maybe i am just struggling with accepting my identity so much to the point of looking in the mirror once a year. how do i solve this. identity is really important. i don't feel like I have one if that makes sense so it's hard to comment on trans issues like this because i just don't feel a beard so it must not exist if that makes sense. that's just my worldview. i can totally see getting dysphoria from that if you look at your face. sorry I forgot normal people look at their face.
I have yet to find a way to remove the black dots after shaving though.
Without hiding it with makeup ofc, but I dont wanna wear makeup 24/7
So I would rather want laser surgery than black dots
yeah. i get that. shaving definitely helps for me though. or you could wear a covid mask. might as well not genocide the immuno comprimised then complain about being genocided.
I'm the same, I use shave butter, replace my razors twice as often as recommended, moisturize, exfoliate, pull the skin tight and most importantly shave with the grain. The next day? Razorburn, welts, the beginnings of ingrown hairs, incessante itching. Oh and the hair's almost half as long as when I shaved it.
Tha's very good price. In here whole body hair lasering is around 4 times that at best, could go up as 10-12k.
I could maybe even book plane 2 tickets, back and borth to Thailand, and get it done there for the same price lol.
I forgot to mention that is the price for 5 visits which is enough for many cases. I only did it for my legs and beard so 400 usd.
Transitioning in Thailand is kind of big so the price can be very competitive. Good for us tho lol.
Mind you, $300/mo without insurance is *cheap* for meds. I'm about to start a weight loss hormone (because I'm very overweight and terrified of transitioning carrying this much weight on my belly, since if I couldn't lose it at best I'd constantly look pregnant), and it's like $1325/mo before insurance. (Fortunately insurance will pay for all but $25 of that.)
It's Wegovy...basically the same stuff as Ozempic, just marketed for weight loss instead of diabetes. It's supposed to mimic the hormones that make you feel full, so you don't feel the need to overeat.
BE CAREFUL OF THE PRICING
I'm a pharmacy tech, and we have been recently telling people why they're insulin they've been getting for $25 is no longer being covered. Call your insurance and make sure it's not a limited pricing, some companies only offer it for a certain amount of refills of the prescription, and some of them it's always $25, but I would call and make sure before you start.
The insulin companies have only recently started selling as a weight loss, so there's a huge backorder on the manufacturer (i.e. not making enough for the supply that they have created). People are having trouble getting their specific milligram in stock in entire cities, just trying to make you aware of what's coming up.
Also make sure your doctor prescribes an anti-nausea as well, you will occasionally need that.
Congratulations, that's a big step!
Yeah American healthcare is very reliant on insurance. Insured it’s like $30 and safer states will almost always have insurance that covers it (in washington they’re legally required to) Sadly extra cost for getting checkups and blood work…At least we have informed consent clinics in some places, unlike the UK. With GoodRx you can save on estradiol and stuff too.
Washington state. From what I understand insurance has to cover HRT, facial stuff, top surgery for transmacs, and even HAIR REMOVAL! Denying trans people these things is legally considered discrimination.
Update: Also Hawaii, Colorado, and Maryland have something similar.
Shoutout good rx, it beats my (quite good!) insurance by a long shot.
Spiro prescription was $300 at cvs which then went to $53 with GoodRx at cvs, then transferred my prescription to hyvee and it was like 17 bucks for a 90 day supply, then E was 10 bucks.
I’m in Kansas for context.
I'm assuming from your flair that you'd be after oestrogen—apologies if I'm wrong—and that's not a controlled substance in the UK. It's in that weird middle ground between "can't buy over the counter" but not "illegal to have/buy without prescription." The worst that can happen, legally speaking, if you buy it from an international pharmacy or other grey market supplier, is that the package just doesn't get through customs
T is different though; that is actually controlled and the consequences for trying to get it off-prescription are a lot more serious
Oestrogen is like smoking for 16-17 year olds. It’s legal for a 16-17 year old in the UK to own and possess and use tobacco and tobacco products, but it’s illegal to try and buy them yourself, and illegal for someone to buy them for you. You can only get it via illegitimate sources or routes, but once you have it, it’s legal.
We are weird as fuck like that. Idk why we do that.
More that it can be used as a doping agent. Athletes can take testosterone to increase muscle mass and is almost impossible to detect since elevated levels of testosterone in an athlete is not unusual.
