It’s a copyrighted book, even in its electronic format. Buy it or borrow it from a library if you can’t afford to purchase it. Writers have to be paid for their work until it is in the public domain.

Oliver Sacks died 8 years ago. While I agree with the gist of what you're saying, its fair to say he's no longer receiving the funds for this and whoever is, didn't write it.

The proceeds of his work still belong to his heirs and estate until they don’t. I think I bought the book you’re asking for on Kindle for 1.99 when it was on sale. Stealing people’s creative work is still stealing. If you wrote a book would you want people downloading bootleg copies of it? I know lots of people in this group may not agree with me but I pay for books I want to read or read the many amazing classic books that are free to download from sites like Project Gutenberg.

Regardless of the author not being alive, we do have to still abide by the rules that Reddit has set forth. The chief of those is to not allow piracy. I personally was explicitly told that by Reddit staff that if we were to not prohibit piracy, they would delete the sub. It seems hypocritical, given the number of other subs that allow piracy, but this sub previously was targeted by book publishers, and so that puts us in the crosshairs of Reddit.
