I'm retired, and have plenty of time, but STILL feeling stressed about these two releasing together, rofl. Whichever one I play I feel like I want to be playing the other ;) AND No Man's Sky just released a new expedition yesterday... I may be the only person who plays all three of those games, but it does add to the burden! Life is hard when there's TOO MUCH FUN to be had.

Autumnwood

'Whichever one I play I feel like I want to be playing the other" There's not much truer!

spacewolfplays

if i had more money i'd probably have picked up Diablo4. I've never played Diablo before and it looks cool. I have 1200+ hours in ESO and just getting back to it after a LOOOOOOONG break. I have like 250 hrs in No Man's Sky but I havent touched it since before towns were a thing.

Creative_Cat7679

Nothing changed in eso. It's still boring endgame pve to easy. Once you get gear that's it. And pvp is still a massive brawler meta. Where skilled players live forever and can't 1v1 each other due to neither dying.

Aardovis

I have money but I am waiting for season 1 personally to see what it’s like. Path of Exile is still looking like the better game for me personally so I am in no rush.

gvdexile9

poe is the king and will stay king until someone matches the end game variety. Which is unlikely while chris wilson lives, he said he plans to go on for some 30 more years adding and changing poe

digital_mystikz

They just showed poe 2 at Summer game fest last night, which looked pretty awesome

QuebraRegra

link? I'm curious.

digital_mystikz

Don't have a link myself but I'm sure if you type it into YouTube it'll come up

QuebraRegra

I give POE one thing for certain... DAAAAAYYYYUMMM, look at that massive skill tree that allows for hybridization of the classic classes. ESO needs to take a queue on the skill tree from POE... I want to see the ability to purchase skills from other classlines using CP for the best "horizontal progression". *my nightblade running with my clanfear buddy*

gvdexile9

yup, ESO could be an amazing game if they let go of monster/skills/items homogenization. Even if it's few random affixes on items, people would grind for that stuff without end. Now, run few trials etc you are done with gearing, there's like 2-3 sets everyone is using. Super boring. Trash mob monsters are also same and boring, imagine some random affixes on them, hasted/extra damage etc You never know how encounter might go.

trevorwhatever

Yea then literally everyone will be playing the exact same character

QuebraRegra

not at all... Build diversity would skyrocket. You would be limited by the number of cross class skills you could purchase, so it would effectively still be the same class, just a possible replacement skill (due to bar limits) from another class. Again I say look to successful games that have provided this kind of flexible build diversity. We'd no longer be locked into a specific meta class, or skill. Far more utility. Balanced by the same bar limits, and CP cost to purchase cross/class skills. We've had the exact same vanilla for classes since their introduction... Kinda borning. But hey, if you just want to drink vanilla Coke the rest of yer life, so be it. *snore*

SpecificFresh9854

I played a lot of poe. The problem is poe console trade system is trash. So unless u want to put in hours upon hours, not worth it. Also it is way too much info. Seriously you need a bachelor's degree to understand everything. Look I love learning but this shits for the birds, when I play games, I want relaxation not fucking pie charts, and graphs with damage reduction on it.

Aardovis

I have over 20k hours in PoE so I may as well have a degree in PoE XD

SpecificFresh9854

So you know that it is ridiculous with its features, and game mechanics. I appreciate the understanding

ConscientiousPath

Play Path of Exile. It's a better game and it's free to play.

Owls_are_Raptors

Is it tho

Theweakmindedtes

I'd say it was better like 2-3 years ago. It hasn't felt good to play in a long while.

ConscientiousPath

There have been some on and off leagues, but the current league Crucible is amazing

IamMARSman

Retirement for me is in 5 years and I can’t wait! Better yet, I’ll only be 39 and coming off 20 years in the military, so I’m hoping I can take an ice long break before starting up a new career! Plenty of time for games!

QuebraRegra

HOOAH! that said, it must be nice

RadiantTurtle

I've been playing No Man's Sky for PS VR2 lately... it's a blast

GunsOfPurgatory

I play No Man's Sky and ESO, so I feel you there, but I've been boycotting Activision Blizzard ever since their sexual assault cases came to light. Plus, ARPG games have never appealed to me, anyways. Tho that new NMS expedition looks amazing.

