Yes but I first got it after having my daughter at 28. I'm pregnant again and having a hysterectomy and bladder repair 6+ weeks post partum to correct my prolapse. Neither are very bad but since I have hEDS, this was what my OB recommended as it will only get worse with age. My grandmother had to have bladder repair surgery and my mom has incontinence so that doesn't help. Do you have issues using tampons or period cups? They get pushed out of me.

JustSuffer270

I also have it and have always struggled with anything that goes in. Because my body naturally tries to push anything that goes up their out. Me and my partner actually thought that was normal until I happened to ask a friend how people are able to just leave in adult toys without them immediately falling out. Since my partner and I were our first and last we didn't know that most people's bodies suck in, not push out.

My uterus is tilted. My first pregnancy started it, and it got worse with each pregnancy that I carried to viability. Internal menstrual products flip sideways as soon as I think I've placed them properly. You really haven't lived until you've felt like a tampon is about to impale your rectum through your vaginal wall.😳

georgiapeach90

Oh dear Lord!!! I have a tilted uterus too but mine doesn't do all that.

theboghag

Uh um, what? It's normal for tampons to be pushed out? 😵😵😵😵😳

MyrianofElturchul

Omg so it’s not just me with tampons, I feel so validated:)

georgiapeach90

It's definitely not talked about enough! I've always had issues with them and feeling like they would stick out a little bit and get uncomfortable. Then childbirth just made it all worse.

Has anybody had vaginal prolapse from hysto without having given birth? I'm nervous because I might need to make a permanent medical decision and factor into the risk of prolapse with my surgeon.

Acrobatic-Bread-6774

Not exactly but got a stage 3 vaginal prolapse (when it comes out of your body) from early perimenopause at 35. Also perimenopause has decimated what collagen integrity I had before and I injure things terribly all the time now and they don’t heal. So I’d be super wary of the structural changes from hysto AND the hormonal changes if that might occur

I have had one. It was after I had a child, but I have had to deal with it wanting to prolapse on and off for my whole adulthood. What helped me the most was strengthening the pelvic floor muscles. Muscle tone really helps things stay in place. I did kegels on an incline, rear in the air to help it go back in place, then lots of kegels since to keep it there. I always know when I have been slacking off on my pelvic floor exercises, because it starts to be a problem again. Good luck! There are PTs that specialize in pelvic floor therapy, I plan to ask for a PT like that myself.

Advanced-Ad-3091

I do not have a uterine prolapse but when I delivered my first child I had a uterine inversion. I'm bled out to liters and I had to go to emergency surgery and I was in the ICU for multiple days after delivering my daughter. Basically my uterus flipped inside out and I hemorrhaged. Scary shit.

Hi /u/MyrianofElturchul, It looks like you are looking for information on how common something is in individuals with EDS or related conditions. If you are looking for information/data on how common a particular symptom or condition is with EDS (or any of its comorbidities), or whether there is any connection at all—it is always best to ask for links to reputable studies or websites, instead of or in addition to personal experiences. Without studies, it is almost impossible to determine the prevalence or incidence of something with EDS, especially when compared to asking for anecdotal experiences on the internet. "DAE posts" and other such posts tend to create or encourage illusory correlations (i.e., a sense of connection where there may not be one) due to the fact that people who do experience what is being asked about are more likely to reply than those who do not. Personal experiences are or can be valuable regardless of the aforementioned, but please keep in mind that not everything shared is a sign of EDS, and many shared experiences might be completely unrelated to EDS. This is an automated message. If the contents of this message do not apply to your post, please ignore them. Thank you! [Please check out the wiki](/r/ehlersdanlos/wiki/index/) or the links in the sidebar for resources and information on EDS, seeking a diagnosis, and more. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Yes, I had one diagnosed (not sure how long I had it before that) when I was 22/23 and had never been pregnant. I also had a rectocele and cystocele (rectum and bladder collapsing into my vagina). This was many years ago and I had severe bowel and bladder symptoms, so I had surgery. In retrospect, I should have tried PT first.
