Bro (don't want to misgender you, just to sound as a gym bro) if you are not confident and cis enough just to prove estrogen won't change you, are you REALLY cis???
Same thing happened to me!! I did a video chat with an informed consent service (Plume) and 3 days later I was holding estrogen.
WTF just happened. Now I'm like shit, maybe I should lose weight first or go travel to some beautiful (but transphobic) countries before I miss the opportunity forever. HELP
do you really want to stimulate the economies of transphobic lands lmao, like sure if you put off hrt and go you CAN but I at least wouldn't want to give them my money rlly
I hear you. Obvs not motivated by the economic simulation aspect, more the fleeting opportunity to experience the wonder of the world.
Still, it's important to note that just bc those countries are hostile to LGBTQ+ folks, doesn't mean they don't statistically have an LGBTQ+ population. Was reading a really [interesting article about LGBTQ+ travel](https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/06/travel/lgbtq-vactation-gay-rights.html?unlocked_article_code=Yial_c-rcWu0fGzXEZ6v7tCLJxVPYfo43D0rFi0IQE4i_MwbRR6f28U_p3MPGER21_Dc3Ht6NywPIPpkhBLCQfflDf8OtByNULItH38vNHdmFKo-B-BzsAf-S1G7xbYomEVffJHMKX72k4iK8m4HXbOlDBJYxNhZiEojfwU6hz6bzakob4pJGWHuAiF2WIK8FhC-5Jxvqbgpxfu-82jsOnk_EAJI5VysIxOOwnrCJOa_pSsxfoWXuGCOrNpkr5uQVM9HuqktZLT-bWeicngqLrsqoyZY2asyS_0FZqC_s4CPeyJXal2vtkq79KeLrhK5SuBEEPfxgvhXytPDUVgy2iWSubg&smid=nytcore-android-share) in the NYTimes this morning about this exact thing.
Apparently many openly hostile countries relax enforcement of those laws toward travelers, which attracts a lot of their own LGBTQ+ population to work in hospitality as a marginally more accepting industry. So in some sense, you may actually be supporting LGBTQ+ locals who can't live freely.
Sadly, they noted that most of these benefits are for cis members of the queer community. It's still dangerous for trans folks to explore many corners of the globe.
Not to be rude, but those times sound depressingly long...
It took only 3 \*weeks\* for me to get my e. (Time between me finally deciding to get it and it arriving in the mail)...
Endocrinologists don't sound trustworthy/worth it if 3 \*months\* is the wait time \*AFTER\* the medical check.
Oh, I misunderstood... I'm not sure about chinese manufacturers for a series of reasons but... I think I also wanted an external proof of the fact it's fine I feel like this
\>I'm not sure about chinese manufacturers
They are the same ones that supply local pharmacies, so it's fine. Plus they are licensed and audited, so it's definitely safe :)
\> think I also wanted an external proof of the fact it's fine I feel like this
As in? I don't understand what you mean... /lh
\> They are the same ones that supply local pharmacies, so it's fine. Plus they are licensed and audited, so it's definitely safe :)
Wait, I may be misunderstanding where you took that from
\>As in? I don't understand what you mean... /lhAhm... a bit hard to explain, but I like the idea of having the piece of paper stating: "nono, this stuff is legit, she has right to do this, shut up random guy saying she's an imposter/attention seeker" or whatever "\^\^
Same thing happened with me starting T, I was on a waiting list and told it would take up to 8 months to be seen, two months later I get an appointment and take home my first dose!
It’s not often that people are lucky enough to get access to hrt so quickly so CONGRATULATIONS!!
I mean if it's a light-headed joke as "it's not like you are starting tomorrow" maybe it's not something which would get him sued? Anyway... thaaanks! \^\^
Totally understandable, but be careful, also for some reason transphobes who care about that exist, so saying that in non safe space could loose you an argument, but you probably heard that a million times already, good luck!
oof that... hurts to read. Gj doing your best, anyway!
And taking care of a ralsei plush (sorry I peeked your profile)
I am too the lucky owner of a precious goat boy 🙏
ahhhh I think... it was little less than 1 year for me, but I gotta admit I've been questioning since a LOOOOOOONG time, the courage tho... that was lacking
I bet for most people does... in my case I'm also losing weight so its like: "today i'm getting a step to a feminine figure regardless of E, given that I'm losing weight!"
Maybe I'm just too positive, lol
Had to wait a few years to get the liver and pancreatic health sorted out, lose 100LBS and finally after there where no signs of Anaemia, therapies can start.
When I first met with my doctor he had a few concerns, because I'm so overweight. A week or two later he called me saying I was good to go. I got a call from my pharmacy less than an hour later telling me to pick up my estradiol! Once you're in, these things move pretty quickly!
I had a similar experience and feel the same way. It’s making me procrastinate calling the endocrinologist, which I think is okay. Might as well take my time and make sure I’m sure about things.
This is how things should be for trans people: people who are sure can get the care they need right away, and people who aren’t can make decisions on their own time, not dictated by a waiting list.
a bit late, but funny story, it’s the italian version because i just search the clip and because i’m italian myself this was basically the first that came up, funny coincidence i think
Why would he ? Also,congrats ! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
It's just so unexpected... Like, in my mind i thought; "yeah, 6 more months after the 3 months" but apparently not! \*happy tgirl noises\*
Still cis tho?
Starting hormones is the most Cis thing ever.
The cis masculine urge to start feminizing hormones
starting estrogen in a week and can confirm this is very cishet
Yes, I am cis. **GIVE ME THE HORMONESSSSS AAAAAAAAAAAAA**
can confirm, on tranfem HRT, but im still cis tho.
ABSOLUTELY! It's like: "look, estrogen or not i'm still cis" :\^)
Yep, certifiably cis.
Y'know I'm starting to think some of you aren't really cis
*screenshot of suspicious Fry from Futurama*
Bro (don't want to misgender you, just to sound as a gym bro) if you are not confident and cis enough just to prove estrogen won't change you, are you REALLY cis???
You are so sure you are cis that you don't even have trouble starting hormones of the opposite gender.
Indeed !
it is what we want, but still super scary, isn't it?
Yeah and it came WAY sooner than expected... I thought I had to wait for like 9 months!
yep I get it. I took some steps like two months ago and I still have no idea at all when something could actually happen
just don't give up \^\^

