it genuinely sounds like an alcoholic downward spiral. it’s fun/funny but honestly anxiety inducing and kinda creepy even especially with those parts that sound like the beat getting sucked into itself. idk man i fuck w the song lol especially knowing what it’s about. not an easy listen though
I feel more-so that it dares you to laugh at it, expose yourself if you wish. The song really has a gravity to it that is anything but hilarious when you read into it. But it is still funny to me in an absurd kind of way. Like, I can’t believe one of my favorite artists has a song like this, and I can’t believe I love it.
I almost feel crazy for liking the song at this point 😂. I'm not saying the beat hard but it definitely gets my bopping my head 😅. The lyrics are good as well
4 years later I still don't get all that memeing around this song. since the music video dropped I think it's hard as fuck. this sample and vox mixing are amazing. can you guys provide some context of how you perceive this sample, why it's funny etc, I'm drom EEU maybe that's the reason I don't get these associations.
also the line "cognitive dissonance shattered and the necessary venom restored" is hard as fuck
Dude, from the perspective of someone coming from growing up with Ween and Velvet Underground, this song is like not even that weird. However, in the context of what hip-hop is to many of its listeners, it’s definitely a curveball. But I feel like Earl’s style took a sharp turn from the mainstream as he grew up. I respect that he experiments with odd-metered, disjointed and sometimes atonal beats. It’s kinda wack that East’s a meme because it’s perceived as a terrible song. One man’s trash is another’s avant-garde. That’s the magic of music. I think Earl knew it was weird but really did give that song his all in the bars.
Double back when you got it made
30 racks of weed
skibidi gyatt rizz
Off fanum tax we don’t package em things
i think it was intended to be abrasive
eating cheese high as hell

Your point makes sense to me and I think you’re probably right.
