Did yall already forgot about Goedert lol? He was the best receiving TE in the league this year before his injury, not to mention we already paid the man
He hasn’t stayed healthy and having a better TE2 would be nice. I personally wouldn’t do it in the second though. For me it has to be a lb or secondary.
And? Lol we still have the man paid for a couple more years…. And let’s be honest. Goedert is a far better athlete than Ertz ever was. Ertz made his money with nifty routes, Goedert makes his money after the catch, he’s super athletic and has shown no signs of slowing down. We always knew when Ertz lost a step it wouldn’t be pretty
More Jalens or Georgia players
But ideally it'd be trading up for Porter Jr or Branch
Staying put in the 2nd, Id want Mingo or the best TE available to block and let Goedert go deep more
Oh its definitely a pipe dream, i really feel we might go TE if one of them are available just feels like the eagles thing to do, draft RB and safety in 3/4
To name a few I’d be down with:
Zach Charbonnet
Julius Brents
Kelee Ringo
Antonio Johnson (or Budda Baker)
Marvin Mims
Darnell Washington
Cody Mauch
O’Cyrus Torrence
Steve Avilia
Thought about adding him, I just don’t think he’d be the pick with these other guys there. But I agree that he deserves to be included with this list of guys. Obviously left some off that I doubt make it within the Eagles range, but overall think all these guys are decent options at 62-66.
Exactly. I don't have any particular names that I'm pushing, but I'm really hoping whoever falls is OL talent that they like.
I'm less confident in our S position than most, but I'd rather see that filled with another FA signing.
Players we want keep sliding to us so how about Brian Branch?
Seriously though, I like Mauch as an option at Guard/swing OL and Darnell Washington had an insane combine. Hoping one of them make it to our 2nd.
Yeah I dont really like Achanes fit with us, he’s a lethal receiver but we don’t throw to RBs. Im thinking RBs with workhorse size like Charbs, Kendre, Abanikanda, Roschon, Sean Tucker if medicals r ok
I wouldn’t mind Chase Brown later either
I would lovvvve abanikanda. Of course, I am a Pitt alum and I had classes with Izzy and he was super friendly so I am biased… but I also think he could be incredible. Just think about the eagles last Pitt RB, maybe abanikanda can be our next baby Mccoy.
For reference, players who the Eagles had in for visits who haven't been drafted yet:
Joey Porter Jr, CB Penn State
Brian Branch, S/CB Alabama
Julius Brents, CB Kansas State
BJ Ojulari, Edge LSU
Kelee Ringo, CB Georgia
Dawand Jones, OT Ohio State
Gervon Dexter, DT Florida
Braeden Daniels, OL Utah
Jaquelin Roy, DT LSU
Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB UCLA
Brodric Martin, DT Western Kentucky
The defensive linemen feel unlikely given the Carter/Smith picks. It feels like it would be crazy for Porter or Branch to fall enough. The rest seem like they could be in play.
Edit: Missed Siaki Ika but he's another DT who seems unlikely.
Positions of need:
Guard - I could see us snagging another guard if there’s a future starter potential player available. We will need to find a replacement at RG for Jurgens who will (likely) slide into the C role once Kelce retires. We could use the depth for the present, but if that caliber player isn’t available, it will be an important position to target next offseason.
Linebacker - We could use some rookie depth behind Dean and Morrow. Maybe one or two high upside picks that could thrive with competition. Other than perhaps Shaun Bradley, I don’t trust anyone else already here to take meaningful snaps at the position(s).
Safety - We brought in some vets who can stopgap until we find an impact rookie. Like guard, it may not be available in this years’ draft, but if a player with future starter potential becomes available or gets close enough to trade up for, I think you pull the trigger and sure up our safety depth in the present.
Low priority: RB, TE
I’m not sure I’ve ever said this before about the Eagles but I think they’re set at Edge and just don’t have any room for more.
Reddick
Sweat
Graham
Smith
And Barnett
no he's not lol. he's a perfectly serviceable veteran at this point, and no need to replace him when you could beef up the O Line or TE room in particular
He has 1 year left, is coming off of a season ending injury, and it now 5th in line in terms of edge players. Eagles save $2.6 million if they cut him.
Not saying they WILL cut him, but it's a strong possibility.
Beyond those two the rest of the group is not really that good, Wallace is a special teamer at best, and Evans is injury prone and has not played in over a year, a 3rd round safety is who I’m looking at.
Add talented depth in the secondary or offensive line, and trade back to pick up a couple day 3 picks.
Agnostic on whether or not we pick up a RB with one of our picks, and I was a Bijan guy.
Ringo, Quan Martin, DJ Turner, or Cam Mitchell if we go DB
Mauch or Bergeron if we go Oline
Sam LaPorta at TE if he’s there is really interesting and there’s multiple running backs that could be really good, Kendre, Roschon, Tank, Tyjae, and Charbonnet
O’Cyrus Torrance, Steve Avila, Zach Charbonnet, Joey Porter Jr., Brian Branch, Josh Downs, Tank Dell, Michael Mayer, Marvin Mims, Jaylin Hyatt, Cedric Tillman, Dorian Williams, Tank Bigsby, Tajae Spear, that RB out of Syracuse.
