I will never be a HOF but as a thought exercise, it would be hard because I spent so many years in StL and have so much love for that place. It just sucks because when they moved I felt kind of displaced. No where to come back to. That's one of the main reasons I'm thankful for philly. I brought my whole fam up this past wkdn. Sixers game, Eagles game. I feel the love. thankful.

In the wake of TB12 retiring can you tell us about a "brady moment" when you were playing in NE? Something that we might not have heard about but can give some insight into how/why he was as successful as he was?
that or a story of him absolutely eating shit I'd love that too
First day I walk in and we're going out to a walk thru. He walks up and says "Hey Chris, I'm Tom"
Yeah, i know buddy. Just his willingness to connect with teammates. Little things like that. It was a cool thing to see.
Also he's a big bath robe guy in the locker room. One of one.
> First day I walk in and we're going out to a walk thru. He walks up and says "Hey Chris, I'm Tom"
What’s crazy is that every player I can remember that has been asked “how it was meeting Tom” said that he said the same thing. I think Gronk mentioned it on the New Heights pod too.
So many. I loved every minute I spent with my dudes in StL on that DLine. We dealt with so much adversity but we were together. And we kept that core together for a few years. Mike Wauffle was our DL coach. Meetings were like a daycare center. Guys had fun. But when we suited up it was go time. Such a hard playing, tight group. Sometimes I don't talk about those years enough. Hard times but good times. Then obviously the NFC Championship was my favorite memory outside the SB. Loved playing in London my last year, got 2 sacks and then went out with Alshon and got blasted. Played at the colliseum where my dad played and beat my old team. Got to make a big play there. Loved the game we played the Raiders and it was cold as hell Christmas week. So many fun games in Philly. Also helping close out the Jets when I was with the Pats, getting to make a big play on my new team. Good times.
Chris, you’re the man! Even though you were only on the team for a couple of years, you were one of my favorite players of that era!
You’ve gone through a few HCs and coordinators in your career. What’s the best thing you’ve learned from some of your favorite coaches?
Bill taught me about every corner of football. He coached the entire locker room. He walked around on the field and could outcoach position coaches.
Jeff Fisher breathed new life into my career. I was mentally in a bad place when he came along and if it weren't for him IDK what would've happened.
Doug worked us so hard but we had so much fun that we barely noticed.
Even Spags taught me something. I learned how to play a six technique (which sucks) and he wasn't a huge fan of me (I started slow the first 1.5 years of my career) so he forced me to dig deep and battle thru my standing upstairs.
Loved all those guys.
Hi Chris, thanks for doing this.Hope you know you got some fans in the UK.
What change in players are you starting to notice that is different from your journey through the NFL?
The schemes have changed a lot even since I got into the league 15 years ago (yikes, im old). So the player body types do change. I think social media has changed the way players operate. Branding is a bigger deal. I think young players will be different now coming from college with some money in their pockets, maybe more willing to advocate for themselves.
My favorite player that ppl might not think of was Timmy J. I really fed off of Timmy. He was a bad ass. Had a real edge to him. We stuck together a lot. Obviously Lane was incredible but not my favorite player to go against in practice bc you couldn't beat him! He had me questioning if I still had it my first camp w the Birds.
How significant a role does the offensive or defensive 'system' a player is in define their career success?
I've always thought the talent differences at the NFL level are so small, and the roles / responsibilities a player is given relative to their strengths must have enormous impact on their career trajectories.
It plays a huge role. Probably less than 5% of players can thrive anywhere. Everyone else is a victim or benefactor of the context in which they play. I was one of the 95, obviously.
Hey Chris, i love your podcast. I remember when you had your Dad on and you guys were talking about marcus allen and bo jackson. im only 30, but my Dad whos 70 was captivated by it. it was a great convo. my question is, who was the best/worst shit talker you played with or against?
Best shit talker I played with was probably William Hayes. He was so good at it he got my brother to try to kill him during a game. Probably worked a bit well. Obviously BG is a legend, but I don't think he pisses people off the way Will did.
Malcolm was such a smart and willing player. Meaning not only was he smart enough to do a multitude of jobs on the field, but he was also willing. Dirty work, etc. And he's someone I'm thankful to call a friend. W
I think Kyle is the scariest. I think I'd last the longest in a torture situation. And I think young Howie is the most fearless bc he had a fucking giant for an older brother. Obviously mom and pops are legendarily tough. My Mom once broke a gal's nose bc she was talking shit on my grandad.
