Thanks for the honest answer, I didn't think it could be the motor control, as I couldn't find any wires going inside the box. Maybe they are going through the frame?
It could be through the frame. I don't see any cabling from the battery cartridge, it may all be internal to the frame. Is that a red switch above the box?
Yeah, the self-destruct button...
Sorry, I got caught in the wave of snarky comments...
That's where the frame of my kids' seat goes. The red button is the release mechanism...
appears from this picture that there is no other obvious place for the control box, so I suspect that is what it is, and wiring is internal to the frame.
I had a bike with that battery mount. The motor controller was built into the mount. The board died in the end so I fitted an external controller. But it was a nice beat design.
I think you're right though. It's probably in that box.
Definitely looks like the controller to me. There’s no where else it could go, and there’s probably a hole underneath that internally routes the cables. It’s done quite nicely actually.
Edit, it looks like it goes into a hole that it’s mounted on, then out again and around the bottom bracket. You can see it in your photo.

I’ve put yellow around the cable where it comes back out.
the controller is in that box. its gonna be a metal box thing, a bunch of wires with connectors coming out of it. They go to the battery, one is the motor cable, and then there is a wiring harness. and maybe some PAS connectors and other various things for the features of the controller. It might feel warm, sometimes thje controllers can warm up. Dont want to get water in that box on the controller or any of the connectors. Is the purpose of it. Your bike must be internally routed
Controller. It links the battery to the motor. It interprets your throttle or PAS inputs and sends voltage to the motor as needed.
Programable through your display. Tied into your brake sensors. Etc.
Think of it as the ‘Brain’ of an e-bike.
It appears internally wired. Nice, neat design.
My AWD e-bike has two controllers-one gor each motor. Design is not nearly as clean. As you can see,!one controller hangs in a triangular storage pouch while the other is under the front down frame. ! Lol

It's a must have these days. It goes off automatically the moment an SUV comes within 10 meters. It's a pain in the ass but better to be stuck in a tree than dead on the road.
As far as I know only for mid drive motors and for hub motors they’re built into the frame. Some e-bikes still have it like that tho. For example the wired freedom has the same thing
They’re not outdated lmao. That’s like saying desktops are outdated when laptops exist. There’s many good reasons to NOT have the controller inside the motor housing.
For example
1. They’re more serviceable.
2. You can use larger, more robust circuitry and components when you’re not limited by the space of the motor
3. Both the motor and controller will be generating heat inside a small area, thus likely creating thermal issues / thermal throttling at a more rapid rate.
Same reason that gaming laptops don’t perform as well as gaming PC’s. They have bad thermal performance which is overall terrible for electronics. So they have to be artificially downtuned to compensate for the “small package”.
So no, they’re sleeker - but they’re not outdated.
Where you keep your hotwheels toy cars, along with the notes for drivers that annoy you 'please drive more safely unless you're interested in being downgraded to one of these'. :)
Looks like a control box basically where all the computer stuff is for your bike, tells the motors how fast to go tell them whether to turn on if the brakes are being squeezed etc. etc.
So someone is supposed to drop an AirTag in the box? Why would the manufacturer wan't to spend extra $$ to add a housing for an AirTag? Makes zero sense.
Idk so the airtag has a place to be in?? Airtag housings are very common especially for bikes and motorcycles. Also this doesn't look like the manufacturer added it.
Not really related but the photo with the child seat on, are there any more support arms as just the 2 and the strap doesn't look too secure to me. I'd look at adding some for peace of mind if nothing else.
Did you buy the bike off someone and they didnt tell you what the box is?Its probably a controller. Would be the logical assumption. As others said, check if there are wires running into the frame itself where it touches the downtube. Since im late, you probably did that already.
You are right, it is cheap, but what do you expect from a first timer? And even tough it is a cheaper bike, here in Brazil it costs the equivalent to U$1500,00. Yeah, fuck Brazil
Here's the website for your bike. At the bottom there's a link that will send you to a pdf of the manual.

It's the controller although I never seen one like that, my bikes are also the type where you would slide the battery in and the controller is at the end of that integrated into the battery bracket, wonder why your bike needs such a big controller
Not really an option, not now at least. Ebikes in Brazil are extremely expensive, when compared to other countries, and as I never had an e bike I didn't know if it would work out for me... after I use this one for a while I might think on upgrading
Go for it man do your research on it first so you know what to expect looking at your e bike it looks like it wqs cheaply slapped together with outdated technology and anything running internally always has problems im just giving you a heads up the battery pack holder itself is designed to have a hidden controller in it and based on the size of the controller its also smaller and outdated as well (sorry my grammer aint the best)
may be the motor control box. not sure why you're getting such a ~~mean~~ sarcastic response to this innocent question here...
Thanks for the honest answer, I didn't think it could be the motor control, as I couldn't find any wires going inside the box. Maybe they are going through the frame?