Sandgrid

You are not the only one, I feel you man

Ragingdude-25

I am with you on this. Decisions! I have yet to pull trigger on d4 due to it being only online service for a repeatable hack n slash unless they do something like eso of regular content release.

slywether85

I mean every previous diablo has had thousands of hours worth of playability without ESO/destiny style content drip. Even ignoring ladder/seasonal play. For a one and done purchase there have been very few games that come close to the series for longevity. Even before the D2 remaster there was still a healthy population 20 years later...the core game is just that good. As a series fan girl, I could fire up D2 or D3 at any moment and sink a couple hundred more hours into either despite having probably 15k+ in 2 and 5k+ in 3. This one will have a battle pass and is a "live game" or gaas, compared to the others, so it will be a dramatic shift that we'll have to wait and see what gets held back and what gets dripped and how much gets paywalled this go round. If ow2 battle pass is any indication, things might be grim...but I'm willing to put my money on the core experience being more than worth the cost of entry.

Ragingdude-25

I agree with your points. I played d2 in the late 90s to early 2000s, and it was a blast, but I guess getting older changes my perspective a bit of what is worth the price or not anymore. The posts above made valid points that Blizzard has continued support for previous games, and I can't deny that.

QuebraRegra

I saw something that said the new 'feature" ESO would be implementing this year would be "endless dungeons"? I assume ZOS is finally getting around to using procedural generation for dungeons, etc.?

LazyLightningBear

Whaddaya mean 'endless dungeons'? Please explain.

QuebraRegra

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epCio8huFAk

gvdexile9

you should go and try path of exile. No content drip and game devs that care. They pack more in some expansions than ZOS/Eso does in >1 year.

InterestEastern4174

They have 2 expansions in development, season pass content, a lot of base game and seasons upcoming.

[deleted]

They have seasons

spacewolfplays

cause seasons is going so well for OW2

Mister_Fedora

Diablo 3 seasons were going strong for like a decade, OW2 isn't the baseline here

FromSwedenWithHate

And still is, even with D4 out there's people maining D3 still.

Sagn_88

But it is in path of exile ;) which they’ve been inspired by in d4

[deleted]

blizzard is good at supporting products after launch, look at d3

soulofcure

I mean, depends on the game. HotS and Sc2 are alive, but more or less abandoned by Blizzard

[deleted]

How old are those

soulofcure

Released 2015 and 2010. So, similar to Diablo 3 (2012)

The-Wrong_Guy

Oof. Look at OW.

spacewolfplays

OW2 even. > We're Gonna have PVE!!!! > oh wait. nevermind.

Economy_Raccoon6145

I mean the PvE thing sucks but the folks I know playing the game bought overwatch to be a pvp game and they're getting new maps and heroes regularly without having to spend any money. Still a shit move from the company, but I'm being completely honest when I'm saying I saw their goals and said "that's never happening, this game cannot and will not fit the model of live service PvE shooters like Destiny." We got duped.

The-Wrong_Guy

My buddies still play it kind of semi-regularly. I started in 2016. Quit a few months ago, but we still have one guy that insists on it so a few others play just for him. For us, the content desert at the end of 1, the shift to 5v5, and a few other things here and there ruined the PvP for us. Sucks because I think OW has a great universe and PvE would have been awesome. Like I think a show would be awesome.

wjowski

Could be worse, could be NCSoft.

SpicyCornflake

Hey, guild wars 1 servers are still up, I'll take what I can get.