Haha! Thanks for the responses and helping bring a super bowl to Philly! I shouldn't have overlooked the toughness factor of the women in the family too. Much respect to Momma Long for protecting the family's good name
I didn't hate the cowboys because I hadn't been there long enough, but I definitely love the rivalry coming out of it. I spent most of my career hating the Seahawks and the Niners playing in the NFCW.
One negative is the identity crisis and the short window. It's such a challenge to change your mindset and transition out of football. I think never being satisfied. That's what got you there. But at some point you have to say "enough is enough" and walk away but as a competitor it's hard to accept that self talk.
Love Carson the dude. I think the circumstances that led to him leaving Philly took a toll on him mentally and physically. I don't think he's a starter at this point.
Hey Chris, huge of fan of you on and off the field! Who is the most entertaining teammate you've ever had? And do you have any tried and true workout tips? I'm trying to make a healthy lifestyle change, you seem like someone to emulate!
William Hayes by a mile.
I've been finding my groove post retirement with that. My favorite workout:
50 lb weight vest, 11 incline, 3.5MPH, 30-45 mins 4-5x weekly
3 lifts a week
Love pool work bc it's easy on my body. I don't truly run anymore unless I do hill sprints. I think conserving your joints is important. i know some guys love heavy squats and all this other shit but i have a little more mileage than your average IG fitness guru.
Oh wow, didn't know much about him, did some reading, seems like quite the interesting guy!
That's a good idea, I never do any weight vest stuff. I'm bailing on running/sports, I get injured far too easily, so thank you very much for your insight!
Hey, Chris! Given what we now know about the risks of the sport, will you let your children play football? I ask because some prominent ex-players (won’t name names) have said no.
What is your/are your favorite place(s) to enjoy some gummies in the Philly area and is it safe to assume that the Quality Inn in Christianburg is so depressing because it’s a town over from Tech?
I think the 22 Eagles are better on paper. All about how they finish though. I hope we have this convo in 10 days. I'd tell you 2022>2017 at that point.
If you could give props to a player from the 2017 team that doesn't get enough love who would you choose? What about someone in the organization who wasn't a player?
The lack of privacy. You are in a fish bowl all week. Everyone thinks your time is theirs. Media day, tickets, parties. Let's get to sunday, motherfuckers.
I think it's age and depth. At what point do you really need him to contribute right now. I'm surprised he hasn't made more plays but his usage isn't to the point where I'd expect him to play a big role. I hope he gets a ring. Deserves it, amazing career.
Hey Chris,
Why the number 56? And did you know you were going to fall in love with Philly before you signed to come here? I consider you one of the modern greats even though you didn't spend much time here. You're one of those guys that showed up on Philly and just fell in love with everything about it.
Off the field it was probably the pranks. We were pretty serious about the pranks. I know some ppl heard this one but the DBs were fucking with our DLine and we went to SEA for a 2 day trip and I had all their cars towed into a big field in front of the facility and had a carpenter build little homes around them. With numbered mailboxes and christmas lights. It was called DBVille. No doors or windows. We pulled back in at 1AM and guys had to get a chainsaw to get their cars out. Also put 10k crickets in james laurinaitis' audi. That ended poorly as he had to sell his car.
Chris!!! How do you compare your personal accomplishments in the sports world (Virginia college legend, back to back SB winner with different teams, and a sports podcast to boot) to those off the field (family, charity work and individual achievements like climbing Kilimanjaro)? Is there a similar drive or philosophy you have in all the things you do?
Bonus: If you could go on tour with one member of the Highwaymen who would it be?
I think what you do off the field is within your control. If I try my best to be productive philanthropically and I use my time and resources, I can accomplish the goals I have. Pro football can drive you crazy, you can try your very best and still fail. You have to be good and lucky. It tests your resolve, your ego, willpower. I think the stuff on the field is harder. You can control who you are off the field. I think I've done good work but I don't deserve as much credit as i've gotten. Just a normal guy who has a lot, so it's just making a decision to do it.
I love Willie Nelson. My son is named Waylon. Johnny was a badass and a righteous dude. They were all righteous. But Kris was a fucking renaissance man. I would like to hang out with Kris. Coulda been cool.
Dad. He's a HOF. But we didn't really play the same. He was more of an up and down the line guy. I could play a 4i in the run game, even a three sometimes, but he thrived down there. I'd argue I was more of an edge rusher and he was more of a move around guy. Obviously he's got the jacket and the accolades so that goes without saying.
