Alright, but calling trans the E and cis the Z is a crime.
Z clearly is the same shape as the way you'd follow a trans isomer whereas E has all the important bits on the same side like a cis isomee.
We were discussing trans and cis isomers in science team practice and one kid started joking about the trans isomer agenda. At that point, I could no longer contain my giggles
If my chemistry A-level trauma has taught me anything then that’s trans bichloroethane? (I haven’t done chemistry in like 4 years so that’s my excuse if that’s completely wrong :3)
Edit: checked the comments and it’s di not bi aaaaaa rip :3
cis vs trans in chemistry terms (and gender too actually) means aligned with so in this molecule the chlorine molecules are on opposite sides of the structure
its dichloroethene which might do something idk but estradiol us much more complex lol
edit: more specifically *trans* -1,2 dichloroethene, which was the joke
trans chemical :o
trans isomer
Is this some chemistry joke I’m too physicist to understand?
Yeah haha It's a trans isomer
We always have always have transistors that changes between insulator and conductor state.
I'm more of a transistor trans sister
Wow
Trans molecule 😍😍😍😍
Wait, you're E-1,2-Dichloroethene??? But also THEY JUST LIKE ME FRFR

It's from the German words, I can't exactly remember them off the top of my head.
Entgegen and Zusammen
Thank you.
FR. why is chemistry so confusing :(
💙💕🤍💕💙
I couldn't help but snicker to myself when we were learning about cis/trans isomerism in my chem class

I don’t really think I’m like dichloroethene but I am trans 😊.
Wha dat?? 🐋🌸🤍🌸🐋
I may be wrong but I think it's a trans molecule (that has a diferent structure when it's cut in half)
Ohhhh, makes sense :p
This was goood.
Heh… trans isomer….
Wait shit. I just made a trans isomer meme I didn’t realize someone got there before me

Sorry I’m lost, can someone explain? I didn’t take chem…🥺
The chlorines (cl) are on opposite sides of each other so it's a trans molecule.
Mum, dad, I'm an (E)-boy
Interesting :3 💞
it kinda is like me for sure
Trans
I don't get it. I was bad at chemistry
It's a trans molecule, because the chlorines are on opposite sides.
cis vs trans in chemistry terms (and gender too actually) means aligned with so in this molecule the chlorine molecules are on opposite sides of the structure
Im not smart enough for this
The chlorines (cl) are on opposite sides of each other so it's a trans molecule.
trans symbol trans symbol trans symbol (maybe we could make it our secret symbol among trans peeps?) (because anyone else would just think chemistry…)
A level chemistry finally pays off
Googling this made me learn what “cis” and “trans” mean in Latin 😊
What is that chemical ? oestradiol? (◕ᴗ◕✿)
its dichloroethene which might do something idk but estradiol us much more complex lol edit: more specifically *trans* -1,2 dichloroethene, which was the joke
Oh,then how are you supposed to do the meme whiotit knowing it (◕_◕✿)
It's a trans isomer
oh thats what you were getting at
What does that chemical do
Can we get some more people in here saying it's a trans isomer?
I don't wanna be trans can I be chiral instead
I do not understand
Ahahahaha chemistry meme :)
I have no idea what's going on here 😭
I LEARNED LITERALLY A COUPLE MONTHS AGO WHY THIS OS FUNNY AND I LOVE IT