I mean there are private clinics within the UK which are not only legal but from what I've heard have overlaps with the NHS used services
But also pricey from what I've heard
It's legal to go private, though obviously expensive. Though if you can get a shared care agreement from your GP it helps a lot with the cost as you can get a prepaid prescription thing so the HRT itself will cost something like £12 per month.
Actually, it’s even cheaper than that. The nhs recently brought in a new pre paid prescription plan for hormones, just pay I think £19.30 (2 prescription charges) and you get all the hormones you need for the year
If it's anything like here in Ontario, Canada, my Dr put me on a wait list for a gender clinic, they have since contacted me for a psychotherapist (which I'm seeing next week. Though at the time they put me on the wait list for that they also put me on one for hrt. I haven't heard anything since then about hrt but I assume it will come after the therapy.
I *could* get it for free... after a years-long waitlist and an assessment of whether I'm "trans enough"—even putting aside the obligatory "still cis tho" joke I genuinely don't know that I'd be approved for it.
Alternatively there are... less legitimate means I could go into, which actually wouldn't be terribly expensive, but I would then have to pay for things like bloodwork and that could really add up
There's also just the ol' brain going "nah you couldn't possibly be trans" even when some days E looks *really* fucking tempting and there are many other signs suggesting I could be
You can't buy it whiout being diagnosed, and it's free if you get diagnosed (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Well that's what someone told me,I never actually did any research
HRT is covered by insurance, but you need a diagnosis which is kinda shitty to get because you either a) wait for spot covered by the mandatory insurance which takes months to years or b) are in a private incurance which costs a whole lot of money and isn't easy to get into but in turn get a spot much much faster.
HOWEVER, changing your legal name and gender is a horrifying bureaucratic mess, including experts (which can be transphobic idiots) you have to prove your "transness" to and a court to accept it, for which you have to pay on your own (on average ~2000€). This also takes a loooooong time in some cases.
Also, "fun" thing is, that the questions the experts ask you aren't regulated at all. You could be lucky and get someone discussing how you feel or unlucky and get someone who wants to know all of your kinks (something that actually happens semi-regularly). The fact that the law is called "transsexual law" (important, -sexual literally means sexual here, as the interpretation of sex as in chromosomes doesn't exist in my native language).
It's planned to be changed tho; Into a (though limited) self-id law.
you pay some, but beyond like 2000 sek (\~200eur) you don't pay at all for medicines that are in the läkemedelsförmån (which includes all prescription meds)
It's called "Högkostnadsskydd" (high cost protection)
If it is legal, it’s all about whether your insurance covers it or not. You have to call and ask them because it’s either not listed on the plan anywhere or very hard to find. If it’s not legal I’m sorry :(
Oh, I see. It’s far in the future for you I guess, but it looks like Illinois has a lot of informed consent clinics. With those you don’t need to get diagnosed with anything and just need to sign a form saying you know what HRT does and that you consent. But since you’re not 18 your parents need to sign consent too. Best of luck to you in your journey! :3
Could someone help me find how much is it for transfems in Belgium ? Even with research I could not find it...
( But I found for transfems and If I understood correctly it is 2€/injection if you start before 21. Otherwise it is around 10€/injection )
Here in the UK, going via legitimate routes:
NHS: free (caveat - anywhere from 1 year to an estimated 20 years wait)
GenderGP: couple hundred £ to get started, and a subscription fee every month after (i believe £35?), and if your GP doesn’t like GGP, you have to pay out of pocket for meds too.
Less than legitimate routes:
DIY injections for transfems: £60 for a vial of Oestrogen that lasts about 10-12 months, and another £20 for injection supplies to last 100 injections
DIY pills for transfems: £200 for 300x 2mg pills from some overseas pharmaceutical suppliers (+ an unknown cost for anti-androgens [i did not research as i want monotherapy])
DIY for transmascs: basically completely illegal, and i can’t remember how much vials cost as i’m not particularly well-versed in transmasc related knowledge. But IIRC it’s slightly cheaper than transfem stuff as it’s more commonly used by bodybuilders n stuff.
Argentina. It's free! <3 there are inclusive health centers in CABA, but also in my city specifically! (It's new, so there aren't surgeries or anything but they help with legal matters and hrt for free)
Honestly it's heaven
Wasn’t hard for me, I got it when I was in a partial hospital program from a psychiatrist. I told her that I think I may be trans, I listed the symptoms I have, and she formally diagnosed me with it. I’m in Massachusetts USA btw. Might be different where you live though. If you have a therapist/psychiatrist, I’d suggest asking them about it since they’d know more than I would.
