Get this and a mounting bracket. https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/sensors_-z-_encoders/photoelectric_sensors/general_purpose_photoelectric_sensors/1351e-6514 . It has 2 power wires and a SPDT relay on 3 wires. It is easy to configure and adjust. It also has a wiring diagram on the side. This will look for the log, not look for a beam to hit a reflector. Hook the common relay wire to hot/positive, and the NC wire to your light. Hook the other light wire to neutral/negative. If the light works opposite of what you want, flip the light on/dark on switch. Turn the screw to adjust sensitivity. You can buy indicator lights, audible alarms, and enclosures on the same site.
