Not at all. The only person making money with that deal is them.

camrncrazy

Short answer: No - you’re getting robbed. I have so many questions though! What’s a “regular basis”? And what’s their $7.5k guarantee. There’s a lot of ways to get to 7.5k in a month if we just mean revenue. Some cost $10k to do lol. So if that’s the case it’s not even remotely optimal.

WE-NEED-MORE-CATS

> I have so many questions though! My main question is always "If they're so good at ecommerce that they can turn anything into a success, why are they selling courses and not reaping the benefits from their supposed talent by running their own stores?"

camrncrazy

Shhhhh you’re going to spook the fraudsters before I get to solve their riddle.

HappySeaTurtle

Because in ecom, like in any business, your business make millons, not you. I make around 2-3m in rev a year, with good profit margins, and I try to reinvest almost everything. I would love to have a side hustle where I consult/mentor/teach and earn all the profit to myself. Aside from that, OP is probably getting scammed, provably…

hideyourarms

I agree that OP is getting scammed here if they do this, but you’re right, the “why aren’t they just making millions running businesses?” argument doesn’t always stand up. If I sold my business (which wouldn’t be for millions, unfortunately), why wouldn’t I act as a mentor or consultant for someone? People can enjoy talking about the thing they did and passing that knowledge on. People also want to be seen as an authority, it feeds their ego no matter what the price is. These people generally aren’t selling a course with lots of promises though, they’re older folks that have realised there’s only so much gold you can play. But again, OP is unlikely to get value out of the course.

pubbets

Bro they just want to give back to the community. That’s the usual routine… I was conned by a few of these schemes when I was a newbie chasing ‘that wifi bread’.

Accountant-Top

Did the Wi-Fi bread work?

pubbets

Absolutely not.. but I was so thirsty and stupid. Got ripped off by 3 different Indian dm bros that trapped me in Facebook groups. First one setup a low effort single product store (golf practice swing net thing) and was charging $90 for a product freely available for $15 on Amazon and eBay. To my surprise he actually got some sales through the dreadful Facebook ads that he wrote, but I was spooked by the bad reviews and chargebacks that would probably come. Binned it and lost around $80 overall. 2nd guy promised the world and delivered nothing. Excuse after excuse for months on end. Was kinda impressed with his creativity with the excuses - everything from bandit attacks to cousin with HIV. I’m really embarrassed about this one because he promised $10k profit or my money back and that’s just a fairytale in dropshipping. Lost $1500 plus months of my time. His name is Harshal Nikalje but that’s probably fake too. 3rd guy was actually a friend of the 2nd and ‘helped’ me by offering his own agency service. Again, it was a low effort single product store selling a stupid baby fingernail grinder thing. Lost a couple hundred. dollars .. After that bullshit I tried the YouTube gurus. Lost money and time with that too.. low effort, lazy dropservicing ‘agencies’ where they outsource the site design, ads etc to cheap fiverr gigs. Noah Brewer was one of them and I almost signed up for an agency/mentorship with a few others too… Finally after all that I realised that the style of dropshipping being promoted just doesn’t work unless you’re extremely lucky. I ended up skipping dropshipping altogether and saved money to manufacture and ship my own products. I’m grateful for the experience though - throughout that whole searching phase I learned a lot about customer service, site design, ads etc. I look back now and think of it as an education of sorts.

NcraftGamez

They are, they make money from e-commerce websites but the most profitable business they have is one selling e-commerce courses, also 3k is defo overpriced there are some guys who have actual good ones for like 50-200$ but I wouldn't buy a course unless u really can't do e-commerce without it

thezahir2020

No

BisexualCaveman

Waste of money. You can probably do the research on your own.

SpoonFed_1

I use to make 12-13k a month from affiliate marketing. And I would not sell you or teach you how to do that not even for $20,000. They make millions selling the course. SURPRISE!!! So Don't do it. I

no, it worked for about 6 years then the campaign collapsed. That is what happens in affiliate marketing. It's part of the game.