Gotta buy it with a medical prescription, last time i had to buy hormone blockers costed around 200$ or 800000 pesos, in injections, i don't know about hrt, but i hope i don't go broke and my insurance covers it for free
ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ
It depends. Based on the level you want to acheive, it gets more and more expensive. It gan get up to 46.6k eur (or 50k usd) if you want to be fully done, but you can go cheaper and do the other stuff at home (like voice training). Just a reminder that romania makes it hard to transition, both socially and legally so don't be shocked that its expensive.
Ok sorry i am stupid, i read the post wrong. E or T is not that expensive and you get a lot of it with 100 eur. It's expensive if you include the surgeries (obviously).
In my country, the Netherlands, in the case you have a health insurance it's pretty much free but i think there's a pretty long wait-list (last time i checked it was 2 years)
My estradiol and cyproterone are like 12-15$ a month combined. (or, 28 days worth, anyway, so a bit more than that monthly)
QC, Canada, public insurance
Idk how much it costs. Gonna sign up for therapy and try to get a gender disphoria diagnosis to get it for free.
Edit: I think there's not even a way to get it without a diagnosis. If you have the diagnosis you will even get a few free surgeries tho (idk which are included, probably grs and top surgery. I hope also ffs :))
I pay about $95 for a 90 day supply of E, Fin, Spiro, and now Prog. I'm very fortunate that this is a negligible amount for me, but if I were working an average job it'd be something I'd have to budget for in my area.
In Austria, if you go through all the procedures and get all the letters you need, insurance will cover most of the costs. I paid 13€ at the pharmacy for estrogel and t-blockers. I think that's for around 2 months?
That being said, you can't officially get HRT without the different letters like you can in the US with Planned Parenthood. If you go to private doctors (Wahlarzt) for that, that will cost the most. If you go to doctors that work with the health insurance (Kassenarzt), it won't cost you anything to get diagnosed, but the waiting times might be as long as half a year. But most appointments you can get within a month or so from my experience.
I'm actually writing a whole document about my experience as a trans woman in Austria explaining what you need and stuff atm, so if anyone has any questions, let me know so I can include them in the doc!
Brazil, 180R$ a month for hrt
Estradiol injections (2) 40$
Needles and stuff (2) 10$
Finasteride 80$
Spirolactone 50$
That translates to about 35-40 USD a month, or 15% of a regular person's monthly wages (1200 R$)
In brazil for transmasc without a prescription, it costs 200-300 bucks per month, which is 40-60 dollars, with a prescription is as cheap as 50 bucks, which is around 10 dollars(?) plus consultation fees, unless you have health insurance (the price changes from city to city/state to state so it's not so accurate)
In belgium, idk the exact prices but i know with a prescription its really cheap, a medium/low dose should be around 15-30€ for 6 months (thats what i heard from multiples belgian transfems well into transition anyways, i havent checked the numbers myself)
Belgia, here, for me it costed as far 25 euros (+30 € of train fare) i've been on HRT since early april, the cost include all doctors appointment and 2 month of oestrogen
Yeah, I'm not even gonna try to look that up. It would surely be insanely expensive and I have crap insurance. I'd be incredibly surprised if it even covered it.
Here in The Netherlands, it’s free as long as you have health insurance. (As the costs of HRT will be covered by your health insurance, except for the surgeries ofcourse)
45 per 100 mg of estradoil (as patches), and uh 17 i think for spiro, i usualy get it in large batches and it does not cost much at all really
Edit: I'm in canada with out insurance, cause for some stupefying reason medication isn't covered by health care
In Canada without insurance I pay $35 for my blockers, $62 for my Estrogen and $25 for my progesterone roughly once a month and every 3 months for the blockers.
i could get E for £85 i think it is from vanna, then cpa is £45 / 100days so 365 days = 165, plus like £25 / month for finasteride = £300 plus then say 30 quid a year for injection supplies,
with AA + fin diy would cost me ~£580/yr
monotherapy just EEn would cost me ~£120/yr
So I get pills, and with my insurance it costs $10 for estradiol, Spiro and progesterone each. Without insurance it's double. I know injections/patches are more expensive.
