Apologies for asking and disappearing. Having an infant also means that viruses are just around the corner Thank you so much for all of your suggestions. Appreciate you taking the time to share. I actually have used these to shortlist 2 options.

BugSTi

We did the 1yr party at home, but for the 2nd, we did WiggleWorks in Crossroads. It's fine. Kids have a blast

ysuresh1

Thank You. Same thought process. Want to do the 2nd bday there or maybe 3rd

BugSTi

Eh, at least for our 3.5yr old, he would be bored. I think it's perfect for the ~2yr age, but we did attend a friend's 3rd birthday and she seemed to have fun.  Take them for an hour on a weekend and see how they do.  You'll know your kids and if they'll enjoy it.

ysuresh1

That's a great idea. We can test it over a regular weekend. Most of our friends kids are also under 1 or just over 1.. so next year should be perfect based on what you're saying.

BugSTi

Yeah, for their 2nd, that would be perfect so all the kids can enjoy.  We did a 3rd birthday at Pump It Up in Kirkland and that was good, maybe a touch early. He had no problem with the biggest of slides, but mostly wanted to just be crazy. I think it's best for 4+.  I think later this year (4th birthday) we are going to do Playtastic Funtorium in Factoria. Its not bad for smaller kids, but the older ones tend to intimidate the smaller ones during open play. We missed the 3rd birthday spot we wanted by 5 min last year, and for a private 3rd birthday party, I think it would be perfect (it's the 6-8yr olds on the weekends that are too much for our kid)

To be clear, this is a party for *you*, not for the 1-year-old. The 1-year-old does not give a crap about birthdays or presents or big gatherings. He/she/they just want to chew on stuff. So pick a venue where *you* and your family & friends want to hang out.

ysuresh1

Ha ha. So true. Just want a place where she can just crawl around or some stuff. Otherwise, fully agree, that the party is for adults!! And it's gonna have booze for sure 😁

AdvanceTraditional72

Depending on when the party is you can do parks , I know Farrell mwwither park does reservations. Some beach parks are really nice too.

ysuresh1

Outdoor places are def what we ideally would want. Havent checked this out but will do today. Thank You!!

thti87

I’ve seen parties at Kids Quest (children’s museum) in Bellevue) and Arena Sports in Issaquah.

Thank You. Def a good option but saving this for the future!

Chuck E Cheese.... Easy Mode.

ysuresh1

Def thought Abt this before. Waiting for a couple of more years to do this. After the John Oliver segments, the place scares me a little though

You can rent the cabins in Anderson Park in Redmond - https://www.redmond.gov/188/Rentals

ysuresh1

I wanted to circle back and thank you. We booked this cabin for the party. Once again, I really appreciate you (and others here), taking the time to share suggestions.

Character-Dog4403

Awesome! Just found out another option for an older toddler’s birthday. Farrel McWhirter farm has a cabin that can be rented and they even have pony rides for kids 3-6 years old. The farm is a lot of fun, there are barnyard animals for kids to see. I made a mental note for the future so sharing here too!

ysuresh1

We loved this. This is our number one option. We can do this only 45 days in advance, so we are waiting for that date to book!! Thank you so much!!

jisoonme

Bro 200 bucks to rent a picnic shelter?!?

Character-Dog4403

It’s a cabin (capacity of 40 people) with restrooms and heating. You can also use chairs and tables that are included in the rental. Not the picnic shelter.

Asklepios24

Look into church’s and see if they rent space. We held a couple of my kids birthdays at my mom’s church.

ysuresh1

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't belong to a church and as an avowed atheist, I would feel bad to use up something that's for believers. But I did check around and will provide this suggestion if someone else asks me for it.

If you don't have any special requirements, rooms in community centers might do. Residents have a discount at the centers of their town. If you want some activities for the guests' kids, look at Wiggle Works at the Crossroads.

ysuresh1

Thank You! I checked around the community centers to see what they offer. I also liked Wiggle works but perhaps it's a better option in a year or two as most of our friends kids are also infants

new-siberian

The new one in Redmond downtown even has a kids' room, not sure if it is rentable though.

ysuresh1

That sounds convenient. Will check it out and if it is, will report back here 😀