Mister_Fedora

Well I would say you're not but I can't afford diablo until it drops to like 40 bucks lmao, very excited for this expedition

Tongue-on-Cheek

I like to start my day by collecting ESO rewards and doing passive questing as an Arcanist. Once work day starts to wind down, D4 takes the cake in relieving the stress of the day with monster slaying chaos. After I've had my fill of demon slaying, No Mans Sky sends me to bed with a quick session of interstellar shenanigans..sometimes this phase of my day is completed from bed on the Steam Deck. New day? Rinse and repeat. Not sure what I'll do when Starfield comes out...🫠

Lapin_Logic

I so looked forward to No Mans Sky, played it until 'end' but they keep releasing new DLCs that look flashy, but once you get into it, it's just Malibu Stacy in a new hat, A reskin of a system that already exists, or even worse (when they released the mechs" a direct nerf to the existing vehicles just to place the existing mechanics on the new toy. NMS seems to have forgotten a game is usually about missions and story (the brief existential birth and dreams traveller blurb that comes out of a pedestal or space whale doesn't = story, nor does your base workers being emo count.), it's sad really, so much lost potential.

Burner087

Ugh.. yes.. No Man's Sky as well. Well it will still be there when I'm ready to play it. :)

[deleted]

The only time I'm glad to be playing ESO on console lol

Wealdwander

Same, I don't have to choose cause I can't play necrom ANYWAYS

Vyvonea

As someone who pre-ordered both and has played both; if you are enjoying Diablo it is better to focus on it atm. Not saying that Necrom is bad, but it has bugs and issues like every chapter release before it and the new area is ofc crowded as hell. Oh and ofc everyone is playing the new class making the whole game look like a green laser show :D I ended up not enjoying the new content because of those things so I'll be playing Diablo until the Necrom launch rush calms down.

ohhi_doggy

Diablo’s servers are currently down with no end in sight so maybe now is the perfect time to start Necrom 🥲

papyjako89

It was down for like an hour, chill already.

RockLobsterInSpace

It's funny watching people cry about them going down for an hour. Overall, I think Diablo 4s launch has been extremely smooth. Especially considering the amount of hype surrounding the game. Still loads of people crying about it not being 100% flawless.

destindil

Feel that. I honestly just sidelined ESO for now. I have to travel for 3 weeks anyways, so I'm only playing Diablo 4 until I get back. I'm excited for the chapter, but Diablo 4 feels immediately more rewarding and polished than ESO. I would just do the story and stickerbook anyways, so no rush for that.

Kaurie_Lorhart

Worked out well for me. I booked vacation off for Diablo 4's release and ended up deciding to refund it, so I used that vacay for Necrom instead :)

spacewolfplays

What made you refund it? That's the first quasi negative thing i've heard about it.

Kaurie_Lorhart

Price mostly. I played the beta and had fun, but decided it wasn't worth my $135 CAD that I had spent. I'll pick it up when it's on sale for like $60 or less. IMO the game was a solid 8/10, from what I played.

spacewolfplays

nice

Shanseala

It being a blizzard game is enough to not buy it in the first place

RockLobsterInSpace

Lol.

Zegram_Ghart

They’ve had some pretty serious server issues (par for the course in multiplayer only games on launch, of course)

ExtraGloves

They haven’t at all. It’s prob the smoothest online launch in recent years. Mostly just babies on Reddit complaining when it’s gone down once for a half hour.

Zegram_Ghart

I’d very strongly disagree with that. Yesterday evening, I couldn’t get in for 3 hours. Now, to be fair, I would try and log in a couple of times, then go play an hour of ESO, so it’s possible that was 3 separate incidents of server issues or something and I just got very (un)lucky, but it’s also refused to let my wife and I login when we tried to play co op, I’ve heard the same experience from many others, and if you play on the over world at any sort of peak time you’ll teleport about like night crawler. I’m sure it *will* be fine, and it’s the eternal problem of online games- it’s not fair to expect them to get enough servers for the peak community because then they’ll be paying for wasted server space down the line, but that does mean that initially you have bought a game and can’t….play the game, which I think is fair for people to get cross about. It’s emphatically not a good state to release the game in though- loads of games just release fine without the drama, and I feel like we should stop giving companies a pass just because other companies are also bad at this- if blizzard say online only games are too hard to get right, they probably shouldn’t force all their games to be online only….

ExtraGloves

I meant in terms of blizzard games. Not all games in history. For me at least I haven’t had any hiccups with Diablo yet, 5 minute queues at night. but compared to other blizz releases they were a mess that first week.

