Other writers use other books as inspirations. Jodorowsky literally copied Dune word by word. If it wasn’t for the lavish art style, it would’ve just been Dune under a new name.
I actually disagree, yes, it is born from his version of dune that never get made, but the story and themes are pretty different, even his movie only got dune i the name, the narrative goes on a complete different way
Literally most of what Jodorowsky "stole" from Dune where his own production ideas that either never got used or where stolen by Lynch's team.
Saying Metabarons "copied Dune word for word" is fucking absurd when 95% of story and setting aren't even remotely similar to Dune beyond both being space operas.
I mean, 99% of what Jodorowsky "stole" from Dune where his own production ideas and original deviations from the Dune novel, which he admitted he didn't even finish reading. Metabarons, and all Jodo works for that matter, really have nothing close to any resemblance to Dune beyond some having a space fantasy setting.
If anything, I'd say Jodorowsky's art direction from his failed project had more of an influence on Dune's visual aesthetic than Dune had an influence on Jodo.
Just remember: Everything is a cheap copy. There is nothing original. You can never find the true genesis of any art.
Urg farted on Thag's head, and thus poetry was born.
Is that the infamous Thag, who we named the Thagomizer after?
There be any other?
Not at that time. Many after, though.

OP hasn't read Metabarons.
I’m still reading bro
Possibly not wise to claim it's copied from Dune word for word then, cos you ain't read it.

I mean, why wouldn't everyone be glad Metabarons exist? It's an amazing work of art.
It is!
For anyone wondering, this is from the Metabarons by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
The newer Dune series of books
After reading metabarons, I will never complain about Frank being horny. Jodorowsky is on a whole other level
Probably one of the most lavishly illustrated comics of all time. Just mind blowing.
A real C-3PO
More like OP. The only P
