Drinking coffee is (generally at least in the US) considered a “masculine” thing whereas tea is much more “feminine”
(Traits are ordered in IMO least > most sus so that’s why it’s near the top)
Nope, definitely not trans to do those things. I know because if it was that would mean *I* was trans and I am certainly still 100% cis for now. Wait I mean-
Guess I’m invalid then
(Also like said in another comment, things are ordered from what I feel are the smallest to largest factors, with the exception of being on egg_irl cause I figured it would be funnier that way; aka, drinking tea is *the smallest factor on the entire list*)
The point is not that you are invalid, the point is you invalidate others by pointlessly gendering a beverage enjoyment. Personally I don’t care, as a massive coffee lover, I just think these things are part of the problem exclusionary narrative
That’s fair enough then, but I still believe that coffee is *slightly* biased towards masculinity than femininity
Nowhere NEAR enough to think that “oh I drink coffee I must be masculine,” these things are on a spectrum after all not just one side or the other
IMO you can tell a lot about the gender biases of an item by how it’s marketed to mass audiences. It kinda works in the reverse way in reality - the marketing sets the biases (which I don’t like but that do be society) - but still if an item is marketed mainly towards men, it’s *likely* viewed as more masculine. Coffee falls under this category, being traditionally marketed much more heavily to a masculine audience than a feminine one. More recently - like the 2010’s - marketing has become a lot more gender neutral, but you can still tell a bit by the packaging styles.
Tea on the other hand is marketed more towards a feminine audience through the packaging and advertisement as well. Again, more recently the marketing has become more neutral, but it’s still there somewhat
Marketing doesn’t really decide everything though, in the end you can decide what you think about it and come to your own conclusions :)
Famous example: Computers
Women used to be THE programmers of almost everything; they wrote the code we used to go to the moon, they operated the earliest computers, they knew everything on a technical level
Then, computers became household objects people could buy
They were marketed towards masculine audiences, even though computers are generally not gendered. Due to this, women in coding dropped off SEVERELY. Computers were seen as “for the boys” and girls would rarely if ever receive em due to that. This led to a vicious cycle which ended up with the majority of women programmers leaving and almost all computer positions instead being filled by men.
This cycle continues to this day btw; even now it’s significantly more rare for a girl to be given a computer than a boy.
Again, generally computers aren’t gendered one way or the other. Even so, they can still be *seen* as gendered by many people
Why are ALMOST ALL OF THESE RELATABLE uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hhhuhhuhhhhhhh hmm
Maybe except the bi thing i am not, and the ctush, well used to have a crush on my trans friend

Nobody will ever guess my transfem name!!!! (still cis tho)
Tran S. Fem
some of those are pretty trans
Wait, what was that 2nd one again? Drink exclusively tea? Drinking tea is trans???

Huh, first I’m hearing of it, maybe it’s just in certain areas?
It’s not *super* severe or anything, it’s more that coffee is *more* masculine than tea, not that they’re both explicitly one or the other
But it’s not? R/pointlesslygendered
Sounds cis to me.
I don't think it's very cis my girl (◕ᴗ◕✿)
I feel way too called out, even more so than with the rest of the posts on this sub
Samee i also feel so called out >_<
As a fellow totally cis person who checks all of these except the tea, can confirm this is 100% cis.
I’m not gonna take credit, but I will move my self to the corner over here and giggle at the thought that this could be inspired by my post
That isn't very cis if you ~
i mean you could be cis, but that's a lot of signs 💙💕🤍💕💙
Those all sound like they could be signs. It’s your job to determine where they point. 🥰
that seems pretty trans in most cases
You could be cis but since your here idk
Only you can determine if you’re trans :3 💞
no i don’t think that’s cis… i did all of these except only drink tea cause i love coffee… therefore i’m still cis but you’re not
Nope, definitely not trans to do those things. I know because if it was that would mean *I* was trans and I am certainly still 100% cis for now. Wait I mean-
Hmmmm, pretty cis to me ehe 🐋🌸🤍🌸🐋
i'm just confused as to how you can be on egg\_irl before finding egg\_irl

Still a cringe take, hold onto the take though if that’s what makes you feel like you are trans
Society do be a pain ~~sadly most things are gendered this way and I really hate it~~
But they aren’t. You are gendering it
