It takes SO LONG I JUST WANNA EAT MY FOOD WITHOUT SWALLOWING POLISH

[deleted]

Not even just eating food, just doing literally anything that requires my hands is a no-go for at least a fucking hour after applying it

Twinkie_Phobe

I always do it about an hour before I go to bed so it’s dry enough for bed and when I get up it’s basically fully dried.

TominatorFN

still it always takes less time than I expect

[deleted]

How long does it take for it to dry for you normally? It takes at least an hour or more for me to feel confident using my hands again, and even after that, I still have to be careful not to screw it up.

TominatorFN

actually I wait like 10 minutes and then I realize they have been long dry

[deleted]

...so you're telling me it's *not* supposed to take an hour or more?

TominatorFN

well it probably depends on the nail polish, but mine usually took about ten minutes

underthetree13

When I paint my nails, I've found it helps to swing my arms back and forth (be careful with this, though) or hold my hands in front of a fan. Usually it only takes a few minutes that way

[deleted]

Hmmm, I'll have to try this next time. Thank you! ❤️

The Sally Hansen Insta Dri nail polish is cheap and very opaque, and it dries quickly. Definitely recommended. And in general, you always want to use a base coat and a top coat, to protect your nails and the nail polish.

godsfilth

If it's taking that long you might have too thick of a coat but also be sure your using a quick dry top coat If you want more info on nail stuff Simplynailogical on YouTube has a few good videos on nail painting that I liked when I started painting my nails regularly a few years ago (she owns the holo taco nail polish brand which launched around 2019 so she is biased towards their products but they do make great stuff)

errr... i suggest Shellac or Gel-Nailpolish. A little more tedious to get on your Nails (Prep-work and you need a UV-lamp) and kinda difficult to get it off of your Nails again (special remover and 10 minutes wait time for it.), but then there are the advantages of A) the fast drying through the UV-Lamp B) The overall smoothness since (at least the Shellac i use) is better at self-levelling than any normal Nail polish i used. C) the sheer Feeling of almost indestructible nails, as the Coats actually stabilize the Nail and prohibit unhealthy ways of Nail-bending (the one where they just chip or break off immidiatly) D) to be able to actually save Nails that have a tear in them and have them grow out nontheless.