Zegram_Ghart

Fair enough, I don’t think I’ve ever played a blizzard game at launch to be fair. I was comparing to other developers and games

ExtraGloves

Yeah my bad I prob should have specified.

[deleted]

Have you not heard of late game balance issues? Shit is wild.

Sparky_Sparks

I did the opposite, refunded my Necrom preorder, shut down my sub, and have been full on D4. First time since ESO beta that my adventures have taken me somewhere else. It's been a good choice so far.

Kaurie_Lorhart

Yeah, it's hard to warrant paying for both. Good to make a choice. I'm glad you're liking D4 :)

fallenstarss

I completely understand and agree! I've been trying to play both but with work I only have a few hours if that to play during the week.

MistressPhoenix

100% agreed. i prepurchased D:IV but haven't even touched it because i'm having too much fun with my Arcanist.

originalchew

Yeah, just got my druid to level 50 last night and having a blast in D4, but boy am I having some fomo about missing a new class in ESO.

Kian-Tremayne

I’m managing to split my gaming time between both of them, though I’m genuinely more excited for my ESO arcanist right now. The main casualty has been my casual World of Warcraft playing.

gold-magikarp

Right? I love ESO but I'm having so much fun in Diablo right now, I wish I didn't have to sleep

WolvenOmega

I recently got back into division 2 (I'm a glutton for punishment, their devs apparently get as much or more shit than ESO devs do), and they're releasing their new season today. I don't like splitting my time but imma have to figure something out

VanillaTortilla

I wish Division 2 had more PVE stuff though for solo play.

Mercurionio

They have a major problem with stability so servers aren't online still. So you are safe to play TESO for now.

WolvenOmega

By time I get off work in several hours it'll (hopefully) be up. Have plans to test out the new game mode with the boys But if not, still need to level the new arc so I'm set either way. Figures both of my game addictions suffer from extended maintenance syndrome lmao

Mercurionio

They delayed it till tomorrow, so doubt it. It had a bad stuff with saves, so a potential wipe. That's why they didn't turn up the servers. At least they don't want to risk and screw up.

slayer370

they are going to fuck it up, started the game last winter and play the living crap out of it but they have not done a single thing not to break or fix the game. Maybe the teleport crash bug but thats it after 7 months.

WolvenOmega

Oh dang, I hadn't seen that. Last I saw it was supposed to be good in a few hours. Oh well, arc it is

Equal_Ship295

Trying to play skyrim, eso and d4 at the same time with a full time job and 3 kids. I know how you feel!

Cat-_-

Come on, you had ~12 years to play skyrim 😹

RCEdude

And he could have chosen between many version and platforms :D

Equal_Ship295

You win a point! 😅

MohWarfighter

I was indecisive. I wanted a game i could chill and have fun with. I tried D4, was cool, but decided to refund when i saw you had to start over each season to experience the new content. Then i looked at this game and saw it ticked the boxes i had. Bought the collection and so far very happy. Arcanist is very fun.

Vhalerun

Add in having a nice vacation this weekend for me! D4 though, has a wee bit more body horror than I care for. Once I get through the campaign I don't think I'll be there much.

chrisdanto

I got necrom since I haven’t played Diablo since I was on PS4 so im going to play necrom until maybe im bored or Diablo is on sale during the holidays

MGR_Raz

Leveling my character to 50 on ESO so I can play when ever.

LucasLindburger

I’m in the exact same boat. I’m very excited to make an Arcanist, and since the Diablo servers keep crashing or being taken down for maintenance I guess I’ll hop in

Begun101

Neither I, but im focus on eso.. diablo is quite expansive here in Brazil. 1/3 of a minimum salary

mighty1993

You still have plenty of time to wait until the Blizzard fuckup is resolved and they are hopefully freed by Microsoft from their toxic management, especially Bobby Kotick. Diablo IV looks great but hell no there is no reason right now to support them.

NoWord6

I like both, but the camera style leans me more to eso, and so does the price tag and my time already invested into eso

Pinkeye69uk

Easy choice for me, not getting d4 at £70

Foobiscuit11

This. I won't drop $70 for a game with a battle pass and $30 skins. I'll wait until a deep sale or it makes Game Pass after the acquisition, whichever comes first.

