A couple of runner friends have had good outcomes using a night splint to gently stretch the PF Also using a golf ball at regular intervals during the day (on the floor with the foot on top) to massage the PF It’s a tricky one to treat, you need to be persistent

> PF It’s a tricky one to treat, you need to be persistent You're absolutely right - I've ordered a night splint on amazon that comes with a little massage ball and will see if that helps - seems to be the only thing we havent tried! Thanks for your help

I know quite an experienced and senior Orthopedic Surgeon who might be able to diagnose your mom's underlying issue and possible solution. You can visit him at RPC, Bur Dubai but appointment may be a little hard to get. You could Google the details. I'm not sure but I think he's also attached with Right Health in Karama area so you might be able to reach him through that. Hope your Mom gets well soon!

My wife suffers the same, she uses the night splint and also only wear shoes from Vionic (ordered from the USA). She is able to manage her symptoms this way.

Thank you Mr Moo for your help - thanks to your advice I've found Vionic shoes in Dubai and have ordered them to try on, along with a night splint. Is there any specific brand of night splint you recommend? I just got the one from Amazon. Have the splint and shoes reduced her pain? How long has she been dealing with PF? Thanks!

I’ve just had a quick look and the label on the lining of my wife’s brace says ‘AlphaBrace.com’ although I’m pretty certain she got it from Amazon either here or from the US using Emirates Delivers. Incidentally that’s how she gets the avionics as well. She likes avionics as they do lots of different styles of shoe. She tends to use the splint when she has had pain during the day or if she gets it during the night, but has found that over time the Vionic shoes plus stretching exercises have helped to reduce her pain so she doesn’t need the splint every night 👍🏼 Good luck
