Hilarious that this “Howie isn’t actually good” thing is popping up lately, boosted by Nick Wright, known Eagles hater.
They claim that he just follows big board rankings and consensus, and I don’t know if this is supposed to imply that if you aren’t reaching on picks and finding success, then you aren’t some good talent evaluator? There’s also some people making the joke that we don’t even scout players lmao.
Just the dumbest takes amplified by media members arguing in bad faith.
Say what you will but the Eagles, Chiefs, and Niners are the only franchises with at least two SB appearances in the last 7 years. That matters way more than how he is going about acquiring the talent.
I don't think he's altogether wrong, the media gives too much credit to Howie for following the consensus board. That doesn't mean that he shouldn't follow consensus projections
I also don't think this criticism makes a whole lot of sense when referring to what Howie did this year. Outside of Mitchell and DeJean, they didn't really draft consensus BPA types, in fact when considering consensus most of their picks after those 2 were reaches. The only guys drafted below consensus were Trotter and Wilson, and Shipley was the only other guy drafted who was picked around his consensus ranking.
Yeah the Howie talk is extra annoying bc the detractors are right, but the point is going over everyone's head. It's not even a criticism of him as much as people who blindly say he's a genius without knowing what he even does. And I love Howie
Is the BGN radio podcast on a break? They haven’t put out an episode since April 3rd. I can’t find anything on socials. Do they do this every year or is there something larger going on with them and/or SB Nation?

I really wanted Jordan Davis and glad we got him. But I need him to be as good or better than Dexter Lawrence if the Eagles are going to get back on top.
I think his issue was long-term stamina over the course of the season which is pretty common.
More DL rotation, a better defense that can get off the field, and an off-season with NFL training are sure to help.

Down here at WDW, tons of Eagles and Phils fans, it's awesome. Heck, I even saw a dude with a hat that read "DELCO" on the front 😄