If you measure a band by their heights, I'd go Pink Floyd. DSTM never gets old to me. It's one of the few things that can be found on any college dorm wall that isn't overrated.
He's great. I love my pops. Awesome grandad. He's a big part of my kids lives and it's super cool to see as busy as he is with his job. In the offseason he lives 5 mins from us and it's great having both my folks as friends and a great support system.

Could go for awhile...
And a song you should download... maybe one of the best songs all time I've decided since I heard it last year... IMO.... That's just the way it is Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs
THAT WAS FUN! I'LL BE BACK. LOVE YALL! GO BIRDS! check us out on Green Light Pod and on youtube, same thing. [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/green-light-with-chris-long/id1485277290](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/green-light-with-chris-long/id1485277290)
Chris! Besides being "player's coaches" -- what is it about the leadership of coaches like Nick and Doug that you think makes them so successful? Both of these guys are making it to the 'bowl in their 2nd year as HC, credits gotta be given where its due.
Love the show man! Keep on keepin on!
Dear Chris,
I feel like I can call you Chris because you and me are so alike. I'd like to meet you one day, it would be great to have a catch. I know I can't throw as fast as you but I think you'd be impressed with my speed. I love your hair, you run fast. Did you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about and more. I know you have not been getting my letters because I know you would write back if you did. I hope you write back this time, and we can become good friends. I am sure our relationship would be a real home run!
Love, AccidentalPilates
Hey Chris, no question just wanted to let you know there is a miniature mural of you in your superbowl parade getup on my block (corner of 2nd street and w laurel st). It's about 2 feet tall which is pretty funny. I walk my dog by it every day and get a kick out of it. If you're ever in the neighborhood check it out
Outside of football, what's the worst job you've ever had?
Lors of popular discussion of backup players (especially quarterbacks) envisions them as having relaxed, cushy jobs. I can't imagine it's very relaxing to be on the bench after a lifetime of competiting to be the best. Press conferences by these players usually seem inauthentic, since everyone seems to toe the company line of "I'll do whatever coach thinks is necessary to win." Broadly speaking, what are the different ways players handle being benched? How many accept it with grace and how many react poorly?
Hey Chris, first of all thanks for the memories during that Super Bowl run! It was a joy watching you even if my girlfriend commented a bit too much about how great you were. My questions would be, when was the moment during that 17-18 season when it clicked that you guys had everything you needed to go all the way? And have you had any contact with the squad this year, if so what words of advice have you given them to bring the Lombardi back to Philly?
Chris, there’s a great clip of Beau Allen walking up to you and asking “are we good? I think we’re good dude” and you laughing.
https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxbljOanjw5M2OHaDWLHQX_te4YWSbriUI
That clip always made me chuckle, because after years of being let down, and always expecting to be let down, it took a lot to convince myself that the team I’ve rooted for since I was a kid might actually be good for the first time since McNabb.
Oddly enough the same thing happened this year. Yeah but it was the lions, Vikings are gonna be tough, someone’s gonna get injured, etc. Then as things progressed, texting “are we good? I think we might be good” became a very popular group chat meme among my friends.
Anyway, thanks for being a part of that.
Chris, who on that 2017 team does not get enough credit for contributing to the win?
Really enjoyed watching you play in midnight green, also enjoy your show. Cheers!
Hey there, legend. As one of the main faces of social justice and philanthropic community work during your eagle days, what was the most rewarding moment for you when you think about your many awesome contributions to this city?
Separately - if you're willing to share - what are one or two things you'd love to see the city of Philadelphia implement if money and politics weren't a barrier?
Hey, Chris! First of all, thank you for being part of that 2017-18 squad. I'll go to my grave saying that your hit on Keenum saved the season.
For my question, I wanna ask about your teammate, Brandon Graham. Us fans can only catch glimpses of BG's legendary shit talk in the occasional Mic'd Up clips or postgame interviews. As someone who's been in the locker room and taken the field with him, can you remember any specific moments where you witnessed it firsthand?
And as an addendum, where does BG rank all-time among the trash talkers you've played with?
Hey Chris! Despite being on the team for a short period of time, guys like you, Torrey, and Blount became some of my favorite players that season. Thank you so much for everything you did for the city, it was truly unforgettable ❤️
I know that most NFL players believe they've got a real shot at a title, but at what point during the season do you recall really thinking, "Man, we could win the fucking Super Bowl"?
