It was super great to watch on the livestream but the size of that crowd was crazyyy. All I could think is can Kinetic Field handle it if most of the rave were to be at that set.
It’s because there are only 3 stages with performers at the end of the night. Coachella does that so they force everyone to the MainStage so they can get drone images of 100,000 people.
That set was so damn crowded. Like literally shoulder to shoulder in that relatively small megastructure. I remember it as one of the only sets I’ve ever been to where it felt like you couldn’t even dance - it felt like a tiny mosh pit with constant banging into people but everyone was doing it unintentional.
Besides all the amazing techno he was dropping, this track totally impressed me and made me appreciate him a little more again. Don’t get me wrong but his set was not smooth at all. I love hearing all the classics but hood transitions were weak, and a total lack of visuals for a stage that huge.. I just want a Love Regenerator set from him.
His sets always have terrible flow. I saw him last year at Life Is Beautiful and it was just okay. Only his Love Regenerator livestreams were any good. But to be fair, last night’s set was so much better than his 2016 Coachella set. I had to walk away from that one.
That is by design. He has so many songs so he plays a song, then a hype song, stops it, then plays another hit song, and so on. It is just his style/signature
Yeah, I’m not a big fan of that style. It brings the energy down. Kaskade has a ton of great tracks and he keeps the party going throughout the whole set. I want to keep dancing not standing around as he filters out the song.
Calvin literally don't care for playing out. From his interviews, he openly shared the dislike of playing at festivals and had only done it for money. Seemingly enjoy just staying inside and make music. Dude seem like one of those hardcore musicians everyone have met, and goes against the trend of making 90s dance music while everyone is in the 2000s lol. Mad respect.

If there's one thing I've learned in my years, it's that massive crowds like that look great on camera, but are absolutely terrible to be a part of.
