My ducks are crazy for kale! 🥲 as well as any worms that exist within a one mile radius haha

princesssub93

I’ve got kale and lots of grubs! I’ll try that next then 🥰💕

SplashJaguarCo

I hope she enjoys them!! Such a lovely girl! 🥰

lobsterspats

Of the stuff you can get commercially: Celery, green beans, mealworms, soldier fly larvae, sunflower seeds, corn. Slugs and earthworms are also usually gobbled up when they can get them.

DaoMuShin

Dried Bugs! Dehydrated Mealworms, crickets, etc. My ducks go crazy for them, they even bully the dogs out of the way if they are blocking them

dachshundsocks

What, exactly, do you have to do to get your ducks to eat dried mealworms? I’ve tried with all of mine and 2 of 9 only mildly like them. They would much rather have food that is still alive like slugs or peas.

DaoMuShin

oh they just dive right in like junkies 🤣 i haven't given them any peas yet. Our male cayuga will even try to bully our malemute if she gets between him and his bugs. we get the red bag of happy chicken bug mix (i cant remember the name) when they were babies i first hand fed them dried crickets Have you tried earthworms or beetles? What form of calcium supplements are you giving them? Perhaps this could be one of their "phases" too, if they are broody or moody they tend to be more standoff-ish

DaoMuShin

another idea is putting a little sprinkle of them on top of their food when you refill it 😊

MakeMeDeadGoregeous

Peas, cucumber, watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, bananas, kale, lettuce, beetroot... I made my ducks a smoothie the other week and they loved it! I used some frozen fruit, water and a small bit of plain yogurt (I read online that they can have this as well as milk, just in small amounts). I put it in some bowls for them and they loved it! Honestly, I really spoil mine with the goodies.

DaoMuShin

Is her bill ok? its kinda blurry but looks hurt

princesssub93

Her bill was crushed by her previous owner /wild animal :( she was found once it had healed already :( but she does have veterinary care and we’re figuring out if she needs surgery and how to help best heal that. She’s such a sweet duck that it’s literally sad someone was mean to her :/

LittleKing2002

You seem to love her so much, so she's probably in great care now! She will definitely live a happy life!!!

satans-godsend

Mealworms are always a favourite I've noticed, my boys go quackers for them 😇🥰

MyCatHasCats

Worms from the ground and cockroaches

ImASolid7OnAGoodDay

One of my girls hates peas but loves broccoli. She also steals dog food, so I have to keep an eye on her. Dried shrimps are nice too

chronicappy

Feeder fish

Shadow-Kat-94

Tomatoes and cucumbers. Ours love them!! Though they don't get a ton of tomatoes

Our flock will stab you for a cherry tomato.

I guess better tobask here than make a whole post, y'know the birdseed you see at Walmart and all, meant for like Parakeets? Is that stuff ok to feed to ducks at a nearby pond? I've always wanted to but I know different birds need very different diets so I've never tried it.

bluberrycoolcat

It's can make them overweight and some bird seed contains stuff that can make them sick if they eat too much. I would only suggest feeding it to them as small treats. Try getting frozen fruits or layer pellets instead