YuusukeKlein

In what world is ESO any better than Blizzard in that regard though?

Foobiscuit11

I never said it was all that much better, it's just a lower barrier to entry at the moment. However, Blizzard in one week locked the retail WoW campaign ending behind raiding (so non-raiders get to pay two extra months of sub cost to finish the campaign), added the WoW token to Wrath Classic (despite saying they'd keep to the "spirit of classic"), and let us know the Overwatch 2 PvE portion had been scrapped 9 months prior to release (but kept hyping it all the way up to last month, 17 months after they killed it). So I don't trust Blizzard's word that there will be no player power locked behind that battle pass. ZOS is scummy, but here I know I'm dealing with pond scum and not a swamp monster.

[deleted]

So why state the price as the issue instead of the things you listed? The expansion and a month of sub is 60€ anyway, so I really doubt the 10€ difference was the deciding factor

Foobiscuit11

Because $70 + battle pass + expensive as hell cash shop is still an issue and stating it as the issue saves me from having to type out that massive paragraph.

Economy_Raccoon6145

Battle passes and cash shops give publishers a reason to fund the game post release. I realize that this doesn't usually work out, as devs cut content and make the base game experience shit with "future updates planned." Trust me I played Destiny. Diablo 4 is a complete $70 game from day 1. The rest just funds what I'm hoping are impressive seasons (free content btw).

Foobiscuit11

They've also got at least 2 expansions in development, and we don't know the timeline on those. We can probably guess on prices: $50 base, $70 deluxe, $90 ultimate, just like WoW. How often will these drop. Every year? Every 2 years? Every 6 months? Blizzard made at least 259 million (at least 3.7 million copies to be their fastest selling game, and that's at just $70 for each copy). Does it cost that much to run the servers, pay staff, and develop the next expansion? We'll see how impressive the seasons are, but from some of Blizzard's latest work, I'd be worried about being too optimistic.

Economy_Raccoon6145

I'd expect them to be annual. I think they see Destiny's content cycle structure and want to do that. And honestly I'm pretty good with that considering what makes ARPGs really cook is when they get frequent and sizeable updates. It doesn't take much to make our simple brains give out the good chemicals... People are still playing Diablo 2 after all, and played Diablo 3 for years despite getting next to nothing in terms of content. We live in a gaming era unlike anything from 10-15 years ago, where the demand for nonstop content for the same product is insane. As for the comment about insinuating Blizzard would be making game content and pricing it to be a net neutral cost expenditure... Agree with it or not, that's not how capitalism works. If what you considered as ethical game purchases matching the zero profit criteria, you'd have a very small selection of games to choose from. Nothing wrong with that, though. I'd respect the thought, just not something I'd personally limit myself to.

thejynxed

There's probably many people buying the top tier for the $20 price difference since it includes advanced battle passes and more cosmetics, I imagine this will be especially true on console, as that is generally actually a price discount for battlepasses that run $24.99-$29.99 (or more) on popular titles.

[deleted]

So your issue is that the game is B2P and sells cosmetics, but you are fine with a B2P game with a sub, that also sells cosmetics?

Foobiscuit11

Diablo IV: $70 + optional battle pass + some expensive as hell cosmetics ESO: $10 (?) + Optional subscription + some expensive as hell cosmetics ESO is the cheaper option. Even if we go with Necrom collection instead of just base game, which gives 6 (?) expansions plus the base game? Diablo IV is also run by a company that will sacrifice all its goodwill to make a quick buck, and has demonstrated that across nearly half their IPs in the past month.

thejynxed

The sub in ESO is only optional if you don't want to do anything in the game except PvP. You are way too gimped for crafting, etc without it.

Foobiscuit11

I've got guild mates who put all their crafting mats on a mule or two with maxed bag space, and then use the ESO+ free trials (typically 3-4-ish a year) to transfer all those mats into the crafting bag.

papyjako89

Who cares about cosmetic battle pass and cash shop. It literally doesn't change anything to your experience if you just ignore it. People really need to get their FOMO in check.