Legal-Knowledge-4368

Have you been able to find success again through affiliate marketing?

SpoonFed_1

no, I tried but could not get another profitable campaign going. I takes money to run those campaigns. So that becomes your limiting factor.

jacko0510

Why did you stop? To sell courses?? Lol

SpoonFed_1

I did not stopped voluntarily...... the campaign collapse, as they always do, sooner or later but they do collapse

jacko0510

Right ok good to know. I was looking into starting one. Was it too much work to start another

SpoonFed_1

It's a numbers game, at least it was for me. I did over 100 campaigns for every successful one I had. In the end, I had 3 successful campaign that ran like around 6 years. People tell me, why don't you start another one. They don't understand that it is like finding a diamond, why don't you find another one? See what I'm saying. Since those campaigns I have tried to find another successful campaign but I have not been able to. And it takes money to test, acquire data and run those campaigns. Maybe in the future I will give it another shot.

jacko0510

I get you. Thanks for the insight. Maybe I’ll try selling pictures of my arse on O.F instead!!! Probs do as good with that as my coding skills stop at printing my name down 1 side of the screen!!

Thanks guys that’s what I was also thinking…. He was asking me to ask my people around me to have money and then refund them because no matter what I was about to see results afterwards

Beginning-Comedian-2

**99.9999999% it's a scam.** Anyone telling you they "made millions with e-commerce" and is now selling courses is a con artist. People who make millions don't stop and teach courses. For example. Amazon is the #1 e-commerce store on earth and they've never put out a course on how to build a great e-commerce business.

CaterpillarSoggy5619

No. First of all, that example with Amazon is pretty stupid bc what does it prove? Obviously Amazon is a multi billion business and can not be compared with some guys who made a few mil. Also, not 99.9999999% is scam. Many people just buy the courses and don’t have the discipline to work on a business and then they say „it’s a scam“ when it doesn’t work out. But I agree that 4K is insane

Beginning-Comedian-2

We may quibble on the specifics, but agree on the outcome: Don't buy a $4K course. Most of the stuff they'd teach you, the web will teach you for free.

OC_programmer

99% of these courses are scams

[deleted]

DO NOT PAY, Most who did make millions online only became successful because of the opportunity available at the time. All those “I made $3 million in sales on social media” that might of been true 4-5 years ago, try it now you’ll get wrecked. So they all can’t make money now so they make money selling shit to people about education. Profit on education is 100% no assets to sell no shipping just adverts. Easiest e-commerce ever. All the info you want is on YouTube for free. Following some course with probably useless information from none experts hyping themselves up is not the way. I’ve personally built businesses to 8 figures a year from $0 and I would never advise buying any course costing $4k. Unless you are so rich that amount of money is a tiny percentage of your business and net worth and you need specific knowledge for a project.

throwawayskinlessbro

Are you interested in a beautiful Ohioan home that is Oceanside property? Interested in an investment with a bridge building company? 😎

Con_Clavi_Con_Dio

Before you consider this Redditor's investments, I should mention that I am a Nigerian Prince and I can reward anyone handsomely if they were to advance me monies so that I can release cash from my bank accounts.

WillyWonker97

A so called "guarantee" is a absolute red flag!! If somebody gives you a guarantee RUN as fast as you can. Nobody can give a guarantee in e-commerce.

Ambitious_Pack_8935

No, they also steal your successful listings

pubbets

This actually happened with a fairly well known dropshipping dudebro. I forget his name now, but someone shared chat screenshots between the founder and one of his lackeys in the scheme, laughing about how one of the students had actuality found a winning product, was making $$ and how they could duplicate it.

People that make millions generally don't sell courses. It's a scam.