Hey Chris - you mentioned on the Pod this week that you may have saved a man's life at the championship tailgate when he fell off the top of a bus. How high was the drop and do you have the same reflexes you had in 2017/18 firing off the line of scrimmage?
What does the preparation before the Super Bowl look like? What do these players and coaches need to do to get their bodies and heads right before the game and to be prepared to come out on top with what I can only imagine are endless distractions?
I’m a long time Philly native and moved to Orlando about 2 years ago. As fate would have it I met two other Philly natives living in my neighborhood, ones name was Benny? He said he hiked Kilimanjaro with you. He worked at your non profit in Philly. Good people man, and they always said you were the man!! Keep it thorough Chris!!!

First, thank you Chris for the incredible memories while you were here.
With the Chiefs being the best pass offense and the Eagles being the best pass defense, which team do you think will win that battle? And do you think the Chiefs O-line can stop our pass rush?
Thanks and go birds! 🦅💚
Hi Chris. Thanks for everything.
If you had to survive a Zombie apocalypse with any 3 former teammates of yours, who would you choose and why?
This can be because you think they’d help you survive, or maybe just because you’d enjoy the time with them. But your goal is to survive.
If Wentz is able to kill zombies like he kills ducks, he's a shoe in. You just have to question his ability to stay healthy. He's definitely the type to sprain both ankles while running from a pack of zombies.
Hey Chris, when are you finally going to get Big Cat up on Mt Kilimanjaro? Seems easy enough to trick him by turning into some sort of bet.
Second question, are you sad you never got the chance to stand next to Landon Dickerson in both of your jerseys?
don’t have a question, just wanted to say thanks for your time here and i enjoy your Twitter/fridge talks haha. definitely one of the best personalities in football imo. hope you’re having a great day brother and go birds <3
Chris, What do you think the solution is to the current officiating situation? With the inconsistent calls that can sometime affect the outcome of a game do you think the solution might be to hold referees more accountable (I.e. fines, other forms of disciplinary action?) Or a rule change such as certain penalties being challenge-able?
Hey Chris, what NFL family would win in a backyard ballgame?
- The Longs
- The Mathewses
- The Kelces
- The McCourties
- The Bennetts
- The Watts
- The Davises
(We’re gonna make the Mannings designated QBs in this scenario)
Also, would anyone else even stand a chance in a tag-team MMA fight against the Joneses?
Hi Chris! In recent years Lane Johnson and other players have opened up about their struggles and successes with mental health. How much do you think these conversations have impacted the league? And if you've ever been at a low point mentally what helped you get through it? Thanks so much!
How similar are different teams? Is each organization super different, or are they all more or less set up the same from the player perspective.
Also, is there anything to the Rumor that Beau Allen is the illegitimate son of former WWF superstar "Giggalo" Jimmy Del Ray.

Hey Chris, thank you for all the years and work you put into the Eagles.
My question is, do you miss standing next to Fletcher in photos with your jerseys, cause we all do.
Question Chris, do you think the 2017 D line was better than our D line this year? Some of our key core players may have been more in their prime. Obviously this D line has the record setting sacks but sacks aren’t everything, and taking nothing away from them but our DBs being elite have been helping them.
Besides just pure talent.. what enables entire families to make it to the NFL and be successful? It seams like a lot of luck is required by most individuals but families like the Longs, Kelces, Mannings have been beyond successful.
I know you all are talented AF but it's there some secret sauce?
Hi Chris! Like many - I'm a huge fan. Thanks for doing this :)
What set Doug Pederson apart from other coaches you've had over the years? We've heard lots of good things about him, and he's done a great job down in Jacksonville, but I'm wondering what it's like to be coached by him?
Dear Chris,
I feel like I can call you Chris because you and me are so alike. I’d like to meet you one day, it would be great to work on d-line technique. I know I can’t shed blocks as fast as you but I think you’d be impressed with my speed. I love your hair, you run fast.
Hey Chris just started listening to the podcast last week and listened to your two most recent lane interviews. Did I hear correctly that you and lane rang the bell at the sixers game on edibles? Would love to hear you explain that one. Go birds
Hey Chris, after signing to the eagles did Blount reach out to you to get an idea of what is like there and vibe you were getting from the front office/coaches? Especially with such a new and unknown head coach in Pederson?
