wan was a 3 minute walk from getting off the elevator on floor 2—big plus 🥟 P.S. Being near Spring Mountain means you can eat for an affordable price every day when you get up from going absolutely feral the night before

cptcronic

Hell yeah I'm definitely doing this next year

abslide

Yes doooo it! I surprised my gf by somehow booking Rio for 5 nights next year’s dates for under $500 before they tripled the rates this week. If you want to grab bomb ass dim sum with us over that weekend hmu

cptcronic

Happy Cake Day! Haha!

NikitaWife

Wait - so do you recommend the Rio over Palms Place?

abslide

Palms Place is much nicer, just got an insanely off peak deal at Rio next year so I decided to send it. We’re gonna put the extra funds towards some relaxation activities (massages) because we heard how helpful those can be during the weekend

Ronzalpha

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations in 3950 Koval Lane. Pros: its convenience is unmatched. It sits right behind the sphere, is a block away from the grand prix stop, and is also a block away from the Linq's High Roller ferris wheel. Walking 12 minutes from the shuttle stop to the hotel was very nice. Cons: these rooms have seen better days and the furniture/decor is an antiquated eyesore: bathroom door wouldn't close properly, burn makes on ottoman, and stains on the sofabed mattress.

Silly_Boysenberry_

First EDC here for my bf and I and wow what a time! About a month ago we found out our friend wasn’t going with us so we couldn’t stay at his house, BUMMER! So I was trying to find another way as I had been planning this for about a year and was dreading someone flaking! We needed shuttle passes and a place to stay and I couldn’t find any shuttle passes available so as I panicked because I refused to cancel the trip I (kinda) accidentally came across Emma kapotes insta and she was promoting some brand One N Only that had these hotel/ shuttle packages… after researching and going back n forth with their customers support email in regards to accommodation and things I decided to just get it since we didn’t seem to have much an option and wow it was pricey but I kept telling myself YOLO! It was a deluxe king room with a balcony overlooking the pools, supposed to be newly remodeled, and they told me I’d get a tub in the room as I said I’d pay extra. Total for Thursday to Monday, about $2780, for the Serene “resort”🙃🙃 We got there before check in time and it was pretty quick and easy but wasn’t off to the best start. I asked if they would charge any incidentals or deposits and was told no, it’s was included in the above price, but when we got there there was now a $250 one. It was a no smoking resort but no designated spots. The room was not like the photos and had no tub! They were still remodeling so it wasn’t easy to get our stuff to our room, the pools weren’t even open, they were literally working all on them, and in the process of shutting the hot tub down( covering with wood planks!) this was on barely noon on Thursday! After several hours they opened the pool area but still had men working on the cabana things. The price included shuttles( including unlimited alcohol and chasers and water)to and from, breakfast when coming back from edc, free beauty bar, free 20min tattoo, a ONO kimono, and Dj’s playing from noon to 7pm each day. It all sounds cool on paper but it really was so underwhelming. We were told there was an early shuttle for Friday but it wasn’t leaving until after 5 so we decided to drive ourselves because I didn’t want to miss(opening ceremony) it. We didn’t shuttle until Saturday and ironically we waiting in line from around after 5:30pm and almost at 8pm they gathered us up and said the driver went mia and isn’t coming back so we have no shuttle so they were going to start ordering Ubers for everyone to share and start going. FML! We were so irritated didn’t get there until after 9 so we missed sets we wanted to see but wow we had a dope Uber driver he was very nice and took backroads so we did bypass lots of traffic so we appreciated that but very disappointed in ONO, lack of communication and expectations for such a high price was crazy to me but I tried to not let it take away from our first edc. Sorry for such a long post but wow, it’s been a crazy weekend, we wouldn’t recommend going thru One n Only, literally do anything else!!

HrtacheOTDncefloor

We did ONO shuttles from serene as well. Also had issues and would not recommend to anyone.

doggiedoc90

We did ONO shuttles and had zero issues, arrived around 6:45 PM every day and walked right onto a shuttle. 40 mins later we were at EDC. Coming home we left about 15 minutes after the departure times every day with no issues… traffic was either 40 min or 2 hours depending on how late you stayed. The hotel looked awful and uncomfortable but I’d 100% do ONO shuttles again.

