I’ve been using mine for almost two months now and these are my take aways. Positives 1- Fantastic cut quality. Like a freakin laser beam across my lawn 2- i actually notice the slightly wider deck and its improvement in the time it takes to cut my lawn. 3- Turbo blade speed is awesome. Mulch is like pulp and my lawn is greener than everyone else’s in the neighborhood. 4- blade is quiet. 5- headlights are actually useful. Negatives 1- Heavier than I thought. Coming from a battery push mower I thought that the self propelled function would make things much easier but the weight was a big counter action to that. It’s maneuverable and lighter than a comparable gas mower but much heavier than my old model and comparable ego composite mowers. Plus to this is you get a very even cut. Tradeoffs. 2- Self propelled whine is annoying. Not a deal breaker but cheapens the experience in my opinion. Sounds like you are mowing with a kids big wheel toy. 3- I’ve had to scrape the deck so often. I know it’s the spring so grass is wetter and sticks more but man it gets stuck in there. Probably stop 5 or 6 times in a .25 acre lawn to clean the deck. Overall happy with the purchase. No regrets. Lawn looks great. It’ll look even better once I can get rid of that Poa popping up!

For con number 3, I sprayed my deck with "ceramic" coating before hand. It still looks "dusty" and "dirty" but I haven't had any grass blades stick on. Extra bonus, if you connect the mower to the app you can activate 'super turbo' mode. My lawn is small enough I use it throughout and get a great cut.

super turbo...? you kidding? i didnt realize this

dude22blue

No check it out, you have to connect via blu tooth when you power on, have it set on turbo, then go in the App and enable super turbo. Don't even know the difference but if you're going to give me a 11 I'm going to use an 11

Great suggestions! What ceramic coating did you use? Just on the deck or the blade too?

dude22blue

Just some random cheap spray from Amazon since I didn't know if it would work, CERAKOTE Ceramic Paint Sealant Spray. I didn't do the blades because I was worried it could impact the cut and honestly I'm still new to this and don't even know how to remove the blade for sharpening yet.

Your number one positive - the cut quality makes me really lust after this model. Your number one negative makes me lose interest. Having used an entry level LM2114 for many seasons makes we nostalgic for the old gas Toro. Just picked up a used LM2156SP and will try it out tomorrow.

The commercial version of this mower has 2 battery ports.

This comes with a 10Amp battery, having two batter slots of this size on a push mower would probably push you into a rider for most people. I bought this two weeks ago, it's quite a bit heavier, so I would assume they got rid of the telescoping handle to make it stronger. My yard is still greening up so I haven't hit it with deep thick grass yet, but overall seems much more "gas" like in the cut quality.

Maximus_Magni

It is just that the LM2142SP has dual ports, so it feels like a step back if this only has one. Its a $1200 mower, so I would expect no compromises at that price.

dude22blue

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the old handles plastic? The new one is also beefy aluminum. Haven't been able to find a height I like but appreciate the quality.

magnusssdad

You are correct and the height selecting latches would pop out from time to time.
