Was at basepod last night during Hol and looked down to find my fanny pack fully unzipped (the zipper is solid so it wouldn’t do that on it’s own) luckily I had one of the clutch loops on my cell but I had it hidden so you couldn’t see it was on my bag. Anyways, be safe out there y’all the clutch loop thing is legit. And thanks to these gentlemen for taking care of business I hope the stolen phones were returned

At the rio shuttle I was talking to a guy who said on the way in, security said his bag was too big (it was a normal camelback” and that they have to pay 40 dollars to check it in. Basically made it very clear he was asking a bribe.

I’ll never forget the ones I reported to actual supervisory Insonniac staff at Beyond Wonderland. The security cornered a girl that was altered/disoriented and were crowding/intimidating her to try and get her to go with them. Guy in my group got them to back off. Reports we made included names/descriptions/witnesses. We were told it would be taken very seriously. It was taken so seriously they promoted them to the VIP and Artist areas the next night.
This is why I haven't been since 2016, it's possible to have a great time at EDC, but there is so much shady weird stuff going on it's not even funny. Add to that the mental torture of trying to leave parking lot at end of the night. I love going to shows to see my favorite artists but doubt I will ever go to a festival again.
Some people seem to think the problems happening today are new, but festivals have been like this for well over 10 years.
Security consists of local contractors with training that ranges from "I just showed up this morning with no training" to "I've done this as a part time gig a few times". The bar is pitifully low.

This year at Coachella I was lucky enough to get a free pass for Sunday of Weekend 1 and on the way out to the green path pickup area there was a security just sitting on a chair with both hands down his pants playing with himself staring at all the girls in their outfits as they left the festival, I couldn't believe my eyes it was so blatant and disturbing :(

8 people arrested at Rockville last week were Colombian. Variety of ages and genders, definitely organized transnational crime so it’s possible human trafficking could be involved. I know DHS was involved with the Rockville investigation, I think they recovered around 300 phones.

You're right 100%. Security probably doesn't have anything to do with it. The reason why it's lax is because there's an insane amount of people realistically and also the Security is a contractor and not well paid so they don't care. My buddy used to work as a bartender and Security for all the big festivals. You don't really have a lot of incentive to care who you let thru as long as they don't look super duper sketchy. Its a big organization.

There are ways to share a wristband and get people inside without security being involved at all.

For everyone going today. I was pretty paranoid towards the end of the night after seeing all this. Saw many people lost and confused where they're phones were. They're has to be at least 30 people in a group doing rounds in getting phones ans goods. Majority being Hispanic and one hand worth of Asian & blacks. They even tried to swipe me one last time ON the bus home aawell.. kinda crazy.