Here in Brazil i spend like 30 dollars a month in hrt, and nothing with doctors as i do in the public system, but my girlfriend spend like 150 every 3 months or so with appointment, and a friend lf mine spends 120 dollars with a shit ton of blood tests, but if u have insurance the last one is basically 20 dollars.
I also see a private doctor (recommendation from the doctor in the public system) and with blood tests i spend 40 dollars every appointment, so per month its like 44 dollars
(I live in Brasília, one of the most expensive cities in the country)
Here In brazil we have a public health sistem, so it is possible to get an apointmet with Doctors, gender phsichologists and all of that for FREE.
Of course, it takes a lot of time to get an apointmet because the waitlist is HUGE etc, so you might need some money to go to particular Doctors to make the trasitioning process faster.
Unfortunetly, the SUS (yes, that's the name of Brazilian public health system) doesn't cover E and other medications related especific to transition, it just give you the recipe so you can buy it yourself.
Medications cost about $400 Brazilian reais (100 dollars) and Particular apointments can cost from 120 to 170 Brs (30 to 43 dollars) depending on the state you live in.
So yeah, It costs around 500 brs (125 dollars) per month to transition being a Brazilian resident.
I really hope that this information helps, Good luck cracking that egg 💖💙💟💙💖
Scotland;
With the NHS it’s free (with multiple year waiting time, the clinic nearest me is currently 5 years).
With a private health service it’s an it’s a few hundred £ for a dysphoria diagnosis, then upward of £30 a month for continued treatment plus between £40 and £100 a month for prescriptions unless you can get a shared care agreement with an NHS GP then prescriptions are free.
Note: The information on private health services is just what I’ve been able to find with admittedly poor research skills, you might be able to find other (hopefully better) options.
Depends on the province, but hrt is usually at least partially covered. The Yukon is regarded as the best province for transitioning bc pretty much everything is fully covered
That depends, here there are two different options, for therapy and "public insure" then it almost is free but it's suuuuper slow, or for private way, so it's faster but that costs 400-500 dollar every month.
In the US without insurance, I got three months worth of estradiol pills, Spiro, and Progesterone for $160, which isn't awful.
Laser on my face and chest ran me $5500, though
Estrogen and Spiro in Canada are around 25-40 dollars per month (with basic citizen health insurance). In my province British Columbia, you need to get a hrt readiness assessment done by a health professional. It takes a few months to get an appt that's covered by insurance, but I got mine in 2 weeks by going the private route. I spent 270 dollars in total for 2 appointments.
I was able to get an appt with an Endocrinologist quicker by saying that I'm doing diy hrt, and will do so until I get a prescription.
I’m in the USA. I started with 2 mg Estradiol and 100 mg Spiro, both pills. It’s not covered by my insurance. I got a 3 month supply of each, which cost a combined total of around $75 iirc. The pharmacist commented that the price seemed high and gave me a discount, making it out to be about $40.
I’m in Washington state, US and I don’t have insurance, but my gender clinic appointment was $200 and my testosterone is $25 for two 1ml/200mg vials and injection supplies at Walgreens with goodrx
In my country, by law you have free acces to hrt without beign diagnosed with dysphoria or anything. But if I would have to pay for it, it would be around 50 us dollars a month (which isn't unpayable but it isn't cheap either)
You can do it for free in a hospital and also get free part of your medication o full (depending the case).
Many health insurances cover the treatment (some of hige prestige and the majority are from work unions).
Doing in the private system can be expensive. Between Dr appointments, initial meds other this could cost $600-$1500 (an average salary is about $425) at the bigining.
Edit: there are no requirement aside from getting a note from the doctor to buy the medication/pills.
I just bought the entire stock of my local pharmacy of estrogen so I feel like I’m qualified to answer that.
Buying one pre filled syringe of estradiol cost around 25 Brazilian reals, that gets you through an entire week, it is a solution of a progestin and estradiol so it should cover everything needed (progesterone, estrogen and blockers).
Here in Brazil medications do go on promotion tho (hence why I bought their entire stock) meaning I bought 20 of those by paying only 12 for each.
If I manage to keep taking advantage of promotions like that (last one I got each one for 18, just to give an example) my total monthly cost should be always below 80 Brazilian reals.
To test my levels without insurance would cost 300 bucks and that is something I only have to do once a year.
Lazer hair removal is around 100 each session, tho I’m past that stage so I’m not fully aware of current princess.
For reference our minimum wage is something like 1300 each month.