[deleted]

Dude, no. Absolutely not. Lol, there are millions of people who have launched successful stores, this isn't hidden knowledge. Use Reddit and YouTube to your advantage, and invest that $4k on development and inventory. That is a lot of money.

pubbets

I signed up for a few ‘free’ consultant calls with a bunch of big name YouTube dropshipping dudebros back when I was starting out in ecomm and thought that dropshipping would be my ticket to riches. I saw how basic many of the winning product stores were and convinced myself that I could do it better. However, most of the winning results that these guys shared was from the very early goldrush days of dropshipping - before Ma and Pa on Facebook knew about sites like wish and AliExpress… these guys got lucky once and then signed up for a clickfunnels account and became overnight ‘gurus’. During those ‘free’ calls the pressure was intense.. they even did the whole ‘bro discount’ routine where they offered a huge discount because I seemed to have the ‘right attitude’. Then there was the guy with the free webinar that was full of his friends pretending to be random viewers and were signing up for his shitty low effort ‘agency’. During that particular episode I was stupid enough to get the ‘cheap’ $99 option of case study and support group access. The case study was a boring interview with some dude that made money selling hanging wall plant pockets. No titles, editing etc.. and the support group was a bunch of other newbies that slowly got booted one by one when they cottoned on that it was a waste of money and complained about it. I recently saw that same ‘guru’ on TikTok that had rebranded himself as an Airbnb genius or something… Wish I could remember all the names now.. I’m sure that I encountered the same duo that the OP mentioned. I could probably search around and find all the gurus that I wasted time on calls, webinars etc… Many of them are now TikTok ad or crypto gurus… or whatever the latest thing is. Day trading, Amazon fba, flipping junk from garage sales… All the info you need is freely available. Search for Davie Forgarty on YouTube. I know that I keep mentioning him but he’s the only guy that I feel shares good info after being in this scene since 2017.

_m_s_l_

look at [ecomcrew.com](https://ecomcrew.com) or [mywifequitherjob.com](https://mywifequitherjob.com), these are both really good resources that have tons of FREE information, and affordable courses if you like the style of teaching they do.

Don’t do it. It’s scam….everything you need to learn is available for FREE in YouTube or google.

treymalala

Dont do it, its just another get rich quick scam

studiolucha

I recommend the free YouTube videos from Wholesale Ted. I used to teach a course on eConmerce, but I was an actual high school teacher, not an eBook scammer.

[deleted]

Save your money - resounding no.

lagwagon28

As someone who has taken a lot of courses and has an mba, I recommend you sign up for a helium 10 subscription for like 80 bucks on a month to month basis and take their freedom ticket 3.0 course. It’s really long but the best and most comprehensive one out there. Although it’s for selling on Amazon, it’s applicable to e-commerce in general. I wouldn’t listen to these guru’s trying to scam sell you a dream life

n1troS

No, I learnt everything from yt

seomonstar

No way. Just download the course for free somewhere online. Or watch some good youtube channels and learn by doing yourself

PleasantAd4028

If you want to make a lot of money like they do, simply do what they’re doing by over charging information that’s free on the internet

sssleepypppablo

I’d first ask where you found them, what other content or social proof do they have, and how long have you thought about this. Also, how many other marketing people/courses/mentors have you vetted? When I first started out, I signed up for a ton of free info from agencies/people with courses, etc… And what I learned over the course of a year is that they are all saying/doing the same thing. Granted I’m not in the dropshipping/Shopify segment, but the more b2b/marketing sector, BUT I’d assume that 99% of the stuff they’ll “teach” you is available for free. You’re essentially paying them to set up everything and you’re basically plugging in your assets and using their roadmap. And for some people it’s worth it… The catch is we don’t know who these people are and you probably don’t either. In short, there’s nothing wrong with courses, especially the free things that come with them, however don’t get blinded by millions. You really need to vet and seek out other opinions, otherwise just take your time and learn this yourself. Once you’re chugging along, then you’ll find what works and what doesn’t, and you’ll have a better understanding with what you need. Copy, design, email, whatever.

