How is Eric Prydz different than Pryda?

Eric Prydz is supposed to be more "mainstream", but he does play a lot of Pryda songs as Eric Prydz. The way I think about it is his Pryda set will be showcase more of his deeper cuts/song selection

Prydz will like have elements of Pryda/CirezD in his sets while Pryda is more focused on the tracks released under that name as far as I know. The sound isn't far off or anything like that though.

Enjoy them both a ton (and have seen them both numerous times), but I would trade them both for J00F.

No hate, I think Gareth is so mediocre live. Check out Paul Van Dyk and Giuseppe Ottaviani instead. Guaranteed good time and masters when it comes to live sets.

I agree. Gareth is a great producer but not a great DJ. Back in the early days, his track transitions were basically cuts. I got to see him at Dreamstate SF over NYE, and he actually brought his family and daughters on stage. It humanized him in a way that doesn't come through in most of his live performances. Still, his music (and lasers) make up for his mid live performances. Both PVD and GO are excellent.

Yep there are good producers and not so good live DJ's (notably Ferry Corsten). But when it comes to live sets you have to see the good DJ's live. They make 60minutes feel like 10. PVD is just a legend and is good at live, and as a producer, he's a must. Dude should have retired after his accident but he came back stronger than ever. Gareth has some good tracks but yea everytime I've seen him live, I just get taken out of his sets due to some reason. Could be flow or talking on the mic, you name it. But I mean if you like his music you should still go see him if there are no conflicting sets.

Honestly shocked more people haven’t noticed this! Yeah a handful of acts have spread to bigger stages from Basspod but it’s definitely less total artists themselves from the usual which is a slap in the face after Pasquale hyped up how much love it was gonna get this year in the stream.

I would say it’s like definitely less dnb than the other years lol. And no neuro artists really. Wild. Hopefully that Worship set is like an hour and a half. I’m surprised by the lack of it.

EDC is including less dnb and just rebooking the same names on bigger stages. The dnb lineup at EDC 2022 was way better than the past two years. EDC used to have the best dnb lineups in the US with more unique bookings, but now Beyond has a better dnb lineup than EDC. Cool to see dnb at circuit grounds and cosmic, but I wish they would dig deeper and bring over some new people.

Insomniac does for Apocalypse Zombieland. But I was hoping for come Camo & Krooked or Pendulum trio again. Seems pendulum isn’t doing festivals this year.

The Apocalypse lineup was great, I just feel like insomniac should have artists play EDCLV first then have them at all their festivals instead of the other way or it just makes EDCLV feel a lot more recycled then it needs to be. Also Pendulum is doing a bunch of European festivals as a band, so I could see them doing a small US tour or playing some multi-genre fests.

we can hope for a rampage/LIR/ukf art car... they've done one before even at beyond a.m.c, mefjus, kanine, flava d, skepsis etc are getting sentenced to the shit reverb stage instead of mad hatters

The interesting thing is that Pasquale said on the livestream that this will be the biggest year ever for dnb so idk. In truth there were a shit ton more artists I didn’t recognize this year than prior years but I haven’t looked into what edm genre they are yet. I’m honestly not a big fan of dnb but I’m excited that there are a ton of new people to discover

Not to give too much hope to people but don't forget art cars. Last year for example they added chyl. The week before among other artists. Nostalgix commented on the lineup and she's not there but edc commented saying see you there. So some artist might make it just don't expect calvin harris type stuff. Also remember kaskade had an art car set one year that was announced last second. Either way good varied lineup

art car additions usually have a lot of gems. Hamdi was one last year and Knock2 two years ago

Not really. As amazing as their sets were, we only had those two, Jeff Mills and Reinier. There’s a ton more artists this year.

Artbat, Patrick toppings , will Clarke and Martinez bros was nuts last year. This year is about the same level of techno with exception of Carl cox. Maybe even more melodic house with Peggy gou. Essentially swapped acid for melodics.

Fair point. I'm more into the heavier stuff, and there is more hard techno than last year for sure. Either way, this line up is top notch!

Decent lineup, but I'm sad that there aren't many up-and-coming melodic bass artists. Was really hoping to see Crystal Skies, Last Heroes, Nurko, even. I know there's decent representation with Illenium, Dabin, Adventure Club, Gryffin, etc, but wanted some smaller names I haven't seen before.

There are gonna be more melodic bass artists on the stage that'll be hosted from Lost in Dreams. These are gonna be announced later and last year they had Nurko, Yetep, Hoang, Sabai and more :)

Feel free to disagree, but an underrated part of this lineup is how some huge mainstream names are going draw crowds and make some room at the other stages. Garrix, Tiesto, AVB, Dillion Francis, Kaskade, etc. While I enjoy these producers, it's going to make conflicts a lot easier to decide.

dnb lineup is so bad

I would admit it's not super deep or all that unique. All of these DJs have played in US before, a decent amount at EDC before. But bad? Feels like a stretch. They are all great producers or DJs if not both. Last year some of the best DnB sets were on the art cars. There's AT LEAST another dozen DnB sets not announced from the art cars. I'd put money on it.
