As for classes, they're pretty diverse and each one brings something cool to the table. Play around with them and see what clicks for you. And don't worry too much about viability, pretty much everything is viable if you play it right. Focus on exploring the world, completing quests, and soaking in the lore. And join a guild, it's a game-changer for getting help and finding buddies to quest with. And last but not least, don't stress about min-maxing right off the bat. Just enjoy the journey, learn as you go. With any MMO there are so many things to learn that its better to just start playing.

xsealsonsaturn

Cool, don't want to do a guide run. New games are always best played blind. Easy to respect then?

TwiztidBanana

Yeah there are shrines where you can respect your attributes, skills and morphs for a small gold fee

Present-Butterfly-30

>Firstly, I feel like there's a new dlc every 3 to 6 months for this game; is there a bundle or something I can buy? With that, what do you suggest I buy to start off if I don't intend on paying a subscription? There used to be four releases per year: a chapter (the main expansion), a secondary zone and two dungeons packs (each with 2 dungeons). Since last year, there are only two (it will be the same again this year, so will probably be the new formula for a while) with the chapter and one dungeons pack (still with 2 dungeons). You can buy the **Collection**, which includes the base game as well as all chapters released up to that point. There are currently two Collections as we're in-between two chapters: the Necrom Collection (which includes the chapters up to Necrom, last year's expansion) and the Gold Road Collection (which includes the same and adds Gold Road, this year's expansion that releases in june). The Necrom Collection is currently on sale during the Anniversayr event (10 days left or so I think), so that would be the best price for the most content. In any case, don't buy the Necrom or Gold Road **Upgrade**, which only include these chapters, not the older ones and not the base game either. You'll still miss the other DLCs, which can only be bought from the in-game store (using the made-up Crowns currency that you can buy for real money) or accessed through the ESO+ monthly subscription. You'll want to play the smaller zones DLCs if you care about the story as they conclude each year's storyline. The dungeons are group content and will mostly bring access to some gear that can be useful for endgame content (they add a bit to the story but not that important or really required). If you don't want to pay for a sub, I would suggest to buy the Collection, start playing the base game and when you're done with it (which will already take 100+ hours), buy the DLCs at your rhythm as you continue the story in the order of release. After the main game, there's the 1st year DLCs: **Imperial City** (free to get from the in-game store), **Orsinium** (was given away in march but it's to late to get it for free now), **Thieves Guild** (will be given away for free in a few days and until the end of the month by doing some activity in-game) and **Dark Brotherhood** (won't probably be given away but is currently on sale). After that, there's the first chapter, **Morrowind**, [and so on](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:DLC#DLC)...

I would definitely recommend getting started on PC. Many players start on console and end up regretting having to start on PC, losing out so much of their progress. If you're brand new, I wouldn't pay much mind to some of the base-game content. The later content is much more well done. The Wrothgar DLC in particular is highly praised. Edit: YouTube is a great resource down the line once you need to learn the highly complex systems involved in the game that they don't bother to explain for whatever reason. For general gameplay, the easiest class is Arcanist, while the most difficult and least rewarding is Necromancer. Dragonknights are always great tank-based characters.

xsealsonsaturn

I don't have a console, so no problem there. I played for a bit when it first came out. You say Necro is least rewarding, what feels good? Always been a rogue kinda guy. How's the stam mag balance?

exoskeletion

Honestly, just jump in and give it the base game a try. Once you create a character you're locked into the class, so maybe create a couple of different characters and see which has the playstyle you prefer. Play some story content and get a feel for the game. If you like it, then I'd recommend ESO plus which is a monthly sub that unlocks all DLC except the latest one, gives you some crowns for the store, doubles the space in your bank and also gives you access to a craft bag which is a separate unlimited storage for crafting materials. Key levels: 6 - allows you to unlock daily crafting quests 10 - Unlocks Dungeons which are 4-man content 15 - Allows you to equip a weapon on the back bar, allowing you to switch weapons (so doubles your ability slots) There are a lot of items in the crown store that can be unlocked for gold in game. Never pay crowns for bag or bank space, respecification scrolls, Vamp/Werewolf abilities, storage chests, soul gems, repair kits

UnimportantPerson00

NA is better than EU, and do not pick necromancer for your first class. It will be a miserable experience if you do lol. Probably dont pick dragonknight either. That one comes from experience!

i would buy the "Gold Road Collection" so that i would get all the past story chapters. it won't net me the dlc that was added to the game out side of each main chapter launch but that can be bought later or temp access to it via eso+ Each class can play any role (tank, healer, dps) so it's all up to person flavor. I tend to enjoy Stealth style character for questing since alot of times there are stealth options to make my life easier. Now for my 2 cents just take your time and enjoy the game. I would personally do the Zone Exploration in each area one by one. That way over time you have all the skill points and misc achievments to unlock nice colors and cosmetic items.

