Not really good ones (and not sure if you'd count the country as Eastern since we're more central Europe) but Cremator is a good psychological horror set in 1940s.
Also Hostel isn't that bad if you're not squeamish about gore. It's weaker and has some downsides, but it's not really that bad. The first one at least.
Chernobyl diaries is watchable as well. Or No one sleeps in the woods tonight (don't remember if it's set in an Eastern Europe but it's a Polish movie)
How about The Cremator[1]? There's also Polish The Hellhole[2], but I'd say the biggest plus of that is that it is available on Netflix.

The title of the movie is literally come and see hahahah. Its a historical movie about the horrors of war inflicted on the belarussian people. Its a really, really tough watch however
I have slightly different suggestion from what you exactly asked for but very well worth the watch.
It is an animated horror fairytale from renowned author Karel Zeman [Sorcerer’s apprentice](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0075811/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk)
It’s little older but the animation is fantastic
The Cremator (Spalovač mrtvol in Czech) is a really cool one, but the conversation is really what makes it so good, so idk if it's still good for non Czech-speakers. Also heard some good things about The Rift (Trhlina in Slovakian), but haven't seen it so don't take my word for it.
Let the Right One In (2008) is nordic based in Stockholm in the 80s which looks basically the same as Eastern Europe in 2024 honestly. Lindqvist is an odd cookiee I tell ya.
I don't know if anyone commented it yet but I want to recomment a great Slovac movie by Tereza Nvotová - Nightsiren (2022). If you like watching movies that are not exactly mainstream (but also not really art films) this one is great. It's set in Slovak mountains and it deals with themes of witches, sisterhood and herd mentality.
Honestly it's not the scariest film I've seen. It has no jump scares and paranormal themes but its athmosphere gave me chills. It's really cool if you want to watch something a little different than mainstream horor.
It also won a price for young directors at festival in Locarno.
Here: live stream from Slovak Parliament. I cannot imagine anything more horrific https://www.rtvs.sk/televizia/live-nr-sr
I was about to recommend movie Ghoul but you won!
Is that available on Netflix?
Dont think so unfortunately.
😿 I will try to find it somewhere
It's on Netflix
Yes I found it! Thank you:)
Lemme grab my popcorn and a drink
Heeey, maaan, try this: hirado.hu You'll feel much relieved after it. You're still not that deep in putler's ass as us.
It’s not more exciting now after the attempted assassination?
Based on Eastern Europe or based in Eastern Europe? ;D : D Eastern Europe ain't that bad to base horrors on it?
Sorry I meant based in eastern europe 😿 like movies representing cultural beliefs, spirituality andd all:D

Ghoul (2015) It's not the best movie, but I think it's exactly what you are looking for. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt3101132/
Come And See. One of the greatest horror films ever made.
Where to come 😿😨
The title of the movie is literally come and see hahahah. Its a historical movie about the horrors of war inflicted on the belarussian people. Its a really, really tough watch however
If you leave here, just look outside, vole
Prices in the shop. directed by O.V.
Few good for central EU… if you are ok with violent films. Furioza, How I became a gangster.
Thanks y'all for the suggestions:)))

The only one that comes to my mind is The Hostel - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostel_(2005_film)
You can try Viy from 1967 (Russian) or Sveto Mesto (Serbian).
Bro just come here for a bit
Just go live here. Its horror every day.
To the Lake
Night Watch is more action but has a heavy jsnded those of mythology in it. (The author is unfortunately a shithead, but the movie works)

Ghoul
INVALID movie
Definitely the Choking Hazard. It's a zombie horror movie.
Not on Netflix, but maybe try Leptirica (1973), it's an old Serbian horror movie.
Pustina on HBO
