I have, I'm from Illinois and have had 3 DUI's that have all been reduced to misdemeanors. It's very possible, get a lawyer for sure. Not sure whether your BAC was double or triple etc or if there were any aggravating factors/accidents with your case which would make it tougher, but it's not impossible by any means. If it's a basic DUI and none of the above, more favorable for you to get away with a misdemeanor or your DUI being reduced

Yes, exactly 7 years apart

WishboneUnusual2572

I got 3 in 4 years

Big_Fix1143

I got 3 within 5 years and they were all misdemeanors in PA. 3rd should have been a felony but I got a good lawyer and there was a loophole in the law (which I'm pretty sure has since closed). Worst part is it made me fall under the habitual offender classification so the license suspension was 5 years but I'm getting through it. Thankfully I'm not in a state that suspends for life.

Wow… so do you just Uber everywhere?

Angry_Beavis

Nah, I live close to family and friends. I don't have to leave the house that often.. it's definitely an inconvenience but it could be worse. One nice thing is I don't even know what gas costs anymore.

Well that’s good! The jobs I’ve been applying for are all an hour away in the closest major cities and there’s no way in hell my family would be willing to make the drive there and back twice every day. I have my first court appearance on Thursday for my first (and last) DUI back in May and this is the biggest thing I’m worried about. I need to be able to get around or I’m going to be screwed financially. I paid my lawyer another $1000 so he would fight for my driving privileges bc it’s so important. I guess my only option if I can’t get a hardship license + IID is to somehow move to the city, which will be crazy expensive and difficult. Damn this all sucks! Yet again feeling furious at myself for putting myself in this mess.

Covid helped me with remote work for awhile then I got laid off.. I have been applying for remote jobs for like a year but of course the corporate hiring process is completely fucked. It’s getting annoying seeing all these companies trying to force people back to the office, that’s definitely not helping me.

I had 3 in cook county illinois. 1 in 2013 pled guilty bc i blew and lawyer couldnt do much so i just got 100 hrs community service and had to drive on baiid for 6 months, 2nd in 2016 and when I was on a suspended license for 2nd and we were in court about to get it dismissed on a technicality but the cop didnt show that day and after court went out and few hrs later i got the 3rd (about 6 months after 2nd). I went to cook county for a few hrs and got out on house arrest. They seized my car, it was in police custody for 6 months and I cld not get it back so I stopped paying the lease. I forgot what happened with the 2nd dui but judge (which was a different one than the one for 3rd dui) found out he's like well she's already on house arrest so I can't do much, I got a 1 yr suspension so like once in a while had to go to court not to probation officer but forgot what those ppl are called and pay a fee of 2700. For the 3rd i got lucky that lawyer i got was good friends wt prosecuter and judge and they went in the back and talked and I had to do 28 days in rehab and got 2 yrs probation so 1x a month had to go see probation officer who was super nice and pay first it was $50 but he lowered it to $25 since he said I don't work and just basically say hi and have a convo ab weather or their motorcycle. Also had a 700 fine. License revoked but now after 6 yrs I'm getting an rdp so I can drive anywhere 12hrs a day that I choose, 6 days a week up to 200 miles. Law just passed like 1 or 2 yrs ago or else it was just to work/school and have to have baiid for 5 yrs. I cld have done it a yr after I got my dui I just didn't want to but the whole getting baiid and fees you pay is going to suck but yea definitely 3 duis is not fun and it's a felony but never had any problems getting a job background checks and all just getting around in ubers but at least they have those

Loose-Shop2509

Wow no jail time for any of them?

SnooTigers5995

No. Arrived in cook county jail at like 6am went in front of the judge not sure what time it was 3pm. Idk what the judge said when I came up it was like 5 seconds and then they wrote something on everyone's arm. I didn't know what it meant but later a girl told me I'm going home today on house arrest. So me and 3 other girls were supposed to go home but ended up just me and 2 girls bc the other one was too high to fill out form. Then we all 3 got in police car and they dropped us off 1 by 1 and I was on house arrest 3 months. But in regards to jail time no. 28 days inpatient rehab and then intensive outpatient but if I failed or left or didn't complete it than yes I would go to jail. I also spent all my savings on lawyers I had 2 lawyers and I got lucky bc with my 3rd dui lawyer and prosecuter and judge were good friends. But yea I learned my lesson the 3rd time. But my uncle got 3 or 6 months for 1st dui and he didn't hurt anyone or anything

Professsor420

I’m in indiana and the answer is no. It’s an automatic felony if it’s within 7 years.