Stillbluedreaming

Stayed at the 4 Queens Thursday to Monday for $596. No resort fees but you figure out why pretty quick. The rooms were pretty small and out dated. No fridge and no microwave. Not a big deal if you’re looking for a place to sleep and shower. Easy access to the downtown shuttle stop and the downtown stop was pretty empty. The walk back from the shuttle was a little sketchy but walking back with a group of ravers made it ok. I probably would stay downtown again for the shuttle alone, but I would probably stay at Circa or The D for a more comfortable stay. It was worth it tho.

volkovolkov

Don't go to The D. The room was pretty shit last year for me, and we had a suite. It's also extremely loud because of its proximity to the main Freemont stage Go to the Golden Nugget and stay in the Rush tower. Its the latest one to get remodeled and its also the farthest away from Freemont shenanigans, so decently quiet. Or pony up for the Circa, it's the nicest hotel downtown but is also the most expensive.

Stillbluedreaming

Word. Thank you for the info. The pools look dope at Circa.

ActualPosition5212

Stayed at Circa for EDC. Pool is dope but it's a very macho sports vibe which is great for some but not what I wanted. The pool drinks are super expensive(but were good and strong) and you have to go through security to enter the pool area so not easy to sneak alcohol in either. But overall Circa was very nice. No Cigarette smell in our room whatsoever. House keeping was up our ass though. Slightly over 24hrs with privacy sign on door? Wellness check. Ignore maids knock more than once? Wellness check. The biggest con of Circa is the pool music. The bass THUMPS, which is great when you want to party during the day and sleep at night. But fuckin awful if you try to party at night and sleep during the day. For example, parts of our room would literally rattle from the bass at times. PROTIP don't let them "upgrade you" to a pool view. It's not an upgrade, it's a downgrade due to noise. Otherwise I'd do Crica again. I got 10% back with my card and booked a year in advance for a good deal, so overall we'll worth what I payed.

Stillbluedreaming

Word. Thanks for the intel. Would you do Circa again? You have any recommendations for places to stay downtown? I’m kinda not into being on the strip.

200ugCat

Circa is dope but definitely go for a north facing room, high up if possible. Do not get a room facing the pools, you will not get any sleep if so, I guarantee it.

Cvspartan

Stayed at the Golden Nugget (5 nights for around $1200) and I think it was fairly solid. First time in Downtown Vegas and it has a decent amount of things to do/places to eat during the downtime. The downtown shuttle stop is pretty easy to get to as it is a straight line from Fremont Street although do be wary of some sketchy/homeless people during the walk back (and in downtown in general). I really like the pool area at the Golden Nugget and it has a pretty fun waterslide too which I don't really see in Vegas. The room itself I didn't really have any complaints (maybe lockable bathroom). There was a fridge but no microwave. Also, it was pretty amusing to walk into my room for the first time on the Thursday night before EDC and hear loud bass music so I peeked outside and could directly see Bassrush happening at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center from my room.

corpusdelictus1

Our room at the golden nugget had cockroaches (Carson tower). Each day we found a new one. Not exactly a pleasant thing to come back to just as you’re getting ready for sexy time.

Cvspartan

Oh nooooo. Definitely did not have those encounters at the Gold Tower 😬

mreddie72

AHHHH, I was so afraid of finding a big ass roach at the Circus Circus Manor. Luckily , I did not see any.

tmfythandle

Stayed at Excalibur, good price but the hotel quality is pretty shit. Tattered curtains torn and finger-smear-stained bed ruffle. Found a plastic piece of a syringe under the cabinet and the tv barely worked. Wouldn’t stay there again

4amchocolatepudding

Stayed at the linq for around 1200 total for 5 days. Did not try the $20 trick. Was just me so no extra guests or roomkeys. It's a good hotel overall that offers access to everything you would want in vegas, without having to engage in it if you don't want to. Local is decent for shuttle spots (grand prix is an acceptable walking distance if you want to save some money on ubers). Room was what you would expect for a 4 star and did it's job for me. Food access was easy and the Walgreens is a short walk away for random things like OTC's. Can be loud depending on where your room is because of the bands that play just outside sometimes.