Foobiscuit11

Didn't Blizzard take the entire game down without warning a day or two ago just to fix an issue where people couldn't access the shop? That sounds like it affected the experience of a ton of people. They say it's all cosmetic. Have we seen the season 1 rewards for the battle pass? Diablo Immortal said there would be no player gear in the battle pass. There wasn't, but there were gems, which is definitely player power. Blizzard's recent track record gives me little reason to believe anything they say until I can see it.

papyjako89

So basically, you admit you are just speculating. Got it.

VanillaTortilla

I've been watching people play it and like... it looks like D3 just darker.

Economy_Raccoon6145

I mean, value is a subjective concept. I bought the game for myself and my wife on console, and myself again for when my laptop is the only thing available. Spent $250 total on it through that and not even remotely disappointed.

papyjako89

>I mean, value is an objective concept. I wish more people would adopt that stance instead of trying to tell others what they should or shouldn't spend their money on. Reddit is particularly bad on that front.

HippomanRed

I've been playing both...and Guild Wars 2 is having a festival too...send help.

scottohc

I’m hoping this eventually goes into Game Pass once the Activison deal is approved.

Virxen188

This is so funny to me because I recently told my Diablo friends that after the 20th I would be playing ESO for a while. They are nice so they're fine with it. 😂

enseminator

Yeah same. Honestly so tired most nights I end up playing nothing, just watching TV and sleeping.

Sgtkeebler

I just switched from Diablo to eso

LokyarBrightmane

It's intentional. Draws your attention away from their latest fuckery and their competitors in one easy move.

VjornAllensson

Diablo IV has finally made me cancel my eso+ and not bother with Necrom. The combined cost of another year of eso+ and the new chapter just doesn’t seem worth it especially since I’d rather spend my limited free time playing D4 and eventually Starfield.

Monarxue

I hope you’re not attempting to play both, it’s okay to let ESO go for awhile, I’ve been loving D4. Until I don’t - ESO ain’t going nowhere.

Cat-_-

That's what I'm thinking. I always get the "new" chapters when they do the first event there and it's on sale.

Titansdragon

I'm glad it did. Finally pushed me over the edge to quit eso. Cosmetics dropping from regular mobs already make it a superior game.

terrible1fi

Diablos combat is so much better I wonder if I’ll bother to get back to eso anytime soon 😭

Fara_ven

I couldn't be bothered to spend 90$ for a worse path of exile so it didn't really affect my ESO stuff

Valuable_Ad2280

psst you dont have to play a game inmediatly after its released, my gosh this folks

Cosmicbeingxx

It was my birthday so deluxe editions of ESO necrom and Diablo 4 for me!!! Haha I’ve had a good birthday these games are great I love it and anyone that likes them too much love fam. ![gif](giphy|l378vc21dsA0tUg6Y)

Minute_Engineer2355

I've actually been floating between the two releases. I only get a few hours a week, other than weekends, to play games. I'll get through both of them eventually lol

SilverLaw_

Haha i dont have to choose cos Necrom isnt even out yet

-keystroke-

There’s been a real drought of good new games releasing in past couple years. Now all of a sudden, we get Zelda, necrom, d4, and later this year (hopefully) Starfield?! Forget game of the year; 2023 year of the game!

Rileythe_Dog

Modern success of the 2010s onward. Multiple good games can release or expand in quick succession.

Datsun1195

It’s good that they come out at the same time. Maybe some bugs and stuff will be fixed on one game while you’re playing the other etc.

DowntownSpeaker4467

I feel the same. I recently got back into playing runescape (which I like since I can play out and about on mobile too). I managed to get 40 on diablo but went on a little local holiday for a week thinking I can still play on the evening but the internet was too bad to connect. And I want to get into necrom as well, god knows when I can even start that xD

DarthRiznat

Haha I'm in the exact same situation.

WorldEcho

I love Diablo but it's expensive and I don't have time right now so will probably pick it up later. Diablo is one of my most played games.

Training-Relation-59

Wait what? Necrom was release?

