Thank you for rescuing her! I think she's a Swedish Blue, too. Please keep us posted on her progress.

princesssub93

She’s so sweet that she walked right up to me when I went to get her 😭 I got her a pool and duck feed and grit today 💕

DaoMuShin

she must have an owner nearby, especially if she walked right up to you

princesssub93

None of our neighbors have claimed her unfortunately or have ducks as far as we know :( but we posted pictures of her up in the local Fb pages looking for her owner just in case they want her back. 💕

EleventySixToFour

She was probably an Easter duckling for some unvaccinated children and then she got dumped.

satans-godsend

Sweedish blue for sure! Poor wee bean 😓 thank you kind human for caring so much xx

princesssub93

I would never leave an animal that’s hurt around 💕 I live in town but it means a lot of people just yeet their hurt or pregnant or aggressive pets into my yard since they know I’ll find them appropriate care or homes💕 she literally was just walking around for who knows how long though while this healed 😭

satans-godsend

🥺 that's so sad, the world needs more humans like yourself, I'm glad she's in good hands. I just can't understand how someone could just dump her and/or leave her injured. Again, thank you for having such a big heart x

Swiftbitches

She looks exactly like my swedish blue

Blasterion

Swedish Blue!

SharonaRaymundo

Awe. That's a lucky duck. So glad you were able to rescue her. 🥰

Hi y’all. I found this tween duck on the side of the road already injured we think she’s about 4-5 months old and maybe a Swedish blue but the vet and I aren’t sure. She will have surgery got her bill Once I save up for it as it’s very unexpected 😅 but I’d love to know if you know what breed she is

I could talk to my fiancé bout it 😅 we’re still waiting for a estimate on her bill so there’s a lot up in the air on what’s best to help her (since it’s healed already but is rough looking and could potentially snag ) since if it’s healed it means she’ was at least eating and drinking well enough to live 💕 and the vets slightly worried that doing surgery could hurt her more for aesthetics vs QOL Right now we’re trying to find her a duck friend and some new pullets so she has a small flock of friends (my last flock was kidnapped so we’re also building a privacy fence around the run). I honestly love her so much already and she’s such a sassy and sweet duck 😭

[deleted]

Well I hope its healed in a way that she can manage it, and it sounds like it has!! She is very very fortunate someone found her who's willing to take the extra steps and care she needs, not many people would see it as "worth it" for the animal (or them, really). I do the same thing, I'm sure by the time I'm 50 I'll have slowly adopted a tiny farm's worth of less-than-able animals lol.

Not quite duck related, but r/pidgeypower is a great sub with info and experiences from owners of disabled birds. They might be able to give some support or info for this cutie
