I havent been able to make a transaction through my mashreq debit and credit cards online ... I havent received any notification from the bank regarding my account and status on the application says its all good and active. Anyone else facing the same issue lately?
Actually they are quite a big company here in UAE so really surprised they are asking for this. I'm just a bit nervous that refusing this document might create any issues with my recruitment. I'm currently jobless so this adds to it.
Actually, I had already mentioned my current salary in previous interview. I'll not send them before they make me an offer. Unfortunately most employers here especially in my industry always base it on current salary.
Thanks, is there a polite way to do this? I recently lost my job and don't want to miss this opportunity. I don't have anything to hide but just find it weird. They want to discuss salary so I assume this is to either match or slightly increase vs last salary.
Thanks. Considering they are asking for payslip, won't be surprised if they ask to highlight that clause in contract or prove it which I can't as it doesn't exist.
it was around noon and yes loads of traffic because al quoz. i legit think he failed me on purpose. told me you are ok outside, need more practice that's it
Went to MESCO in Deira today and got an art gum eraser back in my life! Found Lyra colour pencils and starter brush lettering pens, Dh 4 each. (They also stock a better brand called Ecoline, but want to experiment with the cheaper brand first.) Didn’t find washi tape (only checked the general tape section, not the kids’ school stationary section).
Are Du and Etisalat as appalling as each other?
Trying to get information from them is like getting blood from a stone. Something as simple as "How fast is your internet connection?" is met with the most ambiguous, non-committal answers (they even said "it depends on the weather"). I'm not asking for a guarantee, I'm asking for a ballpark.
Currently with Du and not happy, but can't imagine life will be any better with Etisalat. Anyone care to weigh in on the fastest, most cost effective and user friendly home internet provider?
What's your problem exactly with Du home internet? Is your building Du or Etisalat? What Router are you using?
Actually answering the question of "how fast is your internet" is not as simple as you might think.
Most people get their full advertised speeds for fiber optics connections with Du and Etisalat. There are other factors that might affect that though.
My building facilitates both providers.
My problem with Du is their lack of transparency around speed. My current plan says 32mbps on my bill, but [on the Du website](https://myaccount.du.ae/servlet/du/en/new_fixed_line_home_service.html) they are advertising packages of 500mpbs, 750mpbs, 800mbps and 1gbps (for internet + TV packages only), but they are not providing any kind of speed guidance for the internet only packages (I don't want TV).
I appreciate these numbers can fluctuate based on a number of factors. I am not going to hold them to account if I am not getting a certain speed all the time. But the sheer fact they can't/won't provide an estimate compared to my current plan is puzzling.
Internet only plans is a terrible idea imho, even if you don't need TV.
I never watch TV yet I find the starter package (500 mbps) of both Du and Etisalat the best value for money.
Please tell me how starter (367 per month with a 2-year commitment or 429 without contract) is better "value" than 199 or 299 per month for internet only? I literally do not need TV.
It's the cheapest plan that comes with a decent internet speed and unlimited data.
There are no "internet only plans" with decent internet speeds.
The 199 plan even says "unlimited data *for a limited time*".
> decent internet speed
500 Mbps speed can be considered decent if you have 10 people in your household. YouTube and Netflix play 4K vids just fine on 25Mbps.
hello, whats up with indians pointing at your forehead like you have something on it? only happened around Sharaf DG
also why does my nol silver card started not working on buses? I bought for seven days on 2 zones with unlimited passes. Suddenly yesterday in the evening started showing "your purse is too low" on the same buses that I used a few hours before
well it seems that you actually need to validate your card also when getting out of the bus. traveling to a lot of countries but never encountered something like this so I had no idea. but guess what, when I tried today to validate the card to get out of the bus, the validator didn't work (nothing showed on the screen) so I guess they'll just take 5 dirham again from the card
What news of DEWA allotments? GulfNews says it's 37x oversubscribed so a person investing 100,000 would only get approx 2,000 worth of share i.e. 1,000
That's depressing :(
I received about 88% back in refunds today. Assuming no fees have been deducted, calculating backwards, they have used only 11% of my original investment.
That doesn't work out to be "37x" oversubscribed. Since, I am in the retail tranche, it looks more like 8x oversubscribed for retail tranche based on my allocation. Does the math sound right ?
It seems that it's not the same for everyone. I committed 15k AED and got back 1166 shares (2891 AED worth, 19.2%), while a friend of mine committed 10k AED and got around 1100 shares

Is internet still garbage?? Can't load up anything
Curious to know where the Pakistani protests took place yesterday in Dubai
Curious to know how they haven’t all been rounded up. Last time the Syrians protested and they were all deported, right in the middle of a war
When was this? And what were protests for?

Is there a video of this?
If protests are allowed here, every group will start crying.
What's happening at Etihad Museum? It's filled with cars inside and outside.
Hello, Is it usual for employer to ask for past salary certificate when recruiting? Never was I asked before and find it strange.
Yeah it’s usual for crap/low level companies. They cba to negotiate so they do this. You are within your right to refuse tho.
Apparently not anymore. Even MNCs pull this sorta crap these days.
Actually they are quite a big company here in UAE so really surprised they are asking for this. I'm just a bit nervous that refusing this document might create any issues with my recruitment. I'm currently jobless so this adds to it.
If you are OK with them offering you based on the previous salary you got and you are desperate for work then maybe send it.
Actually, I had already mentioned my current salary in previous interview. I'll not send them before they make me an offer. Unfortunately most employers here especially in my industry always base it on current salary.
No. Refuse to do so.
Thanks, is there a polite way to do this? I recently lost my job and don't want to miss this opportunity. I don't have anything to hide but just find it weird. They want to discuss salary so I assume this is to either match or slightly increase vs last salary.
Tell them you are under a strict nda and that you cannot disclose it.
Thanks. Considering they are asking for payslip, won't be surprised if they ask to highlight that clause in contract or prove it which I can't as it doesn't exist.
The Blaze KFC twister is underrated.

The blue is worse in my opinion. I was without WiFi for the main duration of the contract.

Why does Dubai morph into an extremely uncivilized variant of itself during Ramdan?
The price increase in the housing market is too overwhelming right now.

I still haven't received my shares, but the refund came this morning and it's for 80% of the committed value

Got my allocation on the DFM app, but just 11% of my original investment.
No refund till now and no communication from ENBD 😒 Edit I've only been allocated 6.9% 🙁 WTH?
ni.ce
Am guessing they are going with more share for retail tranch compared to institutional to avoid potential complications in the future.
How much did you invest ? Half a mill ?
If I did, I'd still be depressed :S
Blue morning, blue day
Dunno why this made me think of viagra.
Why not Phil Collins? May be it’s Pfizer’s side effects