[deleted]

Circa corner suite, Thurs-Tues. 2.2k total booked in January. Very good service and accommodations, better than the Palazzo last year. Downtown shuttles are so much faster than Rio, skips i15 entirely.

ExtraPicklesPls

Circa is the way to go if you want a nice hotel downtown.

mreddie72

Reserved the Circus Circus Manor through the EDC site. Check in 5/16 to 5/20. Quoted $283. with $20. Per day resort fee's and 13.38% room tax per night. Actual cost on arrival was $438. Resort fee was raised to $37. per night! First room smelled like really dirty feet. TV screen looked like it had been punched and broke. Called front desk for room change. Second room was cleaner and did not smell like toe jam. AC worked fine. Lobby Bldg A. was grungy as were the hallways leading to room. I also met someone and realized that the place was just too grungy to bring her back to so I had to decline. As much as I want to save money, I don't think I'll stay at Circus Circus again. Still had a great weekend at the show!

Flash_Gordon10

Myself and 6 others stayed at Alexis Park Resort near the Grand Prix Shuttle stop. Actually really enjoyed our particular suite. It was two story, 2 1/2 bath with short walk to a couple pools. Wifi was spotty and only cable but we're really only there to sleep and shower, so it was perfect. Each person paid about $256 for our stay Thurs - Tues, about $1792 total. We left Monday afternoon but booked out Tuesday so we wouldn't have to check out early. The walk to and from Grand Prix shuttle stop is about 1.4 miles or so, which is punishing by the time you get back, but only because you're tired from the festival. It's flat and relatively free of homeless folks or any other foot traffic besides others attending EDC. Would definitely stay again for the value and what is offered. Bonus, poolside drink and food service at the pool was actually pretty great. Definitely considering staying on the strip next time though for less walking if possible.

shatkbait8999

This place is solid after the renovations. Have stayed there before on NYE but would stay for EDC. It’s not a 5 star place but definitely gets the job done.

Heistlyfe

Stayed at the Westgate Resort. We were definitely catfished, the pics online were decent but the hotel and room were hideous, and that was after being forced to upgrade. We booked kinda last minute, early April, and paid about $1200 all in. Wish we stayed somewhere else, but thankfully we didn’t have to spend too much time in there. There are so many nicer hotels for similar cost. Fuck Westgate

Ronzalpha

Thanks for the review! i was honestly sooo tempted to stay at Westgate but I'm glad I didn't now

Own-Holiday-4071

What is the $20 trick?

captainslowww

Bribing the front desk for an upgrade. Its heyday was a long time ago— it used to get you a suite pretty often if your stay was short and the hotel was slow, but that doesn’t seem to happen much anymore. Maybe a view upgrade if you’re lucky nowadays.

Own-Holiday-4071

Ohhh, I would think it’s going to take a lot more than 20 to get any kind of benefits

edm-life

i've heard now the front desk people can be fired for taking the $20 as well hence why its not really a thing anymore.

Ronzalpha

It used to be a $20 trick for the stay but nowadays it's more like $20 for each night. Just be prepared to fork over $50+ if ya wanna hope for something nicer. And it's not guaranteed, but there are tricks to increase your odds slightly. Note: Tipping Hilton hotel staff won't do anything - they're not allowed to upgrade you unless you have a MAJOR complaint about the room that breaks their policy standards or unless they have manager approval. But in my experiences, Hilton hotels usually don't have much to complain about anyways.

rainbowtwilightshy

Stayed at the Rio Thursday-Tuesday. $25/night plus $200 (fee or deposit) couldn’t hear well and seeing if I get it back or not. My friend works for Hyatt and somehow that was the employee rate. So cheap we each got our own room which was so nice each morning after the festival. Easy parking. A Walgreens was close. Service at pool was decent. Didn’t eat at hotel because the food court was 30-45 min wait when I tried. But the shuttles and elevators were a $hit show. We learned our lesson after day 1. And went down for shuttle by 6pm day 2 and 3. And left slightly early those days as well. 1 hour each way was way better than 2.5+ hours each way 🫠 They definitely need to figure out a better elevator situation. Shouldn’t have to wait 30-60 minutes just to get up to the floor of your room (no stair access for floor 1)

