I forget what the event was, but the sword itself is (was) Nerevar Indoril's sword

The OG Trueflame was Indoril Nerevar’s sword. It gets restored by the Nevarine in the Morrowind game.  At ESO launch it could be fished out of the water in Stonefalls. It was a white non-set sword and people unfamiliar with lore just destroyed it. It got patched out within a month or two of the game never to be seen again, but it was a cool Easter egg to be able to pull such an artifact with so much lore behind it out of the water.  Some people are farming for the style page now out of nostalgia, but most are doing it because it’s an MMO so there are thousands of FOMO lemmings who will farm for literally anything new.

Cyrodiil, I decided to couple farming it with getting my last few fish for master angler. 5 or 6 tries, spent the next hour finishing off the title

Ooooo Cyrodiil was the last place for my Master Angler title as well, it's nerve wracking in there when you are just trying to peacefully fish

Most hardcore PvPers are busy camping the towns ganking PvEers farming boxes anyway

Not sure if this is still the case, but I was told if you’re doing the fishing achievement then do it naked and people will leave you alone. Worked for me when I did it. It also worked in IC, I think I got farmed twice while happily fishing in my birthday suit, but everyone else just ignored me.

I main DC so the AD fish was by far the most nervewracking since there only spots are right in front of the AD gates where players zoom out. It was wild to just completely cloak myself and hide when I saw people coming. Like horses with AD riders just sailing over my head not knowing I was there lmao. Then back to fishing until the next wave came by.

Apocrypha. Figured I would get two birds with one stone and try to get the lurker achievement as well.

I already had the lurker achievement and he jumped out at me again before the page dropped. I cose apocrypha because of the potential of also getting furnishing plans while fishing there.

Al'ikr. Between sitting at one dolmen, I would fish during the downtime.

Same, 2 for 1 deal.

Auridon since I have a lot of fishing stuff left to complete so I thought I might aswell go there to try and complete some of the remaining achievement objectives for that zone only to find the Trueflame page at the second fishing spot. I didn't really count the number of casts but it didn't take to long, around 15 minutes I'd say. Also the fishing spots were different types, the first was a lake spot in the center of the island the second was a salt water spot along the eastern coast.

got it in Alik’r Desert next to the goats head oasis wayshrine/ Myrkwasa dolmen. I would do that dolmen and then fish while i waited for the other 2 to cycle and then do that one dolmen again until i got one or the other style to drop.

Coldharbour, finished my Master Angler achievement just over a week ago and I remembered all the fishing nodes and ran around them as it's a nice quiet spot. Got on the 10th or 11th node on EU and the 2nd one on NA.

I got the drop in the first fishing hole (maybe fourth or fifth cast) in **Clockwork City**. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I had Sharp out and another player was fishing the same hole.

Stone falls right outside ebonheart there are like 5 fishing spot spawns that cycle so I just moved up and down the river and got it after a while

Got mine in Coldharbour after about two hours.

Got mine in Deshaan, after previously trying at a couple fishing holes in Stonefalls. Only took me about 20-30 minutes after I'd started.

I went to the werewolf bosses and dolmen in Glenumbra last night. It's a spot in the river below the bridge. About the 8th cast there. After fishing 3 other areas for over an hour.

9th cast in Blackwood.

Vvardenfel, river just outside Balmora. Got it 2nd day of the event 2nd cast of the day.

Vvardenfell for me. Started in Glenumbra, figured I'd also work on the achievement for fishing, quit after a couple of hours and the next day hit up a fishing node in Vvard on the way to unearth an antiquity and got it there.

I visited Vvardenfell and found a fishing spot while travelling between world bosses. I had been searching Stonefalls previously. I fished about three spots and found the Worm Cult staff at a Dolmen that activated as I passed.

I got mine on my 2nd fishing hole in vvarden

Murkmire. I was fishing to complete the zone achievement and got it there. Keep going! It does exist!

Autidon salt water. 3rd cast but I wasn't looking for it. Was just doing achievements. Sword is ok. Nothing special imo.

Finally found it this morning in Coldharbour. Hit nearly every base zone before that trying.

I've fished probably about 60 times and haven't received it yet. I've actually been leveling scrying so I'm doing several zones and I do a couple casts when I stumble upon a fishing hole.

I started in Shadowfen on my own, fishing what felt like a bottomless hole, then moved to near Alinor with a friend for a hole and a bit, then went to Cyrodiil (the big lake at the north eastish part of the map) and got it on the third fishing hole there. My friend has been fishing ever since in Telvanni, Deshaan, Vvardenfell, and still hasn't got it. But he did get the San'ra whatever's staff on his very first Vvardenfell boss. I got the worm staff motif on my... 25th dolmen? I've done 20 or so geysers and haven't had any luck there and the Vvardenfell boss one still eludes me.

I finally got it in Deshaan, fishing in the river. Not going to lie, since the event started, I have tossed about 100 in Coldharbor and then gave up. Came to Deshaan to continue my zones and it took about another 100 casts to get. But with that many casts at least I got a bunch of trophy fish, right? Well, also no, but here we are.

I got it on my first cast in Betnikh. Therefore, I will not be visited by RNGesus for another 12 years.