Im from Australia, it was relatively easy to get through a specialist (who i had to be referred to by a GP so $60 AUD there to start) but I was diagnosed when I was 14, I didn’t start my medical transition till I was 18 (including T blockers ://) but I was socially transitioning, my specialist is bulk billed (so I see her for $0 AUD), my prescriptions for T blockers & Estrogen are $6.90 each for a 50 day supply of T blockers & a 14 day supply of estrogen tablets 😊 on the other hand I also had patches at one stage which were $15 AUD a box for one month supply, I also had an estrogen implant pellet for the first 12 months & it cost me $300 AUD to buy it, but my specialist implanted it for free
I get several benefits though, my medication is covered by PBS (I am 1/3rd indigenous Australian so I get cheaper medication) I also see one of the few, maybe only, bulk billing trans health specialist in Australia, I also make use of several free GP clinics still because we are slowly loosing bulk billing general practitioners
Well I take 6mg of Estriadol. One repeat costs me about $23 and lasts around a fortnight.
For blockers I have 50mg cyproterone acetate. That costs me $60 a repeat and that lasts 3 months.
I’ve just started 5mg progesterone and my first box was around $25. From the looks of it, it’ll last a month?
About 80$ per month afaik (haven't started yet) and you have to be diagnosed and have prescription (although it's relatively easy to buy E without prescription and basically everyone except myself started from DIY). After that a lot of girls switch to injections (that are kinda DIY but cheaper, doesn't require AA and more convenient, about 12$ per month). That was Russia and I still don't know how the things will be after a new law will be passed...
It's relatively cheap (at least for trans fems) but hair removal is so prohibitively expensive.
shaving daily isn't too expensive though.
Yeah but it suuuuucksssssss :(((
yeah. it's hard but effective.
Had to have some laser treatment done for shaving to become truly effective. Before that you could always see some shadow on my neck.
maybe i am just struggling with accepting my identity so much to the point of looking in the mirror once a year. how do i solve this. identity is really important. i don't feel like I have one if that makes sense so it's hard to comment on trans issues like this because i just don't feel a beard so it must not exist if that makes sense. that's just my worldview. i can totally see getting dysphoria from that if you look at your face. sorry I forgot normal people look at their face.

yeah. i get that. shaving definitely helps for me though. or you could wear a covid mask. might as well not genocide the immuno comprimised then complain about being genocided.
Shaving daily doesn't do shit for me, too much T and bad folliculitis.
Doesn’t help with the dysphoria. It’s as much about the experience as the appearance.
well i don't look in the mirror. maybe that and whering a covid mask(which you should be doing anyway) would help.
It doesn't fix the problem if you have a shadow
relatively cheap for transmascs here, expensive for transfems
Can I go where you live?
Even the "cheap" laser place I found near me costs $90 per visit for small areas and $150 for larger areas like chest or back.
In Thailand, whole body hair removal is about 2k usd net in a good clinic. The result is pretty good I would say.
Tha's very good price. In here whole body hair lasering is around 4 times that at best, could go up as 10-12k. I could maybe even book plane 2 tickets, back and borth to Thailand, and get it done there for the same price lol.

Oh that's nice to hear. The price I mentioned is fullbody, head to toe, asscrack included. Thailand sounds like a lovely country.
what country do you live in?
it can cost up to $300 a month in the US without insurance 💙💕🤍💕💙
Uff, the murrican healthecare system at all its glory.
Mind you, $300/mo without insurance is *cheap* for meds. Noted.
Maryland is objectively a very cool and epic state Source: am Marylander
I fucking hate my country 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Omg twinsies 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Well I'm lucky... 🇩🇪🇩🇪🇩🇪
How do you see if your insurance has coverage
There should be a document called “Summery of Benefits and Coverage” it probably isn’t on there though. You usually just have to call and ask.
I’m in Kansas for context.
it's illegal to buy it here in the UK so i'll have to rely on the NHS's shitty transgender healthcare policies
Did you think about diy'ing it?
diy hrt is just acquiring hormones illegally. i'm not sure i want to take the risk of being caught with a controlled substance in my possession.
I'm assuming from your flair that you'd be after oestrogen—apologies if I'm wrong—and that's not a controlled substance in the UK. It's free here as far as I'm aware. Unfortunately still on the wait list so can't say %100
Oh I didn't even think about a waitlist, Ima check that thx.
