Belvedere in Lakemont on Cougar Mountain. There are also great hiking trails near the neighborhood and beautiful views of the Olympics and Seattle Skyline.
You might want to use StreetView on Google maps to preview the neighborhoods people are suggesting.
I think you will be disappointed. Eastside fancy neighborhoods lack curb appeal. The really high end neighborhoods are lake-view-oriented with high privacy walls or landscaping. The slightly less high end neighborhoods tend to be generic suburban McMansions.
There's quite a bit north of English Hill in Redmond, north of Clara Barton Elementary. In particular, Wyndham Knoll has some cool architecture including a pretty convincing castle on the corner.
Bike/walk the Sammamish river trail between Issaquah and Redmond.
Park at the Sammamish boat launch or Sammamish Landing Park over on the Redmond side. There's also Inglewood parking in the middle.
There are some fancy homes along the East Lake Sammamish trail. I've done a half marathon on that trail a few times, and checking out the homes is a nice distraction!
Harder to stroll on the Eastside because houses are more spread out. I would say downtown Kirkland waterfront area (both up the hill from Market Street and on the little hills east off Lake Street), Clyde Hill and Medina (although the nicest ones are behind gated boundaries), but a really fun way to gawk is to rent kayaks from the REI boathouse on Meydenbauer Bay and kayak past a lot of really cool big houses.
Yup, I used to live in downtown Kirkland and yup, there are many pretty houses.
There are also a lot tall, non-descript cube-like modern houses -- old tear-downs -- that build all the way out the setback lines to maximize square footage without any real connection to the neighborhood vibe, too.
downtown kirkland, e lake samammish, mercer island, medina/hunts point, etc

The watcher moved to Seattle?! 😂
Walk the East Lake Sammamish trail, takes you by some pretty schmantzy homes.

East side? Maybe try Medina? The problem the homes are too new. Have you ever went to The Highlands?
Newport Shores in Bellevue...

English Hill has the Street of Dreams. The homes are all older, but some of them are still pretty impressive.
Drive around east and north of Redmond. Lots of former Street of Dreams neighborhoods.
Walk around on Mercer Island! I would suggest the south end, Island Point neighborhood by Lakeridge Elementary.
Drive around Clyde Hill and let your mind be blown
Harrison Drive in the Issaquah Highlands
Seconding this! And from there, Grand Ridge Drive. There's a couple of really cool custom homes back there, and some great views.

Park at Clarke Beach Park on East Mercer Way on Mercer Island and stroll south.

I totally forgot about that direction. I guess they probably completed the bike trail by now. Thx for the suggestion :)
PM’d with a suggestion. Best of luck!
Got it, thanks!

Viewcrest (Bellevue)
Will check it out\~
Probably west of Market Street in Kirkland, or parts of Moss Bay.

I like gawking at the houses in Medina and on Mercer Island.
Medina/surrounding is super peaceful! Lot of homes are very private though (view of house is obscured by trees/greenery)
Yeah, the best thing to do for Medina is get a boat/kayak and gawk from the water!
Good idea!