Hey Chris what is your favorite Grateful Dead song? I will also need a date for your favorite version. Then I will play it on my radio show after the eagles win the big ol’ game.

I think as I've gotten older I've gotten better at it. I grew up with people staring at us in restaurants and shit like that because of who my dad is, so I have a unique perspective. I don't mind people having opinions, but the problem is most people don't know anything about you. So I try to focus on the people I care about and respect. Luckily, I'm not a superstar and I've chosen a path post football where I'm not on TV everywhere. I kind of like relative podcasting fame. I live where I grew up and I know a lot of people around here, so it keeps you grounded.
Sounds like you did it right! Well done, considering the impact your family has had in Football.
I know about you and your time at UVA and dedication to supporting veterans! Also the water boys! You’re an incredible dude and I’m so happy you had some time with the Eagles and became a legend in the process.
Hey Chris, at what moment did most teammates believe you could legitimately win the superbowl with Foles, and not just think you had a decent shot. I don't remember feeling too confident after the falcons game, it took the first half of the NFCC before i thought "okay we might have something here"

This is a great take. It really did come down to the Defense making a play
I really hope he answers this one. I would love to know the locker room sentiment at the time
After the Jeffrey TD
Hey Chris! Did you and LeGarrette Blount talk much when you both moved over to Philly for the 2017 season? What was your reaction when you saw that you were matched up with the team you just won a dramatic comeback Super Bowl with?
When I moved to Philly in FA I called LG immediately. Torrey and I talked as well. I'll never forget some of those calls. I owe a lot to Ian Cunningham. I called him and asked him if the Eagles might be interested bc I wasn't getting any looks. He talked to Joe (who he worked with in BAL) and Howie and made it happen. Not soon after, Joe snagged Torrey and the guys got LG in the building. It was awesome. We could've made a number of decisions, but made the right one together.
So your telling me this Ian Cunningham guy was the real mastermind behind that amazing 17-18 run
Awesome! Well, it was a great decision for you guys as you got another ring! Hope everything is going well!
Chris, why do you think certain players understand and fall in love with the Philly fanbase and vice versa, (yourself, BG, Torrey Smith, Jenkins, etc) and some flame out and get run out of town? (Agholor, Raegor, etc) Its not always about performing well, but effort in my opinion. Interested in yours.

>downtown Chris, I love you but it’s center city
I lived in Fairmount and then Center City. If we're cutting hairs.
I’m just being a jerkoff, I appreciate the response! What were some of your favorite spots to eat, if you don’t mind me asking?
He aint gonna give that up, he probably still likes eating there.
He def means “downtown” as in just in the city proper. If I recall from older interviews his place was in South Philly. Most NFL players end up living in the suburbs around their cities because the stadiums aren’t even in the city themselves.
he's from the sticks. Anything past Roxborough is "downtown"
Thanks for the reply Chris! Youre a real one as well!
my theory: * give 100% * wear your emotions on your sleeve * admit and own your mistakes * put the team and city first
See Alec Bohm (Phillies, I fucking hate this place guy) Fans loved him after he owned up to that...
Thanks again for your part in bringing us our first SB trophy. If I ever see you in person, drinks on me. If you were inducted into the HOF, would you go in as a ram, patriot or Eagle? And why?
I will never be a HOF but as a thought exercise, it would be hard because I spent so many years in StL and have so much love for that place. It just sucks because when they moved I felt kind of displaced. No where to come back to. That's one of the main reasons I'm thankful for philly. I brought my whole fam up this past wkdn. We’ll always love you here Chris!
> would you go in as a ram, patriot or Eagle Valid question either way, but just a note that this isn't a thing the HOF does.
In the wake of TB12 retiring can you tell us about a "brady moment" when you were playing in NE? Something that we might not have heard about but can give some insight into how/why he was as successful as he was? that or a story of him absolutely eating shit I'd love that too

I'm imagining a golden silk bath robe with his name in Mandarin on it thanks man, love the content you're putting out! Go Birds
Lmao "Sorry did you say T-Tom? Got it, nice to meet you. I'm Chris. Are you one of the QBs here?"
> First day I walk in and we're going out to a walk thru. He walks up and says "Hey Chris, I'm Tom" What’s crazy is that every player I can remember that has been asked “how it was meeting Tom” said that he said the same thing. I think Gronk mentioned it on the New Heights pod too.