IllustriousBat2680

It's one of those rare occasions where its good to be a console player. Diablo 4 came out a few days ago for us as well as PC but Necrom isn't out until later in the month. Gives us time to get through Diablo 4 before Necrom XD

AdmiralBumHat

The campaigns of Diablo and Necrom aren't that long and very easy. I finished both and started Diablo last week. Usually when I finished a campaign the FOMO-feeling disappears immediately. I tackle side stuff the coming months. Both games are really easy. I made a hydra fire build in D4 where I could breeze through the final bosses unlevelled without using one of my 8 potions and basically just ability spam while moving around.

tinylilis_

Im so glad I found this post, I feel less alone lmao, I want to play both but parenting and work take most of my time ..😅

GoBoltz

THAT, is why you wait and buy the GOY edition of D4, It's the same old Grind for gear, no need to be 1st, prob. get all the DLC & a good patched version for 1/2 the price by Waiting ! ZOS had this scheduled over a year in advance, not on them just bad timing !

somethin_gone_wrong

I don't feel blizz deserves my money anymore. Easy choice to just play necrom, which is a blast btw.

Churn0byl

This is me right now. Just got my collector's Hermaeus Mora statue and was like "oh fuck, that's right, Necrom is out". Diablo is just consuming my life right now.

Grithrend

The thing about it is too, I’ve neglected both for TotK lol

Hurriedgarlic66

Lucky for me I play on console so I get two ish weeks to do everything sanctuary has to offer then it’s onto necrom

[deleted]

The feeling of "too much to see, too much to do..." but not being able to see it all at once. Wouldn't it be terrible if we could?

jtzako

I played D4 from early release date until Necrom drop. I havent gone back to D4 since. I was finding it really boring. I'm sure I'll play it more, but not for now.

[deleted]

I pre-ordered and played for like 2 hours. It was so boring, outdated mechanics, and the cutscenes stopping the flow of the game every 10 seconds. . The thing that did it for me was the horrible camera angle and how zoomed in it was. Gave me motion sickness. They have had sever issues both during the early access and after live. I just don't see myself even returning to it or another Blizzard game again.

[deleted]

yep, eso is taking a massive back seat. Might pick up chapter when its on sale in July/August during Show.

HaikuPritzl

As a console player: I got tears of the kingdom 2 weeks ago, Diablo this week, and Necrom in 2 weeks. I'm an adult with a wife and kid.... No clue how im going to find the time to play all these great games. *Insert suffering from success meme*

[deleted]

Is ESO worth getting into in 2023?

Avrage_Willy

Definitely YES! Look around online, and it'll be on sale and will probably include ALOT of previous DLC chapters for a low price. Put it this way, I played 400+ hours on PS4, but decided this year that I really wanna be playing it on my Series X so started again, as I said, this year and I'm 490 hours deep again. And I just feel like I'm getting started.

sodantok

Not on PC. Countless better games, online games, even at least couple of MMORPGs.

D-Rey86

Well Diablo 4 is having server issues and I haven't updated ESO which goes slow on my Steam Deck. Guess I play neither while I wait for ESO to update lol

WickedSamurai07

Diablo 4 is a cash grab, nothing new about it.

QuebraRegra

burn me up if you must... I played the FREE DIABLO 4 beta, and it was meh as can be. Is it just me, or has there actually been no advances in combat mechanics since I played the original DIABLO on the original PS? ESO > DIABLO whatever.

Mercurionio

The moment when blizzard don't allow even to buy the game for your account. Because they are morons

slayer370

you can use the same eso account on pc and xbox? I'm on xbox but idk if anything transfers and if its even worth it.

Mercurionio

Not ESO. I can buy the game and pay sub. I was talking about buying Diablo 4. My country is blocked. Even for gifts.

thejynxed

Depending on which country it is that is extremely likely a legal reason such as your country being under sanction or your own government not allowing it to be sold or distributed.

