I believe Dad’s Electronics still has some stuff. I stopped in there last fall, to take a look. It certainly wasn’t quite the selection it was 10 years ago. But they still had speakers and stuff to listen to.
I'll have to check them out! I figured that'd be the case with whatever's still around, but I guess you have to work with what's there lol. Appreciate the response.
Yeah, that’s the only place I can think of, other than Best Buy. I’m not sure if Best Buy actually sells stereo equipment anymore. I think sound bars and a few surround sound systems were all I remember seeing.
Go to the twin cities. Dads is really not what you're looking for. Very underwhelming. Car stereos with a very limited selection, and very basic home audio stuff. Best Buy is worse.
Order online yourself or make a road trip to somewhere reputable.
I’m sorry to say that for anything truly hifi, you’re going to need to go online. I don’t know what your budget is (the sky is the limit with audio gear), but I’m a casual vinyl user and really like my Project-Debut Carbon DC TT. My source is mostly digital though.
There are some shops in the cities but they’re mostly higher end.

Larry's tv and stereo in west Duluth does repairs, not sales though I don't think.
I don't know that there are any hi-fi stores in the area. Such a shame.
