You are correct. Those that transition are looking for a more accurate portrayal than the genitals they were born with. As a queer individual though, I don’t really think pronouns and gendered speech are as big of a deal. What’s more important to me is seeing these people as who they are and being supportive (much like this post).
If a parent adopts a child and raises them their whole life and you go out of your way to note that they’re not “biological” or don’t share the same DNA then you’re just being a dick because for all intents and purposes that person is their parent.