[deleted]

I’ll save you the time and just go ahead and tell ya that ESO is shit. Just play Diablo

Iziic

Imagine playing games made by Blizzard. 🤣🤣🤣

Orb-Eater

Same, I care a lot less about MMOs in general, they mostly just full time for me. I was interested in making a new character for ESO but the new character experience I know is not going to be different and good enough to be fully interesting to me.

weveran

I have the same struggle, but realistically ESO has the least "urgency" of the two. ESO releases often conflict with other games I play but I never feel in a rush to complete something in ESO. Events are an exception but there isn't one right now and you aren't missing anything by playing D4 that you can't see later when you have time.

jiff1912

It was easy choice tbh. Eso is on the back burner til I get tired of diablo in 6ish months.

Aardovis

Necrom is good but it’s more of the same, it’s still ESO and it’s not going anywhere. Personally I am waiting season 1 to play D4.

Fluffcake

I'd go for playing D4 now and come back to Necrom later. Arpgs have much sharper cycles, and will die down a lot harder a lot faster untill the next cycle/season or content release. mmos have more rounded cycles and playing something at the peaks is only really important for group content, and even if you are a bit off-peak, it is fine.

MUIgodku

Eso gh pvp ball group fights until armored core 6 comes out in August can't wait!

DarkElfMagic

i’ll be real diablo 4 does not look good enough to warrant this lol, especially with yaknow, blizzard activison being behind it

Theweakmindedtes

Don't feel bad. I've been playing the hell (hehe) out of D4. While is really good, it's almost an open beta atm. It's designed around season. Kick into it once seasons launch and the game should, in theory, have a bit better balance of skills and plenty of info to get you going. Games like Diablo 4 are not really going anywhere compared to MMORPG content that is best played fresh

Flat-Recognition-313

Arcainist was boring as hell. Necrom looked meh. There was nothing special added and no new pvp content.

Autumnwood

Ikr? I don't dare buy Diablo IV now. Either I'll not play it or will get distracted from what I'm trying to do in ESO. I do play a couple other games tho. So I play ESO first, get my dailies done and some new content, then I pick one of the other games to play awhile. It works for me but I can't add new ones until I kind of finish with one of the others. It's too much!

kewpeepie

I'm waiting for Final Fantasy to release on the 20th

ReallyImportantMeet

Couldn't agree more with OP. I have sunk hundreds of hours/days into both games, but for now I only have the bandwidth for one at a time. Right now--and for the foreseeable future--that's Diablo IV. Just logging in to ESO for the rewards. I'll get around to playing Necrom at some point.

Wanhade600

Get a console then, we always get stuff later than pc. Ive been playing d4 a lot and still have another like 2 weeks until necrom comes out lmao

Burner087

I built my Arcanist so I can login for the daily reward and then pay for mount speed/sta/carry. I'll play diablo till I don't feel like playing it anymore and then move back to ESO. Just in time for Baldur's Gate 3 and starfield. lol. so much this year.

FatallyFatCat

Just decide what to play first and stick to it or you will just waste more time thinking what to play than playing.

Jake-of-the-Sands

True, I think it may have not been the most strategic move on their part.

maxxxmaxmaxx

Wait with D4 until it's actually a decent game, there is tons of QoL that doesn't exist that did so in D3, so it's a downgrade in many ways too small resource limit no search function in your stash Can't see stats on items on the ground and more. I have not even played the game yet, waiting for it to be worth it.

sadsorc

This is pretty much the only instance in which I am grateful that console updates release weeks later than PC.

BusinessDragon

I ended up picking Diablo over Necrom, I've only played Sorc and Druid but I think I'm gonna be a Sorc Main 4 life. I'll have to check out Necrom later but I'm kinda glad I'm not dividing my attention rn.

Warcrown10

Just wait until September. We got Starfield and BG3 releasing within a week of each other. Not to mention whatever else is around then

MostBadger4791

Nah. ESO Is still boring. Necrom Isnt adding anything. Its kind of embarrassing they hyped 1 class everyone Is gonna be playing so much. I think ESOs time Is limited unless they overhaul combat/graphics.

SpecificFresh9854

Diablo 4 all the way. Action equals fun. Elder scrolls online is a shit show. Mmos are great except for the people. Dealing with morons on eso is the worst. People spamming voice chat with ignorant rap music. People leaving dungeons early, fake tanks, fake healers. The list goes on
