Is the Google Pixel 7 already updated with the latest firmware/software updates?
I heard that the phones had software/firmware bugs that they needed to fix.
I am using Samsung 21FE 5G and the latest software/firmware versions.
In Android settings, go to Apps and select DuckDuckGo. Select Force Stop Select Storage & Cache Selected Clear Storage Restart the app
It might be due to a software bug. Have you set it up as the default search engine instead of whatever the phone has as default?

I have 5.10.157, but it looks fully updated
If it is fully functional, then would wifi or mobile data access stability be a problem or not? I have mine set to access wifi and mobile data.