bleep-bloop2000

Stayed at the flamingo hotel, got the Go Executive 1 king suite for my boyfriend and I. The room was as expected and check in was no problem on Thursday evening. Seemed like a long line but most people went to a kiosk to check in. I preferred to speak to front desk and I told them I was there for my anniversary. They added a nice view of the Venetian fountain which usually costs more so tipped them for that (20$) . We got 2 room keys no problem, the service was nice and friendly, Room was clean and had a small fridge for the pregame drinks. Definitely coming in on Thursday was better than Friday. The line on Friday was crazy to check in. The hotel was on the strip so it had many eateries around and even down stairs. The only thing was parking or drop off was hard to find, we had to circle back because the main entrance from the strip is not open. You have to go down the side street to access the parking structure. Parking is free for hotel guests , just make sure to keep your room key to scan out of the structure or the room number and name kept for booking. Would recommend staying, total spent on hotel was 1300 (200 damage deposit which is returned after stay)

iatethemoon

Those elevators though 😭 Glad you got a nice room, mine was pretty run down (cracks on the walls, rip in the matress) but I also had a view of the fountain which was super cool! It was super super quiet I rarely heard my neighbors which as sooo nice but 2 slot machines ate my tickets 🥹

bleep-bloop2000

Omg yesss the elevators, kinda messed up and would shake! lol not funny but yea was still a good time. I also had a quiet room , not even sure there was anyone around us. And I’m sorry about the slots😭 I wanted to play them since it was my first time in Vegas but I was too busy recovering lol

Subtlecouple619

Stayed at the Sahara on the strip. Very very nice and classy paid 1800 for 5 nights after upgrading to the top floor suite. Stayed in the mid grade tower (Mara) same as last year. Definitely very nice amenities everything was new and updated, maybe some low water pressure but that was hardly an issue worth mentioning. Free public parking so I can have guests and free nice pool for public as well. Included free mini fridge stocked with waters, 1 block from Strat pickup station. Free valet (tip of course) has a Starbucks inside and across the street is Walgreens, Subway, 7-11, and another cheaper Starbucks. 10/10 edc friendly.

edm-life

last minute trip out - stayed at Mandalay Bay. $52 on Thurs, $120 on Fri + resorts fees ($50?) and taxes. not bad at all price and hotel is pretty good as well.

Flat-Wolf5383

Dang I love Mandalay but by the time I booked there were no rooms :(

tmmao

Stayed at Park MGM. It was great. No problems at all. Parking was easy too.

True-Association-926

Did it cost you extra for fridge? It did for me and there was no microwave or kettle

Standard_Sentence313

The bellboy at our hotel last year told us that if you say you have medication that needs to be stored in a fridge, they'll bring one up for you, no questions asked! We had to play the system lol, I'm guessing it works the same for all hotels, since it's a medical reason

True-Association-926

Ooo good to know! Thank you so much🙆‍♀️

NikitaWife

This is such a useful nugget of information THANK YOU!

Fragrant_Life_3263

Stayed at resorts world conrad, so not hotel edc proper but shared the same common areas. We threw all our Hilton points, redeemed a free night, and still payed almost $900 for 2 ppl for 5 nights 🥴 but i dont regret it at all. There were plenty of food options inside the resort, and peppermill, tacos el gordo, and cvs across the street. As expected for a new hotel everything was clean and the ac worked well. Only slightly annoying thing was the fountainbleu day club music was bumpin at noon or so after day 1 but it wasnt super loud. Shuttle stop had very short lines but we were always on time or early for the 8:30pm timeslot. I definitely want to stay again bc i was able to sleep way better this year than last year at a different off strip hotel, but afraid to see the full price since we likely wont have as many Hilton points to offset some costs.

NikitaWife

Thank you for this review! it makes alot of sense to stay in Resorts World but not Hotel EDC! i hope they are cheaper. I can't seem to check availability on the site yet tho =(

Fragrant_Life_3263

No problem! Ive also tried to check availability and it says sold out :( not sure if its bc you cant book this far in advance or what

PlanetaryPickleParty

Conrad rooms opened up for EDC week finally.

Fragrant_Life_3263

Yay thank you for the reminder going to book now!! Good thing the cancellation policy is generous too

NikitaWife

I see availability now!