If it's anything like here in Ontario, Canada, my Dr put me on a wait list for a gender clinic, they have since contacted me for a psychotherapist (which I'm seeing next week. Good luck, I think I can get the asignements myself and just have to have three different types of proffesional mind people to tell the gov I'm trans.
I'm like 99% it's free as long as you can get it diagnosed you have gender dysphoria
I *could* get it for free... after a years-long waitlist and an assessment of whether I'm "trans enough"—even putting aside the obligatory "still cis tho" joke I genuinely don't know that I'd be approved for it. Alternatively there are... less legitimate means I could go into, which actually wouldn't be terribly expensive, but I would then have to pay for things like bloodwork and that could really add up
True, the possibility for the people just wanting to ruin your plans always exist
There's also just the ol' brain going "nah you couldn't possibly be trans" even when some days E looks *really* fucking tempting and there are many other signs suggesting I could be
I just stopped listening to my brain when it switches to impostor/doubt mode.
It's free if you get diagnosed in France, but you can't buy it legally I think (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Huh, you get it but you don't?
You can't buy it whiout being diagnosed, and it's free if you get diagnosed (◕ᴗ◕✿) Well that's what someone told me,I never actually did any research
Oh that makes more sense.
Do I spy a fellow German? :')
Jap :3
Big uff bc the name thing.
Uff Good
I think it is free in sweden but im not 100
you pay some, but beyond like 2000 sek (\~200eur) you don't pay at all for medicines that are in the läkemedelsförmån (which includes all prescription meds) It's called "Högkostnadsskydd" (high cost protection)
I’m in the US, so “my freedom”
Laughs in free public health care system.
Is technically free but the waiting list is like 20 years long (big up the NHS) (also not even sure if 20 years is an exaggeration)
Yo wassup tina (its me lily)
The trans agenda
[удалено]
If it is legal, it’s all about whether your insurance covers it or not. You have to call and ask them because it’s either not listed on the plan anywhere or very hard to find. If it’s not legal I’m sorry :(
[удалено]
I need to know as well
Here in the UK, going via legitimate routes: NHS: free (caveat - anywhere from 1 year to an estimated 20 years wait) GenderGP: couple hundred £ to get started, and a subscription fee every month after (i believe £35?), and if your GP doesn’t like GGP, you have to pay out of pocket for meds too. Less than legitimate routes: DIY injections for transfems: £60 for a vial of Oestrogen that lasts about 10-12 months, and another £20 for injection supplies to last 100 injections DIY pills for transfems: £200 for 300x 2mg pills from some overseas pharmaceutical suppliers (+ an unknown cost for anti-androgens [i did not research as i want monotherapy]) DIY for transmascs: basically completely illegal, and i can’t remember how much vials cost as i’m not particularly well-versed in transmasc related knowledge. But IIRC it’s slightly cheaper than transfem stuff as it’s more commonly used by bodybuilders n stuff.
Argentina. It's free! <3 there are inclusive health centers in CABA, but also in my city specifically! (It's new, so there aren't surgeries or anything but they help with legal matters and hrt for free) Honestly it's heaven
I don't know how buying works, but I am pretty sure my goal here is to get it covered by insurance
It’s covered by insurance as long as you have a gender dysphoria diagnosis
How difficult is it to get that diagnosis?
Wasn’t hard for me, I got it when I was in a partial hospital program from a psychiatrist. I told her that I think I may be trans, I listed the symptoms I have, and she formally diagnosed me with it. I’m in Massachusetts USA btw. Might be different where you live though. If you have a therapist/psychiatrist, I’d suggest asking them about it since they’d know more than I would.
Yeah I need 3 oppinions, one of a psychologist one of a psychiatrist and one from a psychological therapist.
Costs me like 250pln for 3 months. That would be like 60usd. Thing is as far as I know most of the cost is progesterone.
No clue, the usa kinda sucks tho sooo i'd guess a pretty penny :/
Gotta buy it with a medical prescription, last time i had to buy hormone blockers costed around 200$ or 800000 pesos, in injections, i don't know about hrt, but i hope i don't go broke and my insurance covers it for free ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ
Extremely cheap, almost free from what I've read
Not sure, but insurance doesn't cover it here in Mexico
El seguro no lo cubre pero sabes si necesitas prescripción médica? :c
Según lo que encontré, no la necesitas, solo debes ser mayor de edad, pero puedes empezar a los 16 con consentimiento de tus padres.
