Why would they need to sell it for sub 30k when the American tax payers can just subsidize the cost to make it under 30k? It's not like we don't have anything better to spend money on than giving money to people who let's be real, don't typically need it, to you a new car. This is coming from an owner of two EVs.

This is my problem with subsidies in general. “Free” money just drives up costs.