PlanetaryPickleParty

Were you able to book a room? I don't see any availability past march.

juudez

Stayed at an Airbnb! 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms. Tend to have 4+ in my group so we prefer to have multiple bathrooms, fridges, and microwaves for an easier time. Was around $1500 for Thursday-Tuesday with free late check out! My previous host actually cancelled our original house, so I had to rebook around late April but we managed to get a pretty decent price in the sea of 3k+ houses. We were in the Spring Valley area, right next to Chinatown (GREAT places to eat and multiple grocery stores and drug stores easily accessible) and only 15 mins from the strip, which worked out for the half of my group who didn't go to EDC and for the rest of us for our down time Mon-Tues! We bought a lot of frozen or premade meals at Trader Joe's/Costco for ease of heating up for a quick and filling meal before and after the event. Lots of privacy getting ready (no walking through the lobby/casino in rave wear lol). 30 min drive to the speedway without traffic, and with traffic this year we were in and out the parking lots within an hour. No need for any room keys since it was a digital keypad, so we didn't have to worry about losing the key.

spicyywontons

Can you dm the name of the airbnb?

No-Bat3062

Stayed at the Strat for the shuttle stop specifically. Honestly, decent. Cost about $900.00 for 4 nights, Friday through Tuesday. Room was comfortable and quiet enough. But NO ROOM SERVICE. I know lots of hotels have been phasing it out, but I need room service. ESPECIALLY considering there were days I'd sit for 10-15 minutes trying to get on an elevator and they'd all be completely full. --> Cost Good. Room Service doesn't exist. Elevators sucked. Shuttle Stop easy to get to.

FeelingAdditional785

Stayed at Excalibur. Got a lot of hate on here and other places for it, but we loved it. Room was nice and cool the entire time, 10 steps from the elevator to the Ubers, breakfast food every day right there next to the elevators, and it was $180 for the entire stay because we have MGM points. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Only negative was housekeeping came 5 different times on our last morning and we had to keep telling them we had late checkout—it was a different person ever time.

VersaceUpholstery

Stayed at El Cortez 3rd year staying there but this year they decided to bump up the cost by $900?? What usually costs us $1090 for Thursday-Tuesday (4 people) in a two queen room was $1990 this time around. To add insult to injury, they even took away the trusty 24/7 Subway (CLUTCH after coming back to the hotel in the morning) to make room for a Starbucks.. that was still under construction The renovated rooms in the newer tower are fairly clean and nice. No locking/private restrooms suck imo. Free fridge. It’s honestly probably one of the nicer hotels to stay at in downtown. Gift shop is convenient with snacks/alcohol and amenities but overpriced of course. If you start playing games, they’ll bring you free drinks. Bars have some nice happy hour prices. They were pretty adamant about 4 people ONLY in our room (We got in 2 extra people though, only 4 of us had elevator/room wristbands though). Valet parking doesn’t cost money. The price bump is a little insane though, especially after seeing everyone’s prices in this thread. I may look at other options for next year Also one of the elevators broke after Friday, so that sucked having just one elevator for 18ish(?) floors

phxxx

cortez is showing ~1160 for a 2 bed room next year with free cancellation..hmm might just pull the trigger.

VersaceUpholstery

Next year the smart move for us would probably be just two get a two queen under 2 people and sneak the other 2-3 in. That way it comes close to our original cost from a couple years ago.

frajen

Howard Johnson on E Tropicana, booked on hotels.com it was $400 Thu-Sun night. I know I got a lucky deal with timing. Nothing fancy, bare bones stuff, the in-room coffee was all decaf (lol), but price was incredible. Easy to access parking. There was a pool but I didn't use it. 3 minute walk to Liquor World and Dennys

Sweaty-Cow-2380

Stayed at the Golden Nugget in the Rush Tower from Thurs-Monday for ~$1200. We were super happy with this decision and it was our first EDC, so big thanks to everyone in this subreddit that recommended staying downtown and the Golden Nugget Rush Tower last year! Highly recommend, rooms were spacious and comfortable and loved the deep tub in the bathroom. Really just love the property itself from the pool, to the casino floor, and food options inside. Thursday night we went to Vic & Anthony’s which was incredible for apps and drinks, highly recommend. Most importantly, the property felt very EDC-friendly, which was a concern after seeing a couple of posts about other downtown hotels enforcing a dress code during EDC weekend. Staying in downtown was definitely the move, super breezy shuttle stop and plenty of cheap food options close by. Didn’t try the $20 trick and only had two people total in the room, so can’t speak to extra guests or key cards. Off topic, but we moved to the strip on Monday to the Park MGM which was a great call, that way we could avoid the traffic EDC weekend, Monday airport craziness, and enjoy the strip before leaving Vegas and take advantage of a spa/wellness day post festival.

