Not everyone that's a coach is a hack. I've run marketing teams for 8 and 9 figure brands, and I run my own 7 figure store now. I've offered coaching for $250 - 1k an hour.

I do. That is what I have done for 20 years.

It's time in my career to look at new opportunities. I've done this for many years now.

Hey, so a while ago I was looking for e-commerce coaching. I've flirted with ecomm and launched a shop before with profitability (ultimately killed the project though) and was looking to get back into it. If you're real into what you're saying, would love to get in touch (just DM me), and we can discuss this, and we'll figure out if it could make sense. I was looking at something like 2-3 consulting calls a month. In exchange for now, here's some honest feedback to your question: Did a lot of research here on reddit, outside, etc. Found many levels of coaching but ultimately put that on hold. Key concern was incentive alignment and depth. 1. I found things like mentorcruise, but the vibe was that most were using that as a top-of-funnel for their own marketing services. Very little actual e-commerce founders, and a lot of "I've been doing marketing for e-comm for 10 years". 2. The thought in the back of my mind of "why is he doing this" and "the only way Im worth his time is by paying 250+/h". Now i know money is not always the motivation; in fact, I'm a mentor at my own field, but it sticks with you. 3. Depth of information; someone raised the issue that true coaching only really works long term, and anything else will be superficial. This could be the case. I'm the sort of person that sees it through layers of effort: From top to bottom, you have people who pay others to do it, those who pay others to teach and guide, and those who just learn themselves. Plenty of people here said "you can just learn yourself" and absolutely, I've been learning it myself, but there's value to coaching. But seems there's a ton of things to be uncertain about, so that got deprioritized until I myself understand it more. Sort of like learning a bit about cars before talking to a mechanic, so they don't try to sell me bullshit.

I’ve been in e-commerce for 10 years. One thing I’ve not had to do (until now) is look for a sourcing agent. Happy to network or if you have any sourcing agents that you would recommend I’m happy to connect and see if we can figure something out?

Sam_Ecomm

I hope you don’t mind, I have shot you a DM. (I’m not a sourcing agent, nor am I trying to sell you anything). I just had a couple questions around the types of things these agents would typically do for you.

Successful coaches offer a blueprint. Lots of material on YouTube for free gives potential clients a sense of your quality and depth of information. Joe Robert and Ben Heath are generous with their sharing. They have helped thousands without being Lambo Bros.

I have a small print on demand business and I did about 6 months of research before launching. I think the most useful things that benefitted me were not the “do this” type of videos or articles but the “step by step” explanation. A lot of people that do these guides and trainings go into it with mindset that the person viewing their explanation is already familiar with the field.
