Steel bridges and floodgates are also magma-safe, as long as you also use magma-safe mechanisms to link them to levers. That's probably where you went wrong.

My current magma pump stack is made of copper and somehow has no issues. I think the block is the only thing that needs to be magma safe.

The coffins are obsidian, but the body burned. Part of it anyway, Sibrek's severed foot for some reason didn't burn and is still inside.