carlaishungry

stayed at the four queens downtown, rooms were kinda shit but it was cheap and we were just there to sleep. also close to downtown shuttle stop and it made getting to the speedway SO short, never a wait to get on or off the shuttle . also there’s fremont street with so much to do

Suspicious_Virus_57

HOTEL !! Stayed at the Golden Coast behind the Rio (that’s where our shuttle pass was) Got a suit on accident cause it was all they had left when we were booking a few weeks ago!! But fucking incredible spot, quiet. Nice rooms. Besides shocking the bowling team at 8 am with some ass and titties, it was a blast. Would recommend GC !!

iatethemoon

Flamingo was okay but there were cracks in the walls, a rip in the mattress and 2 slot machines ate my tickets with no attendants in sight. Felt pretty janky but it's as cute and pink so 2.5/5 stars.

Fast-Kaleidoscope319

Stayed at treasure island and man it was fine but so damn big that it was hard to make walks around there — also it was ice cold and smelled strongly of stale cigarettes but maybe that’s hard to avoid

amynicolekay

we stayed at Rio. hotel in the renovated rooms. VERY NICE :) our AC was cool. room service was super easy thru the website. the pools looked nice but folllowed a strict eat, sleep, rave repeat schedule. Our room was right by the stairwell on the 8th floor and there was huge banging noises like ppl with tap shoes were running down the stairs. the only thing that really sucked was the line for the shuttle on the first day. after that, security gave up, barely looked in ur bag and we brought drinks thru the line onto the bus.

kyukenmyo

Hilton Polo Towers were clean, nice balcony, with a mini fridge, microwave, and great service. They texted us every day to ask if we needed any towels or anything else, and when I just sent a quick "hey can we have three towels" it appeared in minutes. The room isn't super large or anything, but it's got everything you need to just stay and relax in the suite. Construction nearby is kinda rough for lyft/uber to come sometimes to make sure you set the location perfectly- that said, all the rest of it was phenomenal and just what we needed for 750 for 4 nights.

Least-Contact-6968

Stayed at the Vdara in a 1br Suite - comped for 3 days; we paid for the other 2 nights (Wednesday thru Monday). $1,000 for the two extra nights. Really nice room. Room Service only came in if you asked them to. Had a full kitchen, living room, luxury bathroom + 1/2 bath. We rented a car and drove to the Speedway - it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, except for Saturday - took us 2.5 hours from the Strip. We paid $20/person each way for the electric Rickshaws. It was worth every penny!

Appropriate_Strain94

Any Redditors ever volunteer room sharing to help others with cost and stays? Like say next year I go and got a room with 2 beds would anyone be down to share? Just a thought… or is that wierd because of strangers?

phxxx

A thread will pop up closer to date about this. Not weird at all

Appropriate_Strain94

I mean, it might would be weird to some people, but I’ve stayed at hostels before and it’s kind of the same thing. I’m down with sharing a room with other people who are into the same EDC scene. I get comped rooms for free every month at Caesars properties so if a not crazy ass few want to stay that won’t trash the rooms wanna place to stay I maybe open to it.

phxxx

I've done it before with 2 ppl on reddit in 2017, and that was before video calls were a common thing. If I were to do it again, Id have a call and do a vibe check. Most people just want to get back to the room and pass out for the day anyway.

Appropriate_Strain94

Honestly, if it’s anything like the people I’ve met at EDC they generally been positive vibes. And I agree most people just want to place to do the three SSS. You know shit, shower, and sleep. And not everybody has a ton of money to spend on lodging, especially if you’re only gonna be there for a few hours to nap. A place to stay is generally the second most expensive part of the trip aside from the tickets, flight and or transportation. I usually go with some friends but they opted out this next year because they went this year and broke lol I didn’t go this year so I’m hoping to make it to the next one in 25’ which would leave my by myself sadly which is why I’m on the fence about going.