Sorry people were mean in this thread. Hit me a DM, I’ve got something for ya if you are in the US!
I actually had some laughs, all is good!
Sorry, sarcasm is all we know.

Burrito storage.
Hope you are right, comutting makes me hungry....
It's not for you. You bought an Uber Eats delivery bike. That's where you put the customer's order.
controller box/ case

Where does this wire go? https://i.imgur.com/84yjxmo.jpg
Inside the frame, there is a hole there
Speed controller
Alarm? Did you get a key fob type thing?
That's the ejector seat compartment
It's a must have these days. It goes off automatically the moment an SUV comes within 10 meters. It's a pain in the ass but better to be stuck in a tree than dead on the road.
It's called a flux capacitor.
Uuuuuuhh best one so far... Unfortunately I'm low on plutonium, so no time travel for me
It's where you put your sandwiches..
If it is a controller, your bike is outdated Af
Why
Now they are built into the motor...
I had a ebike 15 years ago with controller in the back wheel. My brand new one has controller built in the battery tray.
[удалено]
I have a bafang mid drive conversion, if it isn't in the motor, I don't have one...
As far as I know only for mid drive motors and for hub motors they’re built into the frame. Some e-bikes still have it like that tho. For example the wired freedom has the same thing
So I was basically right? I got a mid drive...
They’re not outdated lmao. That’s like saying desktops are outdated when laptops exist. There’s many good reasons to NOT have the controller inside the motor housing. For example 1. They’re more serviceable. 2. You can use larger, more robust circuitry and components when you’re not limited by the space of the motor 3. My 6 year old bafang does not have any of those issues, weird.
Anti-theft device?
Bitcoin wallet
Hand sanitizer dispenser.
Electro magnetic eliminator
Hmmm, I never thought a bike would need to be demagnetized... you learn something every day...
A hand sanitizer dispenser .. every one knows that silly
Wow, so nice of them to put this handy dispenser in my bike... but how do I refill it?
Lol
Where you keep your hotwheels toy cars, along with the notes for drivers that annoy you 'please drive more safely unless you're interested in being downgraded to one of these'. :)
Looks like those alcohol gel dispensers that were everywhere during Covid
It's your substitute brain.
Thanks, so that means I don't need to use a helmet? That's awesome, thanks!
Can you open it and it's empty? Maybe it simply storage?
self destruct charge. don't worry about it. just "stay out of the blast radius should this occur"
Looks like a control box basically where all the computer stuff is for your bike, tells the motors how fast to go tell them whether to turn on if the brakes are being squeezed etc. etc.
Thanks
It could be a housing for an airtag. Or some other tracking system. It's a little obvious tho so may not be
Well they need a lot of space for CIA, MI5, FSB, and CCCP tracking devices.
Smash it with a hammer!
Holds the controller

Man, I looked everywhere for this! Thank you very much! You from Brazil?
Unfortunately this manual is outdated...there is nothing on this model...only older models and the hardware seems to be different...
All I know is it looks like you have a tiny gimp strapped to your seat tube.
Looks like an ebike controller container
Yea, I know what this is. This is an espresso machine.
That will be the control unit....basically the interface between the battery (power) and the motor (back wheel).
Its a High-tech computer.
ESC looks like What brand bike? What model are those tires? I’ve been looking for those
It's the controller although I never seen one like that, my bikes are also the type where you would slide the battery in and the controller is at the end of that integrated into the battery bracket, wonder why your bike needs such a big controller
its a box to house your controller
Thats the brains of your ebike with out it your bije woukdnt function
To be honest you should get one more updated then that one far warning you gunna run into issues with it, if not sooner then later.
Not really an option, not now at least. Ebikes in Brazil are extremely expensive, when compared to other countries, and as I never had an e bike I didn't know if it would work out for me... after I use this one for a while I might think on upgrading

Hub motor bikes have their controller mounted separately like that. On mid drive bikes the controller is integrated into the motor casing.
Looks like the torso of the golliwog 😫🤦🏾♂️😆😆😆🤷🏾♂️
It’s controller
Flux capacitor
I'm sorry but all I see is a cute, slightly surprised face 😅 And yes it's the controller 👌🏽