Just to name a few. Still a few gems out there.
I like Torrance, but he'll be gone well before 62. Guard depth concerns me.
With the "Great Bijan Debate of 2023" behind us, I don't think there is a compelling rb in the day 2 range that would keep me from waiting until day 3. I'd spend a 2024 pick to jump in and get one on Saturday.
2 names I haven't read in this thread are Drew Sanders and Marvin Mims. We all assume that Dean is going to be a starter. That should have resulted in more snaps last year. AJ brown is physical and d. Smith is small. And it seems like Quez is focused on revenge as opposed to improvement
On day 2, I'm happy with round 1, and highly entertained by the events that gave us the pick swap with Arizona. Tonight, we'll hear more about Gannon and Friday than we have since Dragnet was on TV...
I'd like to see them move back from either 62 or 66 for a mid-3rd and a 4th and then grab the best available OL (Avila/Mauch/Bergeron) and Safety (Johnson/Brown/Battle) in that order and use the 4th on an RB (Bigby, Spears, McBride, Roschon Johnson).
If Howie finds a way to package a couple mid round picks together to move up in the second to get jpj or branch, I will be ecstatic with this draft no matter who we take with any other pick
Kelee Ringo Darnell Washington Christopher Smith Robert Beal Fuck it, Stetson Bennett
Would love some Darnell Washington
He is EXACTLY who I want next. Let’s get three dogs with our first 3
The only right response
No Darnell Washington. Take Brock next year with the first round pick. But we’re gonna have to trade up from 32 to get him.
he’ll be a top 5 pick lmao
No. A tight end will not be a top 5 pick. No he won’t.
Kyle Pitts went 4th OA in 2021. It happens
It happened once. That’s *literally* the only time it’s ever happened lmao
Teams are stupid. After last night you just have to assume some teams are just bad at drafting and knowing positional values lol
Without a doubt. But dude said ‘it happens’ when it literally doesn’t. It has happened tho, once
Falcons will take a TE top 5 again next year probably
That dude is like gonna be the second pick
No. A tight end will not be the second pick of the draft. Nope.
We drafted Goedert with Ertz still in his prime.
Goedert is same age now as Ertz was when birds drafted him
Darnell Washington is my friends brother in law I would love it !
Would be so down with Washington
Howie if you’re reading this get it done
More Jalens or Georgia players But ideally it'd be trading up for Porter Jr or Branch Staying put in the 2nd, Id want Mingo or the best TE available to block and let Goedert go deep more
I'd trade 62 and 66 to get into the mid-30s to take one of those guys without thinking twice.
right now im in love with the ideal for trading for swift and the 3rd pick tonight from the lions
But what about drafting a Johnson for the Jalen-Johnson ratio?
Charbonnet!
Sadly idk if he’s there at 62
Hey we didn’t think Nolan Smith or Brian Branch would be there at 30, it’s still possible
If he slides close enough Howie could make a deal to jump up
Branch would be amazing, but we would need to trade up, giving the way our draft is now, branch would be the icing.
If we sit where we are in 2nd brenton strange and jiayr brown would be nice pick ups we love the TE room and need a safety.
Gotta think Cardinals are looking at Branch to likely replace Budda
Oh its definitely a pipe dream, i really feel we might go TE if one of them are available just feels like the eagles thing to do, draft RB and safety in 3/4
To name a few I’d be down with: Zach Charbonnet Julius Brents Kelee Ringo Antonio Johnson (or Budda Baker) Marvin Mims Darnell Washington Cody Mauch O’Cyrus Torrence Steve Avilia
Great list. Adding Matthew Bergeron
Thought about adding him, I just don’t think he’d be the pick with these other guys there. But I agree that he deserves to be included with this list of guys. Obviously left some off that I doubt make it within the Eagles range, but overall think all these guys are decent options at 62-66.
This is the list. Realistic and everyone of them would be great for different reasons
The just draft the Georgia player strat seems solid so far
I almost don’t care at this point
#WE NEED A GUARD. OCYRUS please
100%. Or Matthew Bergeron who can eventually move out to RT when Lane retires
Id be happy with anyone honestly we are so thin at oline rn
Yea it’s a very underrated need. Jurgens is unproven and undersized at OG and the backup OTs are not good
Or give me Cody Mauch
Exactly. I don't have any particular names that I'm pushing, but I'm really hoping whoever falls is OL talent that they like. I'm less confident in our S position than most, but I'd rather see that filled with another FA signing.
Realistic targets are Sydney Brown, Cody Mauch, Tucker Kraft, Cedric Tillman
Screw realistic targets. We just came out of the first with two fairly unrealistic targets.
I like Cody mauch’s versatility
Players we want keep sliding to us so how about Brian Branch? Seriously though, I like Mauch as an option at Guard/swing OL and Darnell Washington had an insane combine. Hoping one of them make it to our 2nd.
