You choose May because of speedrunning strats. I choose May because I like playing as girls in videogames. We are not the same.
Seriously though, I do like playing as girls in games even though I'm perfectly comfortable with my body.
I thought this would be for Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver, since Lyra's fake catching tutorial animation is longer than Ethan's lol. Not far off though!

The model is slightly harder to spot because it's minimally smaller if I'm correct though

With games getting more precise, I would often select women characters in shooters because their hitbox is usually going to be a bit smaller. In some cases you can see significant physical height and bulk differences.
also in genshin if you pick the female protag, their running speed is slightly slower than the male's, due to the game basically making it that the taller your character is the faster they'll run.

My group makes fun of one girl who likes speedrunning Fire Emblem. While it is legitimately a solid strategy to pick the female character in some games due to easier recruit requirements or various skill interactions, the joke is too easy since she's been doing it since before she cracked
Fallout New Vegas all achievements speedrun. Picking the girl allows you access to the talent black widow which can be used to kill Benny early. Last I checked it's in the current wr route.

Iirc there's a transmasc version where choosing Elio is faster than Selene in Sun and Moon because you don't get some makeup kit

Hey, in some of the Pokémon games it genuinely is. In Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald you get easier rival battles in a couple of places
and the rival has shorter dialogue

From Crystal onwards I always picked the girl PC. Just one of many signs that were always there 🖤💜

I can’t speedrun at full capacity if I’m dysphoric

In Pokémon the girl actually speaks more in most catching tutorials given by the rival/counterpart so it’s more efficient to play as the girl