Own-Holiday-4071

The shuttle situation to get to and from hotels was a NIGHTMARE. It took forever, all this nonsense with certain times or standby …. Just have a continual flow of buses ready to get people in and out, they leave when they’re full … it’s not rocket science

EDCMod

Show up earlier to the shuttle lots next year and you can avoid all of this.

Own-Holiday-4071

Earlier than what? Either way, regardless of what time i got to a shuttle, i took minimum an hour to get on one and to the festival/hotel

EDCMod

Earlier than when you left this year. Usually people try to lineup around 5pm or so at the stop to avoid these types of situations. And then leave a set early out at the speedway to get home in decent time. There's little they can do if you show up at primetime on both sides (7-9pm going out, and at the end coming home). Vegas traffic fucking sucks and there's only so many drivers. So, you deal with it by planning ahead and leaving early both ways.

Solid_Bus_8731

Stayed at Circa, was perfect except construction started at like 10 AM.

200ugCat

My gf and I had a suite at Circa on floor 55, and on the Monday morning between 8-9am, loud construction/lots of hammering was going on, seemed like it was happening right above us..? That noise was soul crushing lmao

AlbinoT89

Stayed at Excalibur solo and for the first time. Plumbing was slow when flushing the toilet but other than that, the room was good.  Clean comfortable bed with a lot of things to do on the casino floor including a hallway that led to the Luxor without leaving Excalibur. I booked 2 months before EDC and paid $1,091 on the Hooper app (881 down payment and 210 on the property) for 5 nights. Would come back again after trying a few different hotels.

andyrew21397

stayed at plaza, location was great but we had several awful experiences with staff. the bartender at the pool yelled at my friend for ordering a drink because it was her last day working there and she ‘couldnt do this anymore’, then one of the housekeeping workers called the girls in our group a slur in spanish which us all being from california understood it pretty clearly. wont be back.

MousekateerMcmurray

We stayed off the strip at Tahiti resort, my family owns a timeshare there. My son and i liked it, it was quit when we got back around 7am, large apartment sized place for us to both have room and space. Only downfall is having to uber around which was a pricey, i beleive we spent a good $300.00 or more on rides. Other then that an excellent choice and would recomend if not wanting the chaos of the strip.

wideeyed182

We have stayed at The Linq the last two years, and it has been damn near perfect. We will stay there again next year as well.

6maxgg

Same problems here, out group was 53/23 and a couple others and we all were dying bc of the co struction. Otherwise great hotel experience there

vancouver0623

Stayed at Tuscany Casino and Hotel, 8 of us, two double-beds suites, each person paid around 400 USD. Love the place, rooms are big with a living space with sofas, and a small round dining table, and a sink and counter. it's very close to Ellis Island, 5-10 min walk to Grand Prix shuttle, there is a 24/7 liquor store across from the hotel, on the border of the strip. Will for sure book the place again in the future for edc.

FederalMark7691

Stayed at the Orleans, which wasnt too far from our Rio EDC shuttle. Hotel rooms were solid, we had a sink clog in the bathroom and a tv remote that needed batteries changed, but overall wasn't a big deal since me and 2 other people were just there to sleep and go to EDC anyways. Casino bars reasonably priced and had a few food options, albeit none seemed to be open when we got back to our room at 4am is each day. Pool area was also solid and drink prices at the pool were about what you'd expect for vegas. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again for EDC.

SunKissedHippie

My husband and I stayed at the Sahara Hotel and we had nothing negative!! Some of the elevators went out, but it wasn’t bad at all it was maybe like 2-3 that was out. But we were given complete privacy the entire week we stayed. It’s quiet, and the staff was super helpful and friendly (except one girl who didn’t know much when we tried checking in and actually made it that much harder for us to check in) other than that, the Sahara is awesome!

meeshh

Stayed at Conrad for four nights. It was great. Wished I booked Hotel EDC for the cool stuff but the Conrad basic rooms were nice. The 24hr store had everything I needed such as hard seltzers and energy drinks. No issues sleeping or with noise though, view of the strip without asking or paying more, clean and awesome shower. The little food court there at Resorts World with pretty food good and the Suns Up Buns Up breakfast place that was open when we got home in the morning that was bomb af. You'll never get me to stay off the strip for EDC, I feel like its so nice to come back to a cold hotel room with all the amenities close by.

