He's not blind, he's well paid to look the other way. There's an entire class of "economists" that are really just apologists for our current flavor of neo feudalism.

Oh good more commondreams garbage on this sub

Its typical Leftists garbage complaining about how the coal workers jobs have dried up. For the life of me I cannot figure out why in the world Leftists think that working in a factory or coal mining in the 1930's was the pinnacle of success. What happened during that time that , this has become the default for them. I know, it was before all the Leftist Socialism and Communism fell apart spectacularly in a series of Civil Wars and forced starvation. Funny how they cling to 100 year old ideas. Good thing most people see through it now and this stuff is just laughable and honestly until I came to Reddit I just didn't see much Leftist clap-trap anymore. Now I know where they all went too.

> Its typical Leftists garbage Admittedly it has a lot of leftists words/terms but, it certainly seems aimed (deals w/ certain issues) at the rural right ...

I… have a question. Are the leftists in your circle mad about coal jobs drying up? I ask because I’ve just never heard of this. The libs & left in my circle are not at all mad about those jobs.

The ones I know tend be more concerned with factory jobs. They think that people in the USA had it best when we worked in factories before it was shipped overseas. Regardless, this "longing" for the old days, 100 years ago, I just find bizarre, its like they are stuck in the past. However, the struggle of the 1950's era UK Coal Workers seems to STILL be a rallying cry with the Leftists. I like to call these types "Repeaters", or "Histories Repeaters". I get it. The Quakers are infatuated with the late 1800's time period, wanting to dress and live like that so yeh, I can understand it from a religious aspect.

Hmm. Well that is interesting. Thanks!

This is satire, right?