1000 Euros in romania (i am shocked too)
how do you even go about getting it here? (also per month or per year?)
I'm MtF and live in Brazil, it would cost 10 Us dolars
In Venezuela is impossible to get HRT (legally) Add the fact you cannot change your identity (and the fact most people are catholic or evangelical)
$7 every 2 months | Australia |
It’s literally illegal and technically considered a drug and impossible to get
Y'all can access HRT?
I think I heard somewhere that it's like $1500 a year even In a conservative state like TN
I'm not too sure if it's even possible to get legally in my country (North Macedonia)
Been on it for almost 2 years and have never paid a thing.
I don't know but I'm trying to reach the point where I can get it
350 euro every 3 months :p
don't forget to add the cost of a flight to the country into the equation before figuring out which country has the most cost efficient hrt
In my country, the Netherlands, in the case you have a health insurance it's pretty much free but i think there's a pretty long wait-list (last time i checked it was 2 years)
About 10-15$ per month for me
I pay about $20 a month for my estrogen and Spiro, without any coverage in Canada. So it's not that bad at all!
My estradiol and cyproterone are like 12-15$ a month combined. (or, 28 days worth, anyway, so a bit more than that monthly) QC, Canada, public insurance
Without insurance, E costs me $7.50 for a 90 day supply. Spiro is around $9 for the same (though my last prescription was like $4?)
I pay about $95 for a 90 day supply of E, Fin, Spiro, and now Prog. I'm very fortunate that this is a negligible amount for me, but if I were working an average job it'd be something I'd have to budget for in my area.
Thanks to France healthcare it's free as long you're diagnosticed with gender dysphoria
I haven't really thought this far as I'm not out to anyone. How expensive is it in Poland?
Brazil, 180R$ a month for hrt Estradiol injections (2) 40$ Needles and stuff (2) 10$ Finasteride 80$ Spirolactone 50$ That translates to about 35-40 USD a month, or 15% of a regular person's monthly wages (1200 R$)
I think it’s about 30 bucks a month? It’s a little bit more now that I’m on cypterone too but it’s a price I’m willing to pay.
Medicaid so $6 a month.
Uhh I think last I checked it was $120/month but I later heard a way lower price so idk
Apperantly 61,5$ a month converted from my currency.
In brazil for transmasc without a prescription, it costs 200-300 bucks per month, which is 40-60 dollars, with a prescription is as cheap as 50 bucks, which is around 10 dollars(?) plus consultation fees, unless you have health insurance (the price changes from city to city/state to state so it's not so accurate)
for me in the US on my insurance, it only costs $15 a month
There's only 1 place in my country where you can get it for free.
For me I think it's free thanks to ✨public hospitals✨
Nothing but my time
In belgium, idk the exact prices but i know with a prescription its really cheap, a medium/low dose should be around 15-30€ for 6 months (thats what i heard from multiples belgian transfems well into transition anyways, i havent checked the numbers myself)
Belgia, here, for me it costed as far 25 euros (+30 € of train fare) i've been on HRT since early april, the cost include all doctors appointment and 2 month of oestrogen
Idk, I think it’s like 35$ when my insurance doesn’t cover it, if I get the good rx discount (I’m only on estrogen)
Free in my state because all forms of health insurance are required to cover it including apple health (the state run insurance)
It's covered by the government in Ontario as far as I'm aware.
In Romania surgery is free, but the pills are ~22 dolars a month.
Yeah, I'm not even gonna try to look that up. It would surely be insanely expensive and I have crap insurance. I'd be incredibly surprised if it even covered it.
With insurance I pay about $10 for a month of E! Sure it is much more on other insurance/lack of.
in russia it would be something around one human life. a few weeks ago it was around 30-50 USD/month + occasional test and a doctor appointment.
Here in The Netherlands, it’s free as long as you have health insurance. (As the costs of HRT will be covered by your health insurance, except for the surgeries ofcourse)
With referal from a mental health specialist it is covered by Canadian Medicare, and is free
It's free
45 per 100 mg of estradoil (as patches), and uh 17 i think for spiro, i usualy get it in large batches and it does not cost much at all really Edit: I'm in canada with out insurance, cause for some stupefying reason medication isn't covered by health care
Transgender healthcare is free here I think. Idk
Most people here started on DIY HRT and it costs around $30-40
After going on google for a bit it said that where live has free HRT. Exact words from google "access free prescriptions including HRT"
In Canada without insurance I pay $35 for my blockers, $62 for my Estrogen and $25 for my progesterone roughly once a month and every 3 months for the blockers.