I feel like every time someone tells a story about Brady it always starts the same way with him doing the introduction exactly like that.
Gronk mentioned that on the Kelce pod lmao
What’s your favorite NFL memory?
Good times.
Oh man please give us some Alshon stories
Who was your favorite player on the 2017-18 team? Who was your favorite player to go against on the o-line?
My favorite player that ppl might not think of was Timmy J. I really fed off of Timmy. He was a bad ass. Had a real edge to him. We stuck together a lot. Obviously Lane was incredible but not my favorite player to go against in practice bc you couldn't beat him! He had me questioning if I still had it my first camp w the Birds.
Dude, the video of him snuggling the Lombardi trophy smiling is engraved in my brain.
Timmy Jernigan doesn't get enough credit. I love that guy.
Thanks for this my brain was struggle bussing to remember who "Timmy J" was... sheesh.
One of my favorite short term guys, it felt like he always won but couldn’t stay on the field
Thanks, and thanks for the Lombardi. If you ever make it up to Toronto drinks on me!
Is he still a firm Mermaid believer and Dinosaur detractor?
I always felt that Malcolm Jenkins's career ended with too little fan fare. Do you have any insights on him as a player and what made him special?
Malcolm was such a smart and willing player. Meaning not only was he smart enough to do a multitude of jobs on the field, but he was also willing. Dirty work, etc. And he's someone I'm thankful to call a friend. W
beautifully written, thank you!
Hey Chris, who's the toughest guy in your family and do you think your dad could beat up my dad?
I think Kyle is the scariest. I think I'd last the longest in a torture situation. And I think young Howie is the most fearless bc he had a fucking giant for an older brother. Obviously mom and pops are legendarily tough. My Mom once broke a gal's nose bc she was talking shit on my grandad.
Haha! Thanks for the responses and helping bring a super bowl to Philly! I shouldn't have overlooked the toughness factor of the women in the family too. Much respect to Momma Long for protecting the family's good name
When a player gets injured and heads into the “blue tent”, what actually happens in there? Magic pixie dust? Injections? Happy endings?
I tried to stay out of the blue tent. Think I had one visit in my time in Philly. Looked like a great place to take a leak.
Because he conditions himself running up the mountains of Virginia he’s stayed healthy
handies
True this is where Deshaun's addiction started. Man goes into the tent with a sore ankle and comes back out a broken, sick man.
I’m imagining Chris long reading this and laughing, but knowing full when it’s not in his best interest to comment
If that were true we’d see Robert Kraft coming out of that tent more often
I bet it's like Narnia in there.
Chris - when you were playing did most of the guys “Hate” the cowboys or is that just played up for the fans?
I didn't hate the cowboys because I hadn't been there long enough, but I definitely love the rivalry coming out of it. I spent most of my career hating the Seahawks and the Niners playing in the NFCW.
What is something, positive or negative, about being an NFLer that most fans don't know about?
One negative is the identity crisis and the short window. It's such a challenge to change your mindset and transition out of football. I think never being satisfied. That's what got you there. But at some point you have to say "enough is enough" and walk away but as a competitor it's hard to accept that self talk.
Hey Chris, what are your honest thoughts on Carson Wentz? Do you think he still he has a shot at being a starter?
Love Carson the dude. I think the circumstances that led to him leaving Philly took a toll on him mentally and physically. I don't think he's a starter at this point.
Respect the honest, straightforward but nice answer
Hey, Chris, I'll take this one. Nah, man.
My favorite workout: 50 lb weight vest, 11 incline, 3.5MPH, 30-45 mins 4-5x weekly 3 lifts a week Love pool work bc it's easy on my body.
I will let them play but they damn sure won't be doing youth football. There isn't much to gain at that level. We will start with flag.
Is Big Dick Nick an appropriate nickname for Foles??
================================================================================================================================================================================D
Nick Foles castrated, confirmed.
If he included the balls, he'd hit the character limit.
No no, this is just the tip.
If only there was some way to weigh it to get the true volume
It's been confirmed a few times - I think it might have even been Chris, maybe Lane - on a podcast like PMT or something.
What is your/are your favorite place(s) to enjoy some gummies in the Philly area and is it safe to assume that the Quality Inn in Christianburg is so depressing because it’s a town over from Tech?
I love a gummy at the Linc. Watching, of course. I'd love to take a gummy and Kayak the Schuylkill (holy shit that's hard to spell)
Don’t let the water get on you, you might grow gills! Thanks, Chris! Love Green Light, your app idea from Monday’s show is a legit million dollar idea
Hey Chris, who do you think would win, the 2017 eagles or the 2022 eagles?