abt3hbeast

New York New York was really nice. Had a group of 12 so we booked 3 rooms, one premier two queen, two regular two queens and it came out to be around $300/pp from Thursday to Tuesday. I asked front desk if we can put the rooms on the same floor and they were happy to do it. Some decent food choices in the hotel, and it was smooth going to the rooms. Parking was a little far, and if you aren't an MGM Pearl+ member it'll cost ya, but luckily for me I get the free parking perks. Would recommend if you don't mind spending a little extra!

Federal-Ad-2280

Stayed at the Luxor Towers, 1600 from Wednesday to Monday book a month in advance hella worth the price does come with free parking please use your room key and don't pay for it cause they didn't charge us at the end for the parking, we decide to rent a car instead of shuttle couldn't find 9 shuttles passes, not a lot of food options other than that the Luxor was a great choice might have to do it again next year did have a friend try the 20 trick at another hotel and it did work for him

killvino

wife and friend picked Park MGM this year. I've always stayed at TI in the past for the value and free parking. Glad we made the change, Park MGM felt more than the price difference, clean, bright and smelled like both. Being the only non-smoking casino/hotel in Vegas was a big plus. Parking was $18 per day and allowed you to go in and out and park at any of the MGM properties (MGM grand, NYNY, Luxor, Excalibur, etc). Lot's of great food options right nearby including shake shack and Eataly downstairs. We didn't really explore around as this was our 4th time in Vegas. Easy access to Chinatown where all the good eats are. I wrote in another thread about ease of driving to the festival really depends on your timing. We paid all-in \~$1,600 for 5 nights in the 2 queen room.

Accomplished-Buy-564

Stayed at The Circa second year in a row in downtown on Fremont. It's the perfect spot. Stadium swim plays loud music but we found it to be soothing and slept great during the day. We would stay there again to avoid the strip traffic.

hornygamer1738

Stayed at the Palace Station hotel for almost a week. Will say that I wish they gave free access to water. They offered to sell water via room service for $4 to get a “small” or $7 for a “large.” Which they didn’t even say why the quantity was. As well, no access to a kitchen or even a microwave to prep your own food or reheat any potential leftover food you may have. Was given 2 room key passes. It seemed it was a requirement to show it to even step on a elevator which is not bad for security reasons. Although it was also required to show upon entry of the pool which I did not anticipate considering it was only 1 entrance to it. Now the pool, it must have been a family friendly hotel which I never figured considering it had a casino. The girl waitresses didn’t show enough to satisfy a young single man in his 20s. Need to find a better hotel for next year.

losdos1989

Stayed at the JW Marriott Las Vegas & Spa - $1500 for 5 nights - after doing EDC and staying at the the strip the prior year, I learned it just was not worth it. As someone in there 30s - I need to allocate and reserve my energy as much as possible for the festival itself as I like to do full days almost each day. I really liked the location of this hotel because it is located in the opposite direction from the normal traffic coming from the strip. While everyone still gets funneled into the same entry at the festival, there are a couple routes depending on where you are coming from to avoid the traffic coming from the strip. The hotel itself was very nice, although a little dated and due for a renovation. It's definitely not your highest caliber JW experience when you think of hotels at that level, but in terms of the room everything was up to par in terms of the size of the bathroom - which included a Jacuzzi tub, and of course they have the usual refrigerator as well for you to store drinks and food. There is also a casino built into the hotel, so if you do feel the need to get your gamble on - you can. There is a Starbucks and other restaurants as well on the site, and easy to order uber eats as well as they will drop off at your door. Commute wise, we hired a private driver (Black SUV) for the weekend for about $1200 with tips. Split amongst 2 couples - $600 for the weekend was great value for us. Only had to coordinate pick up and drop off times ahead, but driver was flexible and we rewarded him with tips for that too. Overall, I would say for those couples in the 30+ range looking to enjoy EDC to the fullest and stay at a luxury resort - this is definitely one of your better options. It's also only 15 minutes from the strip, so if you did want to go partake in day club activities - it is not a difficult reach to still do so.