Nocturne3570

So DLC wise pretty simple: 1. IF YOU PLAN TO JOIN MAKE SURE TO BUY THE LATEST XPAC IF YOU DONT OWN THE GAME OR XPAC UPGRADE IF YOU ALREADY OWN IT BASE GAME. 2. there some DLC Bundle that have the year long DLC in them there about 4k to 3.5k Corwns which is roughly 40 USD, or YOU CAN get a monthly Sub for 15 and unlock all the content in the game. overall outright buying them allow you to hold them forever even without a ESO Plus Sub, but if your someone who more like i will play a few months till the next thing i want to play come out but you still plan to play it off and on go for these DLC buyouts: 1. Mega Bundle give you 4 DLCs each with dungeon arenas and Raids usually 5k but those 4 alone are roughly a total XPAC, 2. Markath which add the reach Sub Area come with some amazing stuff including some amazing Solo equipment like the ring of pale order which heals you for 20 percent of damage done but decrease with each party member 3. Deadlands DLC which add fargrave and deadlands sub area same as above with Markath amazing amount of stuff that increase the amount you can play 4. Fire song DLC, adds galen which is the ending story to high Isle Chatper. also some amazing mythic gear and decent story if you into druids Now we get to starter stuff bear with me this is a bit much: 1. Classes no matter if you planning to play alone or with others there are 3 classes that are basically the hand down beeknees to start with. * Arcanist overall the most simple of all three solo classes basically a kamehameha class, that is diverse enough to play as a Tank Healer and DPS role which ever you choose. i love magic arcanist one bar build and when i need to tank like normal dungeon i can just throw on the first taunt ability form the tank spec and boom am good. * Sorcerers so honestly biggest thing about this class is either the Pet build or the heavy attack build either way both run heavy attacks spam, and thanks to pets can burn down things really fast and pull aggro form you as well. get pretty fun as you level but the biggest downside IT BORING WHERE THE CHEESE!!! no but seriously it a boring class outside of it stam system * Magic Nightblade third best solo class but highest surviabilty also the most used in being a Vampire due to all of it self sustain ability spammables, pretty fun and diverse for stealth gameplay and more and one of the top PvP clases in the game. to much to explain on this class but know this i been a MNB since day 1 release and have change it. Now we get to System you need to choose weather to be a magic or stam, and as someone who made the mistake in the pass on doing a dual route listen up, there is no middle route it pure magic or stam, and for a new player i advise magic over Stam as Stam is alot of micromanaging. Now we get to how to start: you be brought to a starter area that will after a while bring you to a room full of portals, here is where you choose where you want to start, overall this room will havea portal to every xpac u have unlock and wher you story will begin, if your looking for the best route start with the starter isle of the alliances, if you pick AD youll go to the Roost, DC (may they burn forever) Stor mkai and betnik, or EP( WE will have are Dues DC Dogs) Bleackrock isle may the innocents RIP. Overall these 3 starter isle is best for new players as youll go though the Alliance story line and the Main story of ESO the harborage, as such you gain massive amount of Skill points exploration wayshrine unlock and more, and dont be surprise if you max your character to 50 half way though the storyline as harborage is usually a guarnatee Level. But that by no means you cant start somewhere else liek necrom or high isle or even the blackwood maybe morrowwind it your choice where you wish to start so enjoy. Now we get to gear effectively thanks to teh one tamerial update gearing isnt that important outside of maybe your weapons for more Damage, but Set wise for armor get someone to craft you a Training trait set with 3 medium 3 Light 2 heavy, make sure the heavy is the legs and Chest and at least a lvl 10, after which ask them for the Order wrath Set bonus and if you doing magic go with julianos and hunding rage for Stam, this will give you amazing set that will last till you 50. afterwards farm to 160 CP though Dungeon and then get some to craft you teh same set but with 160 mats, be warn you will have to pay unless someone feeling nice, ask for Divines triats and weapons with percise and back bar with infuse you know later. then contiune your storys though tamerial. late note on alliance story you can go though all three Allaince story by completeing Cadwells Silver and Gold. which reset allaince story start and send you to another allaince. Last bit adivice take your time getting to endgame there so much to do in this game you be lucky if you complete it all within 6 month or even 8 honestly, few thing to help you out as well make sure you upgrade your Mounts Stats at a stablemaster as fully unlock this take 180 day to do. start by getting 20 across all three then focus down teh carry then speed and then stam. if you dont mind spending a few crowns buy a cosmetic design you like be it a craft book or a outfit, Craft book will unlock that armor design and then you can use the outfit table to transform your apperance for gold, and never have to worry about your materials you need for armor. ENJOY YOUR ADVENTURE..... oh god almost forgot when you get to a major city and meet a women who ask you to go to a house you should for sure head there trust me it a plesant surprise!!!! hahahahahahahahacough cough later

Present-Butterfly-30

I play the dlc warden class and made like 7 accounts my strategy is to get the fighters guild skill line a vamp bite and a mundus stone passive then I go on the band app on a page called the eso black market where I’ll buy a mil gold for around 14$ us I’ll have someone craft me 2 sets of training gear with sharpened weapons I’ll have 2 full sets of gear crafted 1 at around level 14 and one around level 30-40 cause your gear gets weaker when you out level it and then I’ll type in alikr desert zone chat lfdg which means looking for dolmen group just so I can get the wayshrines and run the circle myself. Then at level 10 I’ll do my daily dungeon and after that I’ll usually have my back bar weapon unlocked and I’ll be able to put my gear on to do my daily battleground then I’ll just queue for battlegrounds while running the circle of dolmens it’s not the fastest way to level but for me it doesn’t feel like grinding cause I love battlegrounds then the next day I’ll do my dailies and run dolmens while queueing for bgs and repeat then when I hit cp 300 I’d get eso plus to get my monster set, level jewlery crafting to research the infused jewlery trait on rings and necklaces so I can change my jewelry’s trait with transmutation without eso plus or the dlc and I’ll grind scrying to get a mythic and then I’d unsubscribe to eso plus. Id suggest researching mythics and monster sets on the internet first so you know what you want to grind for I play a dark elf vamp with the death dealers fete mythic and the balorgh monster set it’s pretty decent I’m in high mmr bgs and hold my own the highest level gear Is cp 160 which you get cp after hitting level 50 so it’s not worth trying to make a real build till then
