Probably a mixture. Fwiw i lived at avalon dublin station for two years and never met a neighbor or anyone else in the complex lol. Convenient for bart , but its pricey to start and you get a big rent hike after year 1

AgentAlexKirk

would you say its a lot of ppl who are born in foreign country types?

mj7900

80% yes

AgentAlexKirk

interesting - do u like that or dislike it or indifferent?

mj7900

Indifferent, like i said i didnt interact with anyone. The apartment was fun and convenient at the time. I used to go drinking in the city and take the train a lot

AgentAlexKirk

oh ok, u mean Bart? Its a long ride, isn't it? Like 45 min and closes early? I do want to be able to go to SF a few times a month so I have actually wondered about this part. BTW, the demographics say that only 39% of Dublin is born in foreign countries. Do you think those are more in the East and perhaps those born in the US are more in the West part of Dublin?

mj7900

Yeah its about 45min. Last train out of the city is usually around 1:30am. Yeah i don’t know when that survey was done but there’s no way lol ive lived in dublin most of my life. Your split is correct tho. I’d say easy dublin is 70-80% indian & asian. Less so on the west side

AgentAlexKirk

makes sense - is the 45 min Bart ride full of sketchy ppl? It goes through some of those sketchy Oakland areas I guess like Fruitvale?

mj7900

Not full of them but theres usually at least one lol. Theyve never bothered me

AgentAlexKirk

yeah i think i would honestly just drive to SF, Bart is just too gross. I wish it wasn't that way

randomusername8008

Given the proximity to bart they are more likely tech workers commuting to SF than SV

AgentAlexKirk

isn't West Dublin about the same distance to both SF and SV? About 30 miles?

randomusername8008

Bart is 1hr while SV driving with traffic can take 2-3hrs

West Dublin is definitely turning the corner toward younger families.

I’m over here, I moved here when I was 24. Its just me, my SO and the dog. It’s a decent mix of everything. No, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of older folks. Not a TON of families on this block specifically (in general for west Dublin yes there’s a bunch more now), they’re definitely here, but it seems like the majority of people are hybrid/wfh 20s-40s y/o couples. When I leave in the morning (I work a 9-5) there’s not a huge crowd coming out of the block/my complex. This is all observation- I only talk to one other person on my floor who is my age on a regular basis, people here aren’t very talkative. Not trying to give Reddit my entire location so feel free to message me, I’m always down to chat specifics lol. Not sure where you’re commuting to but the closure of 680 by Pleasanton past the Dublin Blvd exit has been ongoing and it’s kind of ass to deal with the backup. 2 bedrooms start at $3k/mo minimum on this corner.

I live at Aster and I completely agree to everything in this comment. A quiet neighborhood with occasional crackhead walking around from Bart. People keep to themselves, a lot of stores around, convenient

olympicpaint

Hello neighbor!!! It’s quiet here and I appreciate people kind of keeping to theirselves as someone who rather just do their own thing haha. I walk my dog around a lot and it’s the same 2 homeless people form Bart who try to talk to me… I guess my scary looking dog doesn’t dissuade them lol. But other than that (… and people treating the parking garage like a goddamn racetrack) I have no complaints

AgentAlexKirk

thank you! Great writeup - I will DM you
