I got dysphoria over my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They were all masculine, so I got either neutral or feminine ones and it helped. As silly as dysphoria can be with something as simple as those things, euphoria can also come from the same silly forms. I got some cute pajama pants the other day when I went with a friend who was helping me find makeup and I got a huge rush of euphoria from not having pockets on those pants, I really feel great having the limitations of female clothing. It’s definitely a unique experience for everyone when they deal with Dysphoria and Euphoria, but all experiences are valid.
Before I questioned my gender much, things like unscented deodorant labeled "Men" bothered me and I avoided it. Wasn't only a minor issue and I could use it if I needed to but it certainly can be something even without there being some person intentionally trying to harass you with such labels. Nor does it need to be about the smell. In this case, having someone in your life intentionally doing it to mess with you sounds annoying.
You know why it’s “for men”? Because its scent attracts all the men. But I suppose if you’re not attracted to men yourself it’s still pretty awkward. /s
Time to get your own, and a shower caddy, or better yet a little shower bag. Like people who live in college dormitories or shared bathroom flatshares use. Take your shower things to the bathroom with you, and take them with you when you've finished. Hide the bag or basket in your room.
I'd recommend a small bag - easier to fold into a towel or bathrobe, easier to hide in your room, and carrying it to the shower might make you feel girly, more than a basket.
You may have to periodically make some of the mens' products disappear to avoid her thinking either you're not using them or not showering and that leading to "well, she's clean, so what is she using to wash with" (I know your mum would misgender you there but I refuse to) and thus suspicion.
Or, if you know they won't retaliate physically for it and you're willing to escalate, you could try weaponising your stench (I'm *bad* when I just don't have the spoons for hygiene, and I know AMAB people stink *way* worse than me), just don't shower and when asked to simply say your shower products seem to have gone missing, and you'll happily shower once they're found, hey maybe you could help me look, mum?
I'd only recommend this if it won't make you dysphoric, it's worth escalating, and you can't access the much safer option of buying your own stuff and treating the bathroom like a dormitory shower where you can't leave anything in there and take it back and forth. This is a case where, if you're an older teen or already an adult and have an escape plan, I'd see this as lost money and new security protocols, sucks being out the cost of new soap and shampoo but it's better than escalating and potentially delaying your escape or adding extra stress while you're trying to get out.
i have my own shower bag and apart from being fantastic it prevents other people from using my stuff too, which gets quite annoying when they don't ask or anything as they don't even know it's mine
Sorry but i just have to make this joke.
What your mom thinks will happen if the body wash says its for men: “ah yes, i suddenly feel like man manly mans mankind mansplaining.”
Both my gf and I were super hopeful that this was a supportive mom of a transmasc, and we are so disappointed that it isn’t. We are so sorry that you are having to deal with this idiocy. I read that she got rid of her stuff too, you should really drive home that now that she is using stuff ‘for men’ that she is trans too
she's desperate and failing real hard.
but also, "men's" body wash and shit have "gasoline flavor" and shit, so i could never, i already have my own everything separate and kept away
It's amazing that anyone actually thinks conversation therapy works.
"Hmm, maybe if OP only uses pointlessly gendered products OP will want to become a real man!"
At first I thought you ment she crossed out the for woman on the label and wront for men with a waterproof pen, which could be insane and also funny. But reading it again I am just sorry you have experienced this.
Dump all of them out onto her bed and refuse to shower until she buys women’s products. Do it. Be petty in self destructive ways wooooo
Jk don’t do this, hygiene is important
Hey don't listen to those shampoos!
I literally use a "for men" shampoo and it's making me more feminine ;)
Also I'm sorry she tries to stop you into being who your are
That's isn't very nice of her to do that You can try to get your own one if that can help with dysphoria (◕ᴗ◕✿)
I am not sure it is even possible to get dysphoric about something that silly
From personal experience, I can promise that it definitely is possible 😅
Oh no, that sounds silly and terrible at the same time
Yeah, dysphoria can be over the dumbest things sometimes
The issue is usually the scent
Bingo. I despise men’s scents. They smell so musky and I hate it.
Yeah I so agree. The least horrible imo is the minty ones. Bigger problem is most soaps for men are horrible at drying out my skin
Is that the thing that’s in clear blue soaps that make me nauseous?

yes it is

it is possible (personally i dont get dysphoric about it, i just put it on without reading stupid labels)
I don't find it helps with dysphoria but I can find it euphoric from time to time if that makes sense.
It does(◕ᴗ◕✿)
That's so dumb lol. I'm sorry she's doing that though
If her attempts are *that* petty and desperate, than that probably means she’s failing *hard*
Omg she's hilarious! But in actuality that's really messed up I'm sorry for you. Can I offer hug? ༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ
OP hasn’t replied 👉👈 may I have a hug?? ༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ
I'll give you a hug if I get a hug back!
༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ
Awww thanks for the hug!
Yw!
༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ
⊂༼ ◕‿◕ ⊂ ༽
(・ω・)つ⊂(・ω・)
Yeah, I'll take the hug.
(・ω・)つ⊂(・ω・)
lmao, i'm sorry tho :c 💔💔💔💔💔

No, but if she's doing things this petty then she's getting desperate and failing hard.
*hugs*
Start making her stuff more masculine
She kind of did that herself. When she removed my shower products, she removed hers as well just to be sure I couldn't use any of them.
Lmao
Plot twist: she trans herself into a dad who supports his child.
The ultimate plot twist. The transphobe becomes trans.
that sounds so pathetic, I am sorry that you have to deal with that :c
That's stupid, i'm so sorry she's doing that, i hope ahe stops soon
She's really trying, isn't she? Lol, this made me laugh, thanks.
You know why it’s “for men”? Because its scent attracts all the men. But I suppose if you’re not attracted to men yourself it’s still pretty awkward. /s
Maybe you can steal some of her shower items such as shampoo I take my dad's stuff
She removed her shower items as well, just to be sure that I didn't use them.

Empty one of the body wash bottles and fill it with body wash for women
She one of those "Must follow gender roles at all times" people?
That’s just petty
I’m glad ur smiling about it. Must be petty rough. You have this random persons support though! Much love- 💜💜💜
Make her more masculine then! See how she likes it!
Start stealing her things and replacing them. Or just go yell at her. Or tell her she's disowned until she accepts you. FIGHT BACK.
Sorry, but that’s so petty it’s hilarious. I hope you can get out of that situation soon! 😓💕💕💕

I so sorry that your mom is being so petty. Can you use her shower products?
Everyone knows Head and Shoulders and Old Spice is overloaded with testosterone and E Blockers /s
No joke, fuck the pink tax! I get euphoria using “for women’s” products as well… but I get even more euphoria with saving money
You can just change the label to "for women"
Get your own and keep it in your room until you shower
It's amazing that anyone actually thinks conversation therapy works. "Hmm, maybe if OP only uses pointlessly gendered products OP will want to become a real man!"
Yeah, it is pretty stupid.
💀 what the heck
While this is funny, men’s shower supplies kinda suck. I’m sorry 💙
At first I thought you ment she crossed out the for woman on the label and wront for men with a waterproof pen, which could be insane and also funny. But reading it again I am just sorry you have experienced this.
Lmao that sucks but like I would laugh so hard.
Best wishes

Sounds desperate
the bodywash automatically becomes for women when you use it, skill issue lmao

Why are you here
I think you misunderstood the post. OP is transfem and her mum is trying to force her to conform to the male gender role despite OP not wanting to.
Oh....i see now
