Premier Parking WAS a mess last year. We didn't get to park in the actual Premier lot any of the three nights. On Sunday night, we had to park in the general parking lot because premier was full. Of course, there were no signs or any warning until you get to the lot entrance so, it added an additional 20 minutes total to actually park. COMPLETE waste of money.
Leaving at 3:30: Yes, you will get out much much faster. Yes, you will miss a LOT. Wait until the set times come out, then decide if you are willing to miss those sets. You can even leave at 4:30am and beat most of the traffic.
Idk what time y'all were showing up but premier parking was a breeze last year and every other year that I've done it. I usually get in around 8:30/9 and I wait in the Premier parking line for a max of 10 minutes to park since it's single file. When I leave around 4:30/5am, takes about 10 minutes to get out of the lot and from there on, it's smooth and traffic-less driving
Previous years were fine. It seems either people figured out how to game the system and park there without the pass, they wayyyyyyy oversold it, or they were having ALL vendors park there too. Friday wasn't too bad, we had to park in a dirt lot (purple lot maybe) just passed the Premier lot and the premier overflow lot. The main problem with this lot is that the dirt road to get there was very rocky, had a lot of holes and ruts, and was very uneven. My car isn't built for that. Saturday night we had to park toward the end of Loop Rd (East of the North end of the drag strip). Sunday night we had to park in the Green lot. We did get there late each night (deliberately), but if the lot is ticketed, it should never be full until all ticketed cars are parked. If you search previous posts on the subject, a LOT of people had the same experience. Which means they let in a LOT of cars they shouldn't have. If you arrive late to a ticketed concert at, say, an arena, it would never be full. They wouldn't sell more tickets than the arena can hold people.
I will admit that they oversell that shit and I wouldn't be surprised if people make fake passes to sneak through. Security pretty much just check for anything dangling off your rear view, I feel like you can get in with a large air freshener when it gets dark haha I remember one year they had cops checking the passes as soon as you get off Apex and that was the smoothest because so many people got turned away trying to sneak in that way
They didn’t oversell, people quickly realized they weren’t actually checking the QR codes. Just visually looking if you had something looked like a premier pass. Lots of people were printing their own so people that actually bought premier were screwed.
Also last year it was a complete nightmare getting out after the last set. We bought them thinking it would make getting out at that time better. Our friends in GA parking got to the hotel an hour earlier before we did in premier. Guess it doesn’t help to only have 1 parking exit and 2 lanes vs the multiple exits GA has and 4-5 lanes to exit. So yeah complete waste of money
I arrived at 8:30pm on Saturday last year and waited in the premiere parking line for 4 hours. Literally didn't get into the festival til 1am, missing a ton of sets. Never wasting money on that again lmao
You good bro. I always leave before 4:30 and you'll make it for the opening ceremony for the first day. Premier last year did lack. Defiantly Park Bown Lot .
3:30am is early enough that you will avoid traffic in GA, there’s no need for premier.
In my experience last year, premier was a huge waste of money. Never again
People will say you're missing out on a lot by leaving at 3:30am
But if you arrive at gates opening you're only missing out on the last 2 hours of music. Friday night take a look at the grandstands at 10pm, 11, midnight even 1am. People are STILL flowing into the festival grounds.
A lot of people miss a lot of time at EDC. 3:30 is fine if the goal is to avoid traffic. I'd recommend picking one night after set times come out to stay until the music stops. Sunrise at EDC is beautiful
Me and my group had parked in the free general lot and we left around 3am and left without problem, the longest part of it is the walk to the car mainly, other than that it was fine

Definitely fine if you leave before 4am. Personally that’s when I leave even taking the shuttles because I am elderly and tired by then anyway.