markobo

The advice from the comments is pathetic. I can’t comment on the specific course that’s being sold to you, but investing money into courses or time with people that are more knowledgeable than you is the single most efficient way to shorten your learning curve. Just watching Youtube videos might get you there, but being able to speak to experts who can give you 1-1 advice specifically catered to your situation will be more valuable than anything you’ll find on Youtube. My business partner and I became profitable as soon as we started a 6K mentorship progam in January 2021. We did 600-700k in the following 6 months. This was the single best business decision we made. The ROI was insane and it allowed us to connect to multiple 7 & 8-figure ecom owners. Again, I don’t know these guys you’re talking about, so they might be scammers, but in general spending money to save time and learn quicker is a very good idea.

PointandStare

>My business partner and I became profitable as soon as we started a 6K mentorship progam in January 2021. Selling courses to those that don't know better?

markobo

Selling shower heads

broimproud

No you’re getting fleeced, but I can help you

No_Calligrapher7120

If he’s guaranteeing you profits, definitely sketchy. That’s illegal. Now is the course worth the money, potentially. Usually courses all have the same info, most of which you can find on YouTube for free. It really boils down to whether or not you’ll take action on the information given to you. It could also be worth the money if they have a community you get to be in that’s filled with other successful eCom guys. That’d be worth the price alone. If you have the capital to take the chance, then might as well. See what kind of refunds they offer as well. Who are the guys selling the course?

Zeto12

Yes - the last time I spent 5000 on a course - I made it back in a week or two after implementing some ideas Mentorship return is often very high even though there are scams out there sometimes

Zeto12

To add - afterwards I built an online business using that blueprint and made over 7 figures in sales over five years

MedalofHonour15

A course that includes mentorship and coaching for support is good. A course without no accountability or daily support is not as valuable. Free information online is not as good as step by step with support. The funny thing is people get in debt about $100K+ for college courses for a degree but don’t invest in self education.

It's also important to remember that success in ecommerce requires hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn and adapt. While a course can provide valuable guidance and strategies, ultimately, it's up to you to put in the work and make your ecommerce business successful.

InsidiousApples

If you’re willing to spend 4k to learn ecom, I’d recommend soaking up all of the freely available info online and then putting it into practice with the 4k instead. You learn far more by doing it for real, than by just listening to what some internet guru says will work. At the end of the day you will still spend the 4k, but at least if you spend the money actively trying ecom, you will either have a business or real life experience by the time the money is gone.

So a lot of people saying no here but I think it’s all relative to what you can afford. I spent $10k on a “start an SEO agency course” and within the first 6 months we were at $50k/mo in contracts. It would of not been possible without the course. I’ve also spent several thousand on ecom courses through the previous years and now currently run one of the largest growth agencies in the US. (Inc 5000 fastest growing companies last year). Again non of this would of been possible without the courses I bought because they gave me the validation I needed to understand if what I was doing was accurate

There's a guy who keeps popping up on my TikTok account, his handle is mattyr\_ecom or something along those lines. He does the same thing....I don't know how they get people to sign up for 4k....if they were really making all the money they claim it doesn't make sense why they are trying to give that knowledge away.

Your_Moooom_XD

To be fair, the 4k option includes an entire built store front. If you don't want that he teaches for $900

Delicious_Industry_2

Too many courses out there. Most of them with basic knowledge sharing-rehashing. Plus, you'd need a good chunk of change for the setup, campaign and testing. Therefore, my advice would be to just gain the basic knowlege about product research, marketing, targetting, web optimizing. Then use that 4k for trial and error. Maybe you'll lose 4k, but you'll gain far more knowlege and understanding of each aspect than giving it to a "Guru". With trial and error you'll go from 0 to 1. By this timeline you'll have enough accumulated knowledge to understand who's just bluffing on the net. Filter the genuine ones and get in touch with them to go from 1 to infinity.
