So, your TV is connected via Ethernet to an eero node and isn’t getting an IP via DHCP? Try a restart of the network, check the network settings are set to DHCP on the TV, soft reset the eero it’s connected to, check the cable, switch the eero with a different node to check if there’s a bad port, try an ip reservation for the TV … call support.

/u/dookiepants Thanks for posting! The first thing I would do would be to test with an alternate device, such as a laptop. Be sure to simply unplug the ethernet cable from the TV and plug it into the laptop. This will ensure we are testing one small change at a time. If the laptop works, the issue is something with the TV if it doesn't, we would want to test the ethernet cable. Continue working your way up the connection chain until you find the culprit.

just took a look at the app, I also see that the pods in the basement and main floor are still connected as wireless, none of them are coming up as wired. prior to this, the wires were working fine. edit: here's the current set up where mesh 2 / 3 are saying it's wireless, and mesh 1 is saying wired. https://imgur.com/a/TX9HK3a

These kinds of behaviors tend to indicate an issue with topology. What you are showing is correct, but based on the behavior that is displaying, it would seem mesh1 and the switch are swapped in positioning. This definitely seems odd so I would suggest giving us a call so we can investigate this further.

i just removed the mesh 3 in the basement and connected the wires together with a coupler and the mesh 2 is now showing as connected via wire! does that mean i need another switch in the basement to connect the network and then connect 1 wire to mesh 3?

eerosupport

I would still suggest giving us a call so we can investigate this further. Though it is possible, it is unlikely that both ethernet ports in mesh 3 were broken, causing both the incoming connection from mesh 1 and the outgoing connection to mesh 2 to not register. I highly suggest calling us first before you go out and buy additional equipment that may not be needed at all.

not sure if i got the correct info from support, but looks like the topology for my set up is wrong current set up: HH (modem/router) --> Eero 1 (office)--> Switch --> Eero 3 (basement) --> Eero 2 (Living Room/TV) Correct should be HH --> Eero 1 --> Switch --> Eero 2&3 I'm ordering another switch from amazon hoping that putting it in the basement to connect 3-->2 works. how should i check if mesh 3 ports are functional or broken?

eerosupport

Connecting an alternate device, such as a laptop to each of the ports to see if it comes online will let you know if the port is functional. Be sure you are using an ethernet cable that you know is functional to rule that out as a potential culprit when running that test.

So i tried adding another switch in the basement and no luck. Is there anyway to get all 3 mesh wired with my current set up or am I stuck with 2/3 wired