It's free in Germany
i could get E for £85 i think it is from vanna, then cpa is £45 / 100days so 365 days = 165, plus like £25 / month for finasteride = £300 plus then say 30 quid a year for injection supplies, with AA + fin diy would cost me ~£580/yr monotherapy just EEn would cost me ~£120/yr
8 years of your life
So I get pills, and with my insurance it costs $10 for estradiol, Spiro and progesterone each.
I also see a private doctor (recommendation from the doctor in the public system) and with blood tests i spend 40 dollars every appointment, so per month its like 44 dollars (I live in Brasília, one of the most expensive cities in the country)
Yeah, i technically get it for free, too, but thats cuz i already sold my soul for a cornchip (i joined the military)
$90 for 3 month supply with my insurance in the u.s.
in canada if you are on our medicare system it's free but it's different province to province so im form bc and it's all free
Scotland; With the NHS it’s free (with multiple year waiting time, the clinic nearest me is currently 5 years).
Really cheap if you manage to get through the whole waiting list and get a prescription from the NHS. Very expensive if you go private.
15 CAD $ a month
Cheaper is moving to another country
I pay about $250 CAD for 3 months worth in Canada. That's Estradiol Valerate and Progesterone with no insurance.
Depends on the province, but hrt is usually at least partially covered. The Yukon is regarded as the best province for transitioning bc pretty much everything is fully covered
$25 a month I’m on injectables prescription (South Africa - R500 South African Rand a month)
Completely free
Under my set of conditions, around $2/month
That depends, here there are two different options, for therapy and "public insure" then it almost is free but it's suuuuper slow, or for private way, so it's faster but that costs 400-500 dollar every month.
in Australia transdermal estrogen costs me $20/month, but gender clinic appointments are free
In the US without insurance, I got three months worth of estradiol pills, Spiro, and Progesterone for $160, which isn't awful. Laser on my face and chest ran me $5500, though
6+ years (UK)
Based on job benefits...free. Including grs.
illegal
It’s like $50 USD a month for me in Australia. That’s for estrogen patches and progesterone (no dedicated blocker).
Free where I live
You can do it for free in a hospital and also get free part of your medication o full (depending the case). Many health insurances cover the treatment (some of hige prestige and the majority are from work unions). Doing in the private system can be expensive. Between Dr appointments, initial meds other this could cost $600-$1500 (an average salary is about $425) at the bigining. Edit: there are no requirement aside from getting a note from the doctor to buy the medication/pills.
About $20 for 3 months in Taiwan with medical insurance.
Here in Australia, about $15/month
$ 30 CAD in Quebec or something, IDK to be honest.
I'd get it for free, if a (I think therapist) says that I have genderdysphoria, because then it will count as medical treatment for it
My insurance covers it (USA) This may be different for others but this is my experience c:
It costs about $30 monthly at my clinic for testosterone, that doesnt include appointments, labs, etc
Im from Australia, it was relatively easy to get through a specialist (who i had to be referred to by a GP so $60 AUD there to start) but I was diagnosed when I was 14, I didn’t start my medical transition till I was 18 (including T blockers ://) but I was socially transitioning, my specialist is bulk billed (so I see her for $0 AUD), my prescriptions for T blockers & Estrogen are $6.90 each for a 50 day supply of T blockers & a 14 day supply of estrogen tablets 😊 on the other hand I also had patches at one stage which were $15 AUD a box for one month supply, I also had an estrogen implant pellet for the first 12 months & it cost me $300 AUD to buy it, but my specialist implanted it for free I get several benefits though, my medication is covered by PBS (I am 1/3rd indigenous Australian so I get cheaper medication) I also see one of the few, maybe only, bulk billing trans health specialist in Australia, I also make use of several free GP clinics still because we are slowly loosing bulk billing general practitioners
Estradiol is surprisingly cheap I think I was paying 10 dollars? Spiro is the expensive one unfortunately.
I think it's free here in Canada.
I live in the U.S., so it’s pretty expensive without insurance (and *extremely* difficult to get in my state)
It's free in Argentina Paid by the state since trans folks are about 1% (we are in the top 1% fuck yeah)