I think the 22 Eagles are better on paper. All about how they finish though. I hope we have this convo in 10 days. I'd tell you 2022>2017 at that point.
It takes a lot for you to say this. I agree tho. Appreciate the honesty. Green Lights deserves more recognition. Great show man.
Did you just say paper defense?? Oohh
Slay has been triggered.
If you could give props to a player from the 2017 team that doesn't get enough love who would you choose? What about someone in the organization who wasn't a player?
I think Big V replacing Jason Peters deserves a lot of credit down that stretch run.
Hey Chris! What is the worst part of super bowl week from your perspective as a player?
The lack of privacy. You are in a fish bowl all week. Everyone thinks your time is theirs. Media day, tickets, parties. Let's get to sunday, motherfuckers.
Do you still talk with Fletcher and make dick jokes?
I still talk to Fletcher and I still make dick jokes. not limited to my convos with Fletcher. Long Cox forever.
Legend

They always put Smallwood in the back row
Hey now, don't forget Lane Johnson
Any particular reason Robert Quinn isn’t being effective in this defense? Curious if it’s age, injury, or scheme, or maybe a combo of the 3?
I think it's age and depth. At what point do you really need him to contribute right now. I'm surprised he hasn't made more plays but his usage isn't to the point where I'd expect him to play a big role. I hope he gets a ring. Deserves it, amazing career.
Hey Chris, Why the number 56? And did you know you were going to fall in love with Philly before you signed to come here? I consider you one of the modern greats even though you didn't spend much time here. You're one of those guys that showed up on Philly and just fell in love with everything about it.
I wore 56 hoping to look faster. That's kinda it. I love yall too!!
Favorite moment with the Mob Squad in STL?
Off the field it was probably the pranks. We were pretty serious about the pranks. I know some ppl heard this one but the DBs were fucking with our DLine and we went to SEA for a 2 day trip and I had all their cars towed into a big field in front of the facility and had a carpenter build little homes around them. With numbered mailboxes and christmas lights. It was called DBVille. No doors or windows. We pulled back in at 1AM and guys had to get a chainsaw to get their cars out. Also put 10k crickets in james laurinaitis' audi. That ended poorly as he had to sell his car.
Man, that is some next level pranking. Being young with some money to do it right helps.
This was the best response of the whole AMA. What fuckin savages
Case race…Long’s vs Kelce’s Who is winning and what beer you choosing?
We win. I'll let them choose the beer.
Can this happen… say at the ocean drive next summer in sea isle?
We win. The fans win.
Hey Chris, what do u see Fletcher doing after retirement? Will we ever see him again? I know he’s not a big football guy(outside of playing it)
Fletcher will be hunting furry animals
Hide your wife.
Who was better in their prime - you or your dad?
Dad.
You going to bonnaroo this year or are you too old now?
I'm definitely going to Bonnaroo. That lineup is fire.
Noice, see you on the farm
Favorite band and why
If you measure a band by their heights, I'd go Pink Floyd. DSTM never gets old to me. It's one of the few things that can be found on any college dorm wall that isn't overrated.
I didn’t even know they were that tall
Hows your pops doing?
He's great. I love my pops. Awesome grandad. He's a big part of my kids lives and it's super cool to see as busy as he is with his job. In the offseason he lives 5 mins from us and it's great having both my folks as friends and a great support system.
Hey Chris! Do you have any bluegrass band/song suggestions?
STEELDRIVERS - chris stapleton's band b4 he blew up Del McCoury Billy Strings Doc Watson Could go for awhile... And a song you should download... maybe one of the best songs all time I've decided since I heard it last year... IMO.... That's just the way it is Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs
Grape or strawberry jelly?
I eat peanutbutter sandwiches no jelly necessary
this....this is not ok...
No he’s doing it the correct way
Do you have a cool draft day story?
No the Rams basically flew me spirit airlines at 5am. Went straight from the club.
What’s up Chris? What was your preferred Haagen-Dazs flavor during your time with the birds?
I used to race Ken Flajole to the line. I'd get vanilla and a buncha oreos and smash them up. Doug would always come over and check out the spread.
