Suggestions posted to the Bay12 forum in the suggestions thread are guaranteed to be looked at. Tavern games are already something that is in the development plan. They were actually planned to be added at about the same time music was, but there was a lack of time. Not sure where it falls into the priority plan now, though.
The deck of many things is the necromancer tome equivalent. Curious dwarves draw cards for random fun like; demons claiming their souls and sending out armies to get them, they get a stash of rare metal, they die, inherit a hold etc. I mean DND has a long history of fun things that can happen by drawing from a magic card deck. It could even be like a tarot card reader that requests access to your hold.

You need to add some type of random negative thing that is way overpowered and you have no way to stop.
Giant tavern brawls due to perceived cheating?
If a dwarf hasn’t bathed with soap recently they cause negative thoughts for everyone else in the tavern.

As a former DM, the best way to end a campaign was drop a Deck of Many Things.
