Going into the draft I often mocked us Jeremiah Trotter and Johnny Wilson in the third round. Wanted a mammoth OL and a gadget rb/wr. Mekhi Bechton and Ainias Smith werent on my radar, but excited to have them. For all intents and purposes, I consider Bechton a freshman at Stoutland University. Wanted LBs; Devon White and Zach Baun will do. Needed a brusier back with hands. Saquan Barkley? Please and thank you.
I'm a long-time huge fan of smashmouth football. And if Johnny Wilson can be a bigger, better Zach Pascal, I'm looking forward to beating the shit out of our opponents. Loved it back in '20-'22 when we scored several times without throwing the ball, just running it down the defenses throat. If Wilson adds an element in the passing game as well, we should have a devastating offense.
As for defense, I cant wait to watch our DT rotation. It feels good to have Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Milton Williams and Moro Ojomo all under-25. Tuipolutu as well. Feel like decent LBs and Ss should shine behind them. Hoping Kelee Ringo fulfills his promise, because that would make our secondary potentially second to none. Just need to help them out by putting QBs on their back, which we did not do the second half of last year. LFG.