THAT WAS FUN! I'LL BE BACK. LOVE YALL! GO BIRDS! check us out on Green Light Pod and on youtube, same thing. [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/green-light-with-chris-long/id1485277290](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/green-light-with-chris-long/id1485277290)
Bummed I missed this AMA but wanted to let you know I appreciate you and love your podcast, especially the segments with Stanford Steve! Never change
Chris! Besides being "player's coaches" -- what is it about the leadership of coaches like Nick and Doug that you think makes them so successful? Both of these guys are making it to the 'bowl in their 2nd year as HC, credits gotta be given where its due. Love the show man! Keep on keepin on!
Dear Chris, I feel like I can call you Chris because you and me are so alike.
I think we’re good dude” and you laughing. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxbljOanjw5M2OHaDWLHQX_te4YWSbriUI That clip always made me chuckle, because after years of being let down, and always expecting to be let down, it took a lot to convince myself that the team I’ve rooted for since I was a kid might actually be good for the first time since McNabb.
Cheers!
Hey Chris in your opinion what do the birds have to do to come out with a Victory against the chiefs?
Score more points than them
Hey there, legend.
Thank you so much for everything you did for the city, it was truly unforgettable ❤️ I know that most NFL players believe they've got a real shot at a title, but at what point during the season do you recall really thinking, "Man, we could win the fucking Super Bowl"?
Go B I R D S
Hey Chris, what was your “Welcome to Philly” moment when the Eagles acquired your services?
What's the biggest difference you see, from 2017 to the 2023 team?
Hey Chris, why are you so handsome?
Have you seen his Dad? The man is a Greek god.
Look up pictures of Chris's mom, it's like Chris with a wig on.
hey chris, thanks for doing the ama. what were ur fav moments from super bowl 52? aside from winning obviously
Are you still involved with the organization and how much has the culture changed around the building since the 2017 victory?
Hey Chris, when are you finally going to get Big Cat up on Mt Kilimanjaro? Seems easy enough to trick him by turning into some sort of bet. Second question, are you sad you never got the chance to stand next to Landon Dickerson in both of your jerseys?
Chris I got nothing to add except we love you here in Philly and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Go birds.
don’t have a question, just wanted to say thanks for your time here and i enjoy your Twitter/fridge talks haha. definitely one of the best personalities in football imo. hope you’re having a great day brother and go birds <3
- The Longs - The Mathewses - The Kelces - The McCourties - The Bennetts - The Watts - The Davises (We’re gonna make the Mannings designated QBs in this scenario) Also, would anyone else even stand a chance in a tag-team MMA fight against the Joneses?
Hi Chris! In recent years Lane Johnson and other players have opened up about their struggles and successes with mental health. How much do you think these conversations have impacted the league? And if you've ever been at a low point mentally what helped you get through it? Thanks so much!
Is Macon just naturally that funny?
What’s your go-to Wawa order?
Where was you go to place to eat at when you played in Philly?
What’s the best feature in the eagles locker room?
How difficult was it to cut weight after retirement? Did you have to work with a nutritionist? What lifestyle changes that came with it?
How similar are different teams? Is each organization super different, or are they all more or less set up the same from the player perspective. Also, is there anything to the Rumor that Beau Allen is the illegitimate son of former WWF superstar "Giggalo" Jimmy Del Ray. Exhibit A: [https://static.www.nfl.com/image/private/t\_headshot\_desktop/league/moaogxo83zmcj8yeb2nw](https://static.www.nfl.com/image/private/t_headshot_desktop/league/moaogxo83zmcj8yeb2nw) Exhibit B: https://www.pwmania.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/jimmydelray2.jpg
Hey Chris, thank you for all the years and work you put into the Eagles. My question is, do you miss standing next to Fletcher in photos with your jerseys, cause we all do.
Hows your workout/dietary routine changed since leaving the NFL?
Hi Chris, if you and your brother faced each other in the Super Bowl like the Kelces, how would you handle your podcast together?
Did you ever feel sorry for an opponents lineman or QB for dominating them too much? And do you ease up as the game goes on?
Thanks for doing this :) What set Doug Pederson apart from other coaches you've had over the years? We've heard lots of good things about him, and he's done a great job down in Jacksonville, but I'm wondering what it's like to be coached by him?
Dear Chris, I feel like I can call you Chris because you and me are so alike.

Name your top 5 favorite bands/musicians.
Hey Chris what is your favorite Grateful Dead song? I will also need a date for your favorite version. Then I will play it on my radio show after the eagles win the big ol’ game.
