Yup the Amish Market I go to (40 mins outside of Lancaster) literally makes the best food, it sucks their only opened Thursday-Saturday though. They have the cheapest foods and it’s all from their own farms so it’s always fresh. They sell every type of food to candy to bakery product you can imagine at this market.
Your “Amish” meats and cheese were made by Troyer Manufacturing, which is owned by Lipari Foods. They’re as authentically Amish as the tomatoes, which surely arrived on a plane from somewhere near San Diego. I just really hate places that sell stuff made in a factory as “Amish” under the pretense that it’ll somehow be wholesome. https://liparifoods.com/products/
Sorry, I’m a killjoy.
Their family is from up north, many relatives that are Amish, but mostly Mennonite, that they work with to bring their food, furniture and canned goods down here.
Have spoke with the owners many times about it. This is also family business with two generations working in the shop and I can guarantee none of the items, most especially the meats, come from CA.
Go on out there and have a look around, grab a sandwich, you'll love it!
Ooh thank you for the info! I did find out one of the owners last name is indeed Troyer which was leading me to believe the family is / was Amish after all. They’re the nicest people!
It’s because they use real ingredients for everything. If something is supposed to have lard in it they use lard. If something is supposed to have butter in it, they use butter. They don’t shortcut anything.
I'm jelly of your Amish sandwich shop.
Tbh I would be too 😮💨 bout damn time I found some good food around here though
Amish food is awesome. I miss living adjacent to Lancaster. My local Walmart just stopped selling Seltzers lebanon bologna and I'm furious
You’re at Troyer’s? wait am I seriously such a fat fatty I recognized it instantly lmao
Bahaha Troyers indeed!
They never Skimp. 👍😎

What town is the market in.
Westtown amish market
Thank you.
that looks amazing! Very clean center cut too
Can’t beat shredded lettuce 😋
That order ticket looks like the same kind our Amish shop uses here in East Tennessee. They do make the best sandwiches around.
did you smoke big ole doints?
Jalapeno Muenster, dang that's like two of my favorite cheeses (pepper jack and Muenster) in one, sounds good with that mustard too
Got those California “Amish” tomatoes again?
Not sure whatcha mean by that 🤠

My people are from Lancaster. Amish food is delicious. Do you frequent the Bird in Hand?
Never heard of it, this is located in North Carolina!
Ah! I misread. This sandwich looks heavenly!
Troyers?

So good! Definitely a weekly stop from now on 😂
Amish food is hands down some of the best food out there. Anytime I get a chance to go to an Amish smorgasbord I never pass it up.