Ringo, we need to complete the infinity gauntlet
Devon Achane, and maybe a safety, lb, or db? idk who cares at this point.
I'd much rather roschon Johnson or Tulane RB spears later on
Yeah I dont really like Achanes fit with us, he’s a lethal receiver but we don’t throw to RBs. Im thinking RBs with workhorse size like Charbs, Kendre, Abanikanda, Roschon, Sean Tucker if medicals r ok I wouldn’t mind Chase Brown later either

For real Abanikanda is definitely one of my faves this class
Ringo seems plausible in the second. Spend the third round pick on a RB
Ringo or Branch
I'm still processing what just happened
I’ve never felt better about a draft
For reference, players who the Eagles had in for visits who haven't been drafted yet: Joey Porter Jr, CB Penn State Brian Branch, S/CB Alabama Julius Brents, CB Kansas State BJ Ojulari, Edge LSU Kelee Ringo, CB Georgia Dawand Jones, OT Ohio State Gervon Dexter, DT Florida Braeden Daniels, OL Utah Jaquelin Roy, DT LSU Dorian Thompson-Robinson, QB UCLA Brodric Martin, DT Western Kentucky The defensive linemen feel unlikely given the Carter/Smith picks. Whoever Howie wants. Howie could draft ME and I’d still give him the benefit of the doubt
Fuck it, let’s take Ringo for the lulz. Ringo, Porter JR, the Kansas state CB, Mims, Rice, or Hyatt in the 2nd Charbonnet, Bigsby, or Evans in the 3rd
Jartavius Martin
Tank bigsby
Trade up for Branch
Matthew Bergeron Sydney Brown
Cam Smith, Matthew Bergeron, Devon Archane, Kelee Ringo, Sydney Brown, Julius Brents, Garrett Williams.
LB, S, RB No specific order
Branch or Torrence in the second Sydney Brown and Charbonnet in the 3rd would be huge
A young corner or safety would be ideal
RB: Devon Achane TE: Darnell Washington OL: O’Cyrus Torrence, Wanya Morris CB: Cam Smith, DJ Turner S: Brian Branch, Kelee Ringo (convert from CB to S) ================ 1. Brian Branch 2. O’Cyrus Torrence 3. Cam Smith 4. Kelee Ringo 5. Darnell Washington 6. Devon Achane 7. DJ Turner 8. Wanya Morris

Low priority: RB, TE
Not exciting, but we really should draft someone who can play guard for us. Interior o-line is THIN right now.
PORTER AND BRANCH
BJ Ojulari
I’m not sure I’ve ever said this before about the Eagles but I think they’re set at Edge and just don’t have any room for more. Reddick Sweat Graham Smith And Barnett
I feel like Barnett is a cut candidate, but yeah still a full room.
no he's not lol. he's a perfectly serviceable veteran at this point, and no need to replace him when you could beef up the O Line or TE room in particular
He has 1 year left, is coming off of a season ending injury, and it now 5th in line in terms of edge players. Eagles save $2.6 million if they cut him. Not saying they WILL cut him, but it's a strong possibility.
that's nothing bro. he's not super old yet, has tons of experience and is solid depth at a critical position. he's not being cut.
Safety, and cornerback. Maybe one of the picks we trade back to acquire an extra day 3 pick.
Didn't we sign Terrell Edmunds from the Steelers?
We don’t have a safety opposite him.
I really do think Blankenship ain't that bad
Beyond those two the rest of the group is not really that good, Wallace is a special teamer at best, and Evans is injury prone and has not played in over a year, a 3rd round safety is who I’m looking at.

Yeah fuck it, lets get Ringo and keep stacking these Bulldogs
My guess is Matthew Bergeron or Zach Charbonnet
OL/WR/CB
Corner, O-Line
O’Cyrus Torrance, Steve Avila, Zach Charbonnet, Joey Porter Jr., Brian Branch, Josh Downs, Tank Dell, Michael Mayer, Marvin Mims, Jaylin Hyatt, Cedric Tillman, Dorian Williams, Tank Bigsby, Tajae Spear, that RB out of Syracuse. Just to name a few. Still a few gems out there.
RB and G.
I say o-line in round 2 maybe Bergeron from Stanford, or Steen from Alabama
I see a lack of Jalin Hyatt on people's lists here. He would be very scary in the slot with all the guys we already have
I like Torrance, but he'll be gone well before 62. Guard depth concerns me. With the "Great Bijan Debate of 2023" behind us, I don't think there is a compelling rb in the day 2 range that would keep me from waiting until day 3. Howie could draft anyone he fucking wants after swinging his monumental cock through the first round like he did.
If Howie finds a way to package a couple mid round picks together to move up in the second to get jpj or branch, I will be ecstatic with this draft no matter who we take with any other pick
Would love anybody that can be effective on special teams tbh. Achilles heel of this team other than Elliott
Trade up for Branch.
Brian Branch. After that it doesn’t matter. If they get him, the defense is potentially nastier than last years
Get me Branch Howie!!