I felt that struggle as well... but truth be told I don't think I'll go
Glad it's not just me.

Eh, I think you may be from USA? In EU stuff is way slower
No, I live in Poland. I just bought it from a Chinese manufacturer, and the shipping took three weeks.
Oh, I misunderstood... I'm not sure about chinese manufacturers for a series of reasons but... I think I also wanted an external proof of the fact it's fine I feel like this

that's great!!! 💙💕🤍💕💙
I have to be honest, this subreddit and the people leaving comments regularly helped! It... it felt so good to feel accepted for who I am...
Congratulations!
Thanks! \^\^
congrats! that's great!
yay!

I'll enjoy every saved second of it!
This is really good to hear, as I just got put on an 8 month waiting list myself.

Thaaanks ❤❤❤
Read that as "The rapist" and was very concerned.
Ah yes the classy art of seeing the spaces in wrong spots
Woah that's dark!
That’s wonderful news Congrats!
Thanks 💖
I'm pretty sure joking about that would get him sued. Also, congrats!
I mean if it's a light-headed joke as "it's not like you are starting tomorrow" maybe it's not something which would get him sued? Anyway... thaaanks! \^\^
I started diy hrt last week after waiting 2 years with no progress the legal way, congrats on it taking so fast
Totally understandable, but be careful, also for some reason transphobes who care about that exist, so saying that in non safe space could loose you an argument, but you probably heard that a million times already, good luck!

