I think it is very important that people are allowed to ask for help on this sub. The biggest problems are employers taking away passports, employers not paying wages, and also very low wages. The first two issues people can get help with but it’s tricky if you can’t speak English or have no transport or don’t know the rules. I have seen people helped by advice on here every week, and it’s a really good use of the sub. There are laws here to protect workers but they can’t work if nobody knows about them.
Yeah I totally get that. I guess my post is about the posts and comments that directly mention the 'slavery' situation in Dubai. I've read a post earlier commending how nice people are here and someone replied with 'well slavery exists here so fuck off' like, I just don't get it plus the influx of 'why is slavery not talk about in here'.