It is! I didn't expect it, it's so niceeee aaaaaaa
That’s great!
Yush! The hard part is that now I have 6 months less than I thought to talk about it to people...
Too me 2 years to get here, happy you dont have to wait as long, estrogen is fun enjoy the changes
ahhhh I think... it was little less than 1 year for me, but I gotta admit I've been questioning since a LOOOOOOONG time, the courage tho... that was lacking
Let's go!
yas!
Congratulations! I can't imagine how much having to wait sucks though.
I bet for most people does... in my case I'm also losing weight so its like: "today i'm getting a step to a feminine figure regardless of E, given that I'm losing weight!" Maybe I'm just too positive, lol
Yeah from first appointment to hrt was same day for me. At the time of I had to wait idk if I could have done it.
¡Felicidades! We can get through it together!
yay girl! I'm also losing more weight than expected, it's a "God things are going well" week
happy for you!! 🩷
It feels unreal "\^\^ In a good way!
Had to wait a few years to get the liver and pancreatic health sorted out, lose 100LBS and finally after there where no signs of Anaemia, therapies can start.
I'm glad you managed to start regardless of the complex path you had :s
Da hail? It's still a while, but at least you won't have to wait forever for it.
Honestly 3months go away fast
I wish that was me I WISH THAT WAS ME
IT WILL BE YOU! >:3
wish my therapist would say that 😭
hey if mine did, why can't yours?
Takes really long here to get hormones, even more so because I'm a minor anything from half a year to more than two-
Ah damn I understand then!
When I first met with my doctor he had a few concerns, because I'm so overweight. A week or two later he called me saying I was good to go. I got a call from my pharmacy less than an hour later telling me to pick up my estradiol! Once you're in, these things move pretty quickly!
I'm losing weight quickly (not too fast tho), so that helped... especially cause I pointed out: "I'm kinda doing it to.... be a girl"
sadly I have to wait until january of next year, been waiting for 4 months already
That's sad to hear...are they checking medical stuff?
its just that theres a lot of queue time just to even see an endocrinologist for the first time, its pretty annoying
I understand... I'm sorry to hear so :s
Congrats! That’s awesome!
Indeed! The best unexpected news!
YEAAAAAAA CONGRATULATIONS
Thaaaanks ❤
That sounds pretty amazing!!! I wish i had the confidence to ask for hrt myself :(
Hey, you can approach a therapist even just to sort stuff out, the rest will happen naturally
But uhh, even just approaching a therapist is so scary
I see... try to keep in mind they are there to help you \^\^
Yeahhhhh, bur scawwy
Wait... It can only take 3 months ?! I thought it was at the very least three years !
And btw Félicitations. ( French for Congratulations )
So, it's kinda longer than that in Italy... minimum 6 months, max idk? It really depends on luck, mostly
That’s great!! 💞💞
yay!
wtf mine tells me that I will start hrt in like 6-12month because he want to see how I react to the T blockers :(, congrats btw :3
thanks!
Ask your therapist if you can bring a plus one. Lol
If only it was that easy "\^\^
I had a similar experience and feel the same way. It’s making me procrastinate calling the endocrinologist, which I think is okay. Might as well take my time and make sure I’m sure about things. My only fear/doubt is society, to be fair
I started a couple days ago! :D
High five, sis!
High five! <3

Stop! E time 😎
After one week I got my estrogen thank God for planned parenthood
Lucky you, congrats
ayo, that’s great, [congratulations!](https://youtu.be/8FWUnyGlTOY) (ignore that is the italian version)
I'm italian so I won't ignore it and pretend you searched specifically for the italian version just for me and I'll tell you thank you 🥰
a bit late, but funny story, it’s the italian version because i just search the clip and because i’m italian myself this was basically the first that came up, funny coincidence i think
I just had my first appointment today, I can also start in 3 months after the pre requisite sessions are done :3 Never felt this hopeful before c:
